And where do we buy this topical fin? Is this available in USA?
Here's the one I use. I think they've got a 10% as well. I get it from eBay:

I echo with @hairlossPA said

Great question. I don't think side effects would subside with continued use. Have you considered using topical finasteride? The chances are side effects are MUCH less (since it's not systemic) and you still get the benefits.

Probably a scam...and the folks who have posted have likely been paid for positive reviews. I also wouldn't trust a surgeon who makes such an offer.

I wish I had known about this forum. @Melvin-Moderator knows about my hair transplant mishaps haha.

Amazing results! I bet the patient is ecstatic!

It depends. How is your donor area? Judging from that 1 picture, I think you can get great results depending on which surgeon you go with

Amazing results. Congrats!

Wow, I thought I had seen it all

Yeah, not a promising result at all. The sample size was tiny too. I definitely do think though that replicating hair follicles without DHT receptors will be the best bet in combatting androgenic alopecia. It's crazy to think we can clone animals but can't even clone a human hair follicle well.

Started fin over 1 year ago and switched to dut 7 months ago.
Thank you all for your input. Would it be better to do FUT or will I get enough from FUE?
NP mate. I would do FUT first. How is your donor area? Do you have enough scalp laxity for an FUT?

I agree with Melvin. I think 4.5k to 5k grafts would suffice. Are you on any meds? Have you had any consults?

I would also choose a clinic where the physician actually does work.

Catching up on some much needed sleep. Going out for runs since the gyms are all closed. Studying as usual and watching TV. Hanging out with my dog.
-
I would recommend an in person consultation. The patient may also be a candidate for body hair transplants. Getting on medical therapy is also important.

Interesting study. Thanks for sharing @Melvin-Moderator! You're right, the side effect profile is pretty high. However, decreasing the dosage results in lower side effects and the efficacy is still there. I use a combo topical finasteride and minoxidil spray and have noticed an increase in density. Some folks have also commented on it too.

I am using oral. 3,75 mg per day.
hairs color: i do not have any white hair on my head. I had something like 50 white hairs in my beard. Now I’ve less white hair and the ones that I’ve are “less white”
hair tickness: i have very short hair at the moment but i can say hair thickness has improved.
hair density: same
How long have you been using oral minoxidil?

I guess that site is gonna have to change to hair loss cure 2040 lol
haha.
Yeah, Angela Christiano, PhD, is the real deal. I've talked to numerous surgeons and they think that we're about 20 years away from a stem cell based therapy or hair replication based therapy. Dr. Bernstein is more optimistic and thinks we're 10 years away. I'm not sure why he is more optimistic...he's obviously privy to more information than us

Thanks for sharing @Melvin-Moderator. I think we're about 20 years away from stem cell or autologous hair replication.
Here's a great article on the state of stem cell therapy and hair replication:

I would not travel abroad as of this moment for an elective procedure. Residency program directors are telling residents not to travel abroad or risk having their residency lengthened. Don't risk your health and life. They're asking people not to take mass transit in NYC:

@Melvin-Moderator can a body hair transplant (taking grafts from legs or chest) cause edema in the donor area? I've been hearing of cases of this occurring and wanted to get Dr. Sethi's opinion

I'm currently using minox and finasteride 5% topical for the last 3 months things and it has stabilized my hairloss
I would say about start with about 2k grafts. Have you had any consultations yet? That's good that you're taking meds.

I've heard great things for beard and body hair transplants with @Dr. Sanusi Umar and he's a stand up guy.
