  1. 5.5 months in. thoughts? Something has happened to my hair. I feel like the hair is resetting. first photo is feb. second is today. Same locations/same lighting.
  2. When you start a new medication, how many months does it take to grow back the hairs that shed? Could it take 6 months or more?
  3. Anyone have photos/examples of hair growth after switching from oral fin to oral dut?
  4. Could it be a shed from starting dut? See thing happened to me when I added top dut.
  5. I’ll say it’s a disappointment. But let’s give 2-4 more weeks.
  6. I am 2 weeks shy of 5 months. No results. But there was shedding for use of the top dut.
  7. But I don’t know if the top dut is working. When I e started new medications for hair, it took about 4 months to see results. So far nothing with top dut. And I didn’t get sides when I used 2.5mg of fin. So I don’t see the harm in upping the fin which actually did yield results.
  8. I use every day for 4 months. Zero side effects. Not results yet. I also take 1mg of oral.
  9. Toronto man- oral fin works, but definitely not as effective as it was in the first three years of use many many years ago. I use top dut, every day. But what if top dut is not effective for whatever reason. That’s why I still use oral fin. Doubling oral fin several years back, worked for me. So I don’t see any harm is doing it again.
  10. Becuase 1mg fin is losing effectiveness. Ive been on it for 17 years! As I mentioned, doubling fin seemed to helped my hair- the proof is the two photos.
  11. In 2014 my hair loss was getting bad, I remember I decided to double my finasteride from 1.25 to 2.5mg a day and began using topical minox twice a day. It may a huge difference. I'm guessing it was because of the doubling of the finasteride. I went back to 1mg in 2018 when I switched doctors. Currently, I am using Xyon Top Dut (4 months in) 1mg of Fin daily, 1x daily top minox. Should I double finasteride again? Try oral dusteride. Add oral minox? ( I don't want to use this drug for very long.) My goal is to add something bridge the gap to Pyrlimude whenever that comes out. I think I should keep as is to see how effective Xyon Top Dut is until June 15th which would be 5 months of use. Then double to oral fin to 2.5mg. What does the hairloss fellowship think?
  12. Why was my first hair transplant doctor able to sense back 3400 grafts into my hairline and corners of existing hairs? Can you not do the same down the vertex and crown? see pictures.
  13. A few days of the short 4 month mark: Reduced hair fall out, no sides, but I feel that I have less hair than prior to using the medication. I'm guessing the hairs that shed at the start of the use of the medication are yet to grow back.
  14. My hair loss started 17 years ago and I have been on meds since then. Fin and top minoxidil have helped slow but not my hair loss. I had a hair transplant of 3,400 grafts back in 2019 to the hairline. The doctor didn’t add grafts down the middle of my scalp and there are gaps or thinning down my scalp. Is there a good doctor who can operate between these hairs. See pictures attached
  15. Thanks guys! I am a slightly different case as I have been on fin for 17 years and topical minox for 10 years. Medications work best earlier, as soon as one experiences hair loss. (And I had 3500 graft HT.) So I am curious to see how effective top dut will be in addition to my existing regime given my hair loss stated when I was 23 and I am now 40. This medication is expensive so I am hoping it works as I am losing ground and I’d like to hang on for another 10 years. And avoid another HT. But my question was- do hairs shed during the initial use of the medication return at the same time of new hairs? It took 3 months for oral fin to grow hair for me. And 5 months for top minox to yield results.
  16. I know that it can take about 6 months to see hair regrowth for new hairs when using a new medication. But for hairs that are shed during the first month or so, do they also regrow at around the 6 month mark or should they regrow sooner? I feel that the hairs that I shed after topical dut have not regrown back. I am one week shy of month 4. No more hair shedding as I used to have on a daily basis prior to the use of the drug, but I am not seeing any new hair growth for hairs shed or new hairs.
  17. After further review, I believe it’s the lighting that make my hair seem better. However, I do know the following- 1. The medication has stopped shedding that would naturally happen every day. I no longer shed 30 hairs a day. Only 3 hairs. 2. I do believe I lost hairs from the start of the use of the medication. They have not grown back. It’s like the medication knocked out a bunch of weak hairs. It’s been 3.5 months of use. I hope I will regrow new hairs. When do hairs grow back after shedding??
  18. Thanks Dave. While the top dut has stopped the shedding, I also believe I lost hairs at the beginning of the use of the medication, which have not grown back. It’s been 3.5 months so far, so 6 months will be a fair assessment.
  19. Do you think I will see new hair regrowth?
  20. I can definetly say, the topical has caused significantly less shedding. Prior to use, I would shed tons of hair on a daily basis. Now its just maybe 3 hairs a day. But I'm not seeing any new hair growth yet.
