  1. The risk of side effects from finasteride is about 5%. I'd suggest starting off low and then seeing how your body reacts and working from there. You can also use topical finasteride. There are topical finasteride/minoxidil combo solutions as well and you won't get the systemic side effects from oral finasteride. Read below for more info:

  2. Great questions. No, unfortunately, finasteride doesn't regrow hair, as others have said. Finasteride is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that blocks the conversion of testosterone to the more potent androgen DHT. Hence, those hair follicles with DHT receptors will be less likely to regress as there's less circulating DHT.

I think the most likely scenario is surgically implanting cloned hair. I would say the technology for this is about 20 years away.

I switched from Minoxidil 10% to Morr F 5% about an year ago. No significant changes in hair growth for me but that's not suprising given than even dutasteride did not yeild any growth for me despite being on it for more than 2 years.
As for purchasing MorrF, you can buy it from ebay resellers if you don't live in India.

Where can you buy the 10% solution? I can’t find it anywhere with delivery to the US

Any side effects Dr Khokar? I'm surprised very few ppl know about this or are taking this.

What could be the reason? Shouldn't it be number 1 medication if it's that effective or no side effects?

The chances of side effects are much less with topical finasteride than oral finasteride because the topical route of delivery isn't systemic (though the overall rate of side effects with oral is still low). The efficacy between the topical and oral is similar. For more info, you can read this study:

I'm unsure as to why the topical isn't as well known as the oral. I think more and more people are learning about it though.
