    Thanks.

I am in India so difficult to do a in-person consult with Feriduni. I have sent my details to him him and it has been a week. It takes 3 weeks for a reply from the clinic. They have told me to hang tight.

I am also pursuing with Dr Frieto, but survey is possible only next year. They will get me on a wait list, but I can't make it on a short notice. I need to plan as well.

I will go with Feriduni if he can give me a date this summer. Lets see.

    Thanks again,

Since you are in India, why don't you consider Dr.Bhatti, recommended here with great proven results. I feel like he is understimated. Otherwise beside the spanish doctors I would also consider other belgians like Devroye, Lupanzula and Bisanga.

    Dear Tressful

We read your post with great interest and disappointment.

Disappointment because you didn't get the desired result, are visibly unhappy and rightly so. Sometimes, despite doing thousands of successfully surgeries, the next one doesn't come out as expected. It's an uncommon but not a totally unique phenomenon. We regret it and are ready to offer any assistance that we may provide. Secondly, we are deeply saddened by the kind of language used (crooks) as we take particular care to be conservative in our hair transplant counseling, educate our patients about benefits and risks of medication and not hurry into a surgical intervention. By Gods grace,  we have enough work and do not need to fish for patients.

Interesting because, the points mentioned by you go totally opposite to our approach. In our practice, we always discourage patients when it comes to vertex (crown) area hair transplant as it consumes a lot of grafts and results are not as gratifying as the front. Secondly  we always wait for maturation of baldness before we do a hair transplant on the crown and strongly push for medication before surgery. A lot of patients can testify that.

Despite this  if the crown is a major concern for the patient, we either do it under cover of medication or inform our patients that baldness may progress.

When doing mega sessions 4000+ grafts, we either recommend beard hair, or FUT+FUE or 2 sessions separated 6 months apart.

We make it a point to stress to our patients that FUE is not a scar less surgery (as routinely propagated) and we have videos on YouTube explaining this.

We specifically say, that no matter what some blogs say, if the hair is cropped short (below no.2) patchiness will be visible. You need to keep the hair 1.5 cm plus on both recipient and donor site for an aesthetically pleasing look.

So based on these observations, we request you to kindly share your name or number or date of  surgery, so that we may look into the matter and do necessary investigations into what went wrong , the specific communication with you and any rectification or improvement in our SOPs

This information will be useful for us to improve ourselves in future

Lastly, we don't believe that age is a criteria for hair transplant. It's the extent of baldness and future progression. The cut off of 25 years ad mentioned in some blogs is totally random and arbitrary and hence no scientific backing

The density of the crown is not the main concern here but the bad overharvesting instead and that is the doctor responsibility!

  3. Hi guys,

I've been using Minoxidil for the past 6months and still struggling with it.

I first started with the kirkland 5% which was making my scalp super itchy and eventually had to stop it.

Now since 2months I am using Foligain foam 5% and while my scalp is not itching anymore, it makes my hair super dry with a plasticize effect. It basically feels like a strong styling gel.

Is this normal or it's just me?

Would other brands like Rogaine work better or they would give me the same outcome?

Please let me know what you think from your experience.

    Thanks

Hey Johnny, I'm good mate, how are you?

Not just yet mate, same situation as you.

I'm finding it hard because I keep seeing more good surgeons pop up, haha. I've got a few I'm considering, but I haven't made any enquiries. What about yourself? Anyone in particular?

    Cheers :)

Like you said, every week a new potential surgeon pops up and makes me confused. Anyway I've got a few that are holding strong on my top list like Bhatti, Dermisoy, Devroye, Cinik. Have you considered any of them?

You do understand that according to your criteria of: “Any Doctor that doesn't perform all the critical steps should not be even considered.” would exclude MANY top elite doctors don’t you?...and I’m in no way defending Dr Erdogan and ASMED, I’m just pointing out a fact.

Yes I do understand and It doesn't matter, I would personally exclude all if needed!

When I chose a Doc for his capability, I pay and want him to deal with my health not his technicians.

I've read of several patients coming from a procedure where one team looked after the right side and the other the left side with a different outcomes...coincidence? Maybe...

It is a fact yes, hair loss has become a massive business and obviously by doing 5-10transplants a day they make more $ but I hate to see reviews named after one doctor instead after a clinic, when that doctor barely touched their head.

Any poster that is choosing Dr. Erdogan, from our site is having the recipient sites done by him. We have confirmed this with him directly. Many European surgeons have technicians perform extractions even North American surgeons like Rahal and H&W, so they’re not doing anything out of the ordinary.

Furthermore, we never recommend clinics for the following reasons. Let’s say we recommend asmed as a clinic. Let’s say Dr. Erdogan sells asmed to an unknown doctor. Then changes all of the technicians etc. We would then be sealing our approval with a completely different clinic that may not have the same standards.

    Guys,

Why has this thread been bumped? There’s no update. We haven’t received an update in over a month. This thread is constantly getting de-railed with non-related questions or issues. It should be focused on Payams results period. This is his progress thread after all.

Melvin I do understand your point and I know it is very difficult to judge a doctor/clinic without having to take into account several aspects.

Personally I'm in the process to choose the doctor that will do my hair transplant and every time I take into consideration one doctor I ask myself...am I choosing him or his staff? What if the team n.1 is good and team n.2 is average, which team I am gonna get for my procedure?

When we choose a doctor to do any other procedure like a neurosurgeon, heart surgeon and so on we know that it will be him doing the very critical tasks and that is why we've choosen him.

Sorry if i went off topic, I just felt this is exactly the scenario I am experiencing right now and that is making my choice very hard.

Please delete my post if you feel like so we can get back to Payam and focus on his situation.

    Jean,

name calling is totally uncalled for, there’s no reason to behave in such an aggressive manner. I understand tensions are high and you may find some opinions disrespectful, but under no circumstance should you resort to cursing or name calling. That’s not how we conduct conversations or discussions on this forum.

Everyone, I know there’s two sides, those of you who feel one way and those who feel another. I will be discussing the response with Bill and Pat, honestly I found his response yo be enlightening and what he said made sense. However, I would like to know about the other surgeons. Just so you know, we do not recommend clinics we recommend doctors. So, we don’t technically recommend ASMED clinic we recommend Dr. Erdogan, so anyone who is visiting our site and choosing Dr. Erdogan, should be having incisions made by Dr. Erdogan regardless. Also, it could be that those surgeons are very talented and may even end up being recommended at some point. We need more information. Be patient.

Also, Payam how can I demand answers from Dr. Erdogan, when I’ve asked you now three times to update us with your progress and you’ve ignored me every time. How is this being fair?

Melvin, as far as I know that is not always the case so on my opinion Erdogan should not be reccomended on this website. We should evaluate Asmed as a clinic instead. Any Doctor that doesn't perform all the critical steps should not be even considered.

This is just my humble opinion, take it as is.
