Inmates on death row? The state could put together a sorta catalog. The patient could visit the prison and thank the condemned prisoner.

Mr. GQ, I've heard using it too often can actually cause hair loss.

I concur with Richie48. Haven't heard of any great HT docs in the UK. Heard of some horror stories though from the Norton clinic.

Welcome to the forum. There are several top surgeons that are active on this board, as well as countless members that can give you helpful insight, as well as your experiences that could help others.

That's good. Wish you all the best.

I know of the anti-rejections drugs that are used in organ transplant patients, but I do recall a foreign doctor implanting a donor's hair follicles into a section of his forearm to see if they'd take, and they did.

I'll have to admit, some docs here that are great surgeons need better photo sections of patients. One would be Dr. Cooley's photo album. I know here's a top surgeon, but his photo album was below par. I have never heard anything, but the highest praises from his patients. I was considering going to go to him, but the main reason I didn't was for his lack of photos and detailed pics. There are others that could also vamp up their photo albums to reflect their superior skills.

Who was your surgeon? Some docs here have patients w/ scabs as long as a month, others want them gone around day 7. Many patients have hairs shed along w/ scabs. As for me, I'm right at 3 wks and haven't notice really any shedding. It seems most here have all their transplanted hairs shed by wk 4.

GTDL,
Go with your gut. If something is telling you to not go w/ this dr. Don't! I have been through 9 HT and only had thinning in the front. I've been trying to get it right for near 15 years. If you think you might be one of the lucky ones from a questionable dr. then go for it like I did, hell, it was only my 20's and half of my 30's I lost. Those years are over-rated.

I would do a seach on MHR in this forum. They don't have a good reputation. I have never heard of this doctor, but I would suggest doing a thorough search and ask questions.
Have you already had surgery w/ MHR?

The 1% (don't ask me how to spell the ingredient) can be purchased at any drugstore. The 2% can be purchased from online pharmacies. Check inhousepharmacy.com I think they may carry it or any other reputable online pharmacy. Only tried it once years ago, but I can't confirm or deny its efficacy.

I wouldn't even listen to them, their salesmen are slick. Back in the day, they were trying to talk me into it over the phone at $28 dollars a graft. If it wasn't for their steep price, I might have done it. Thank God I didn't!

I actually had no scabs this time, only some flaky dry skin particles.

Those nights are good for me. I'm on Central time zone.

Dang it Bill! I was going to say night and day, until I saw your post. Dewayne, the change is is like black and white. What a difference!
I was only going to go with 500-1000 fu session to address my hairline, but Dr. Hasson recommended 2,000 for the other areas in the front. I was hesitant because of shaving the top vs. maybe a slight shave at the hairline. I knew I needed it in the frontal 1/3 and had been camoflauging it. I figured, if I'm going to one of the best and I'm traveling out of the country to get this done, I might as well get the problem areas done now and right, instead of later.

The avg. seems to be $5 per FUT for first 2,000 grafts, then usually a $2 reduction per graft after that. For FUE around $8 per graft. So $4 per unit is at the low end.

No, only affects the regions on the head.

Drastic changes in eating patterns by restricting your intake can cause you to suffer temporary hair loss. I had this happen 3 times to my recollection. Once, after being severly sick and hospitalized for a month,I notice around a month later that hair was coming out from all over my head (permanent area also where men aren't suppose to lose hair) and chest as well. in 3 months, I could see my scalp in my vertex, mid-scalp and frontal and prior to this, I considered I had a decent head of hair. The good news is a month later, it all filled back in.
Again, when I went on a low-carb diet, but confined just behind my hairline.
The third time was not that severe and just around the hairline, and though it was noticeable to me, it would of just looked like I lost some body in my hair. That to, resolved itself when I began eating regularly.
I do stress that everyone is different, so check with a doctor to rule out other possible causes.

Sounds good. My schedule is pretty flexible, so I'll wait until some times are thrown around by other members.

Probably wanted FUE over FUT. Just a guess.

I knew angles had an effect, but never have seen this kind of a drastic change. If this guy had a crew cut, he'd look totally bald on top from the correct angle. No idea where to file this under.

Newb here - hair transplant scheduled with Dr. Haber

Apollo, May I ask how you found dr. Haber? Did you research/talk with his past patients. I have never heard of him and I would not want you to make a mistake due to you lack of research on this dr. And I don't think I've heard of any members gasing up the van to travel to Cleveland.
