    Dear VicTNYC,

Thank you for seeing some of our results that we have posted here.  As mentioed by Mr Harin, this patient is upon Finasteride and Minoxidil.

We treat all our patients holistically. If some one has got still  some pre existing hair at the time of transplantation, then we insist that they should take medicines to prevent the ongoing baldness. Finasteride and minoxidil work very well in the crown area than the front and mid scalp. We keep a track of all our patients for many years and ensure that they keep taking the medical treatment to ensure the prevention of the baldness, as much and as long as possible.

Note: There is no use of any concealer in any of our cases ever!

( However, in cases where there is no pre exisiting hair, the newly transplanted hair doesnot require any support in the form of Minoxidil or Finasteride.)

    Thanks for the clarification.

    Results look very good.

I think you have asked some great questions, I suggest that you visit Dr. Sethi's website (google Eugenix india, Pradeep Sethi), since I am not sure if I am allowed to post link to their website, and browse through hundred of their examples showing real results, besides the clinic can also arrange for you to meet any of these patients if you travel to India. You can also check out their videos too, which shows real results. Dr. Sethi has also transplanted number of Indian celebrities with exceptionally great results. Real life ''untouched'' examples could be found on their website.

    I wish you the best.

    Will do, thanks!

    1. It is always good to have healthy dose of skepticism. But it is evident that DHT from what I have experienced and seen, results in much higher percentage of grafts to take in than traditional FUE. (least out of the body time for grafts)

    2. It is clearly written that patient was also prescribed Minoxidil and Finasteride to strengthen existing hairs and prevent further hair loss. Which as anyone with experience would know leads to improvements in crown, and reduces further hair loss!,...though in most cases Dr. Sethi's patients' whom I have seen..... would not be on any meds. This including me as well.

    Exceptional results.

    1. Regarding this DHT mentioned...is this another version of the DHI method?.....if it is the DHI method just under this different clinic naming, I would suggest they not use “DHT” as it confuses since many researching HT with this clinic could confuse it with the shortened name of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

    2. Yes, I did read that the patient was “prescribed” medication but that does not make it clear that the patient actually “took” the medication for said period, but , that’s just semantics, and that would be reasonable that the medication worked for him and helped his crown area.

Regardless, it is a good result.

  4. @Castillo there is no avoiding those, that is where the grafts are taken from, unless you want a big long linear scar from a fut that is much more obvious,  and the most important thing is how the donor area looks weeks, months , years post operation....and his donor density looks great and full, but yes, I agree, a very good case.

Also, he could get SMP done to cover the spots to blend in with his hair.

Well the right side at least has had some ok growth, i still have some hope for that side and i really think it can improve in the coming months, but i think i need a miracle for the left side. I could see myself only touching up the right side with some added grafts later if needed, then covering the left side by slicking it over, i could live with that.

What do you think of minoxidil? Should i wait until month 12 so i know the final result or start earlier?

My opinion as I probably stated before, give it the complete 18-months time to grow and mature fully before you do any touch-up with any Dr/clinic....the additional 10-months of more improvement could pleasantly surprise you.

Im not a fan of minoxidil, I like things to heal and grow more organically, I wouldn’t start using it if I were you because you could get the minoxidil shed and that will give you even more worry and anxiety.

Im a big fan of taking Biotin and MSM supplements tho....as well as a good strong protein diet.

Edit: Additionally regarding the minoxidil, by not using it, it is useful then for when you go to a consultation with a doctor for they to see your full 18-month result with out any growth assistance from minoxidil so that they could gage just how much of a touch-up you will need.....then, after any touch-up you decide to do... going on minoxidil would be reasonable to me.

  6. Looking at the video you posted, it doesn’t look “horrible”, lacking in density yes, transplanted hair growth on left side doesn’t look to be in the proper direction, I wouldn’t be happy...BUT....I wouldn’t be anxious either...you still have months of further improvement as you have obviously gained improvement over each month already.

Even with the growth direction of the new hair on the left side since it often takes time for the grafts to produce hairs like your native ones and to lay or flow in the proper direction, it could happen in another shed & growth cycle...so...to me...for 8-months it looks okay...not great, but okay.

i wonder, if in 10 months from now it has improved even more so for you, if you would be honest and admit that you panicked and complained too soon...I hope it does, and hope you do.

  7. Hey man, your hair thus far looks good for your age, although, it looks as if the frontal hairline hairs are miniaturizing, and your mid and crown area seems to be thinning a lot.

Since you’ve mentioned that you’ve been hired by a talent agency, that leads me to believe that your in the entertainment industry....so, if I were in your shoes and in a career where appearance seems to be important and of concern, I would definitely concentrate mainly on the frontal hairline/temples/temple triangle point and get that area taken care of in a first procedure, as well as having some grafts peppered throughout the mid-scalp area (should native hair there thin out in the future).

First impression is always frontal impression and if you’re in the entertainment field they’res always tricks they can use to mostly easily cover bald spots but frontal hair loss not so much without it looking fake, then you could get the bald spot crown area covered in a future procedure down the road if any hair loss progresses, just my opinion, good luck!

    Hi there,

the shedding process is normal and can happen at variety of timelines so please don't stress to much. Videos on my site to on shedding and growth times to help assure you.

    Hiya Spex,

According to the OP, i read it as if LeftwithRope is concerned that his newly sprouted and grown 4.5 months transplanted hair is shedding after only a short time of growth, how common is it for newly grown transplanted hairs to go thru a shed after only a month or 2 or 3 since having sprouted in the first place?...is this normal?...and will a new transplanted hair once again sprout and grow?

    thanks.
