  1. Hi guys, I’m looking for recommendations of good surgeons, preferably in Europe, renowned for hairlines. My hair is fine so I will need a surgeon who can densely pack the transplanted hairs to give a good result (even considering hairlines are generally less dense). cheers guys!
  2. I also only heard of Umar and he had YouTube vids of his past patients
  3. From what I understand generic fin and propecia have the same active ingredient and that’s what blocks the dht so that’s all you need to be concerned with. Where have you read otherwise?
  4. I'm not interested with trying to look smart, I'm simply interested in dealing with reality rather than things that exist as figments of people's imagination. Concepts of ethnicity change historically and cross culturally. This is a fact. You've made no attempt to engage with my prior points and as a result you're basically shoving your fingers in your ears and regurgitating your same argument. I'm not going to repeat myself - if you want to discuss this further pick up the points I raise.
  5. You make far too many assumptions with absolutely no basis. You have made no attempt to ask me what my motives are; you're guessing in the dark when you say I'm motivated by being PC. Yet again, you're another poster who is making the most rudimentary of errors by conflating race with nationality.
  6. Well you responded in the same vein, so thanks for your (factually incorrect) lesson, but unfortunately it has nothing to do with the topic...
  7. I think you'll find it is you who is talking nonsense. Science has long disregarded antiquated concepts such as race. Race is a political and social construct. Where does one race end and another begin? What about in different cultural settings where race is much more prolific than in others? For example, South America has tens of different ethnic groups that Europeans and Americans would all class as black. Thus, you could live in Brazil, think your ethnicity is X, move to England, and discover that your ethnicity is now Y. Such concepts have no grounding in science. Then you have the conflation of identity, politics, history, nationalism. Arabs think they are ethnically distinct from Iranians, despite the fact that Iran has had a dynamic border that has at times included many current day Arab territories - someone born in Basra in 2010 would undoubtedly identify as Arab, someone born in Basra in 500 ACE would undoubtedly identify as Persian. Has the indigenous ethnicity changed - or has the fact that what we perceive ethnicity to be is entirely determined by the current political and associated cultural context? This is exposed by what you yourself are saying. You aren't able to generalise amongst all caucasians; instead you jump from describing the qualities of blond hair and brown hair to arguing that therefore these attributes are for caucasians. Sorry to the mods for going completely off topic, I won't be replying again about this.
  8. How am I making it so someone is not heard? I'm merely engaging with what someone said. You yourself identified the problem in his post, in that he is confusing nationality with ethnicity. Although I would be keen to hear what ethnicity you think Spanish people have, although I know that is going off topic. My point is though, I remain unconvinced. Within any ethnicity there is as much variation as there is between ethnicity. So take a race, say caucasian people. Some of these people will have amazing hairy characteristics, whereas others will have poor hair characteristics. I'm sure this sentiment is replicated for every ethnic group. To say 'ethnicity X have great hair characteristics' is reminiscent of Victorian science (which justified racism with it's notion of biological determinism) and yes, I maintain, is completely stupid.
  9. Are you being serious? You think hair quality and suitability for a hair transplant is based on nationality? That's got to be one of the most stupidest things I've read on this forum.
  10. Sure - point taken. Would you say Dr Reddy is the former or the later?
  11. I also came across this video today. I'd never heard of Dr Reddy. A quick look on his website reveals he performs almost every cosmetic procedure under the sun. I thought one of the golden rules on selecting a surgeon was do not go with a surgeon who does procedures other than hair transplants.
  12. Hey guys, Does anyone have any views on who is the best beard-to-head surgeon based in Europe? Thanks
  13. Hey guys, I've just looked through the recognised surgeons and Dr Ali Emre Karadeniz is not listed. Has anyone come across him and got any opinions to share? I'm really impressed by the quality of the information he gives in his youtube videos, he really seems to know his stuff. What do you guys think? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCx7nSCN-VCLcYmH-lrkItRA
  14. I took two weeks off work, and then the third week I worked from home. After that, I went to work with no hat or concealer - I had FUE and the healing was complete by the end of the 3 weeks. My hair was shaved short, literally everyone in the office asked me (about 80 people). I just said I wanted a change. Got a few strange looks, and I think a guy figured it out when he came and stood over me to ask me something, I reacted to his presence and viewpoint and I think he could tell I was embarrassed so he never said anything to me or to anyone else. Most people don't want to embarrass you if they figure it out. Remember, most people are way too wrapped up in their own business to care about someone's hair. Security checkpoint: this was a real source of anxiety for me, as on day one I was really scared of removing my hat incase I damaged the graphs. You just get over it. I removed the hat at security and the security staff were nice and sympathetic.
  15. Guys, thanks very much for your replies. Giving the nature of the question I realise it could have descended into utter jokes really quickly, so I'm grateful for the assurance you gave
  16. Hey guys I had a transplant about a year ago. My transplanted hair has grown well and my hair looks natural. I have a bit of an embarrassing problem so I'm just going to state it: I was having sex and the girl I was with pulled my hair quite a lot during it. I should have told her to stop, but I was kind of in the moment. My scalp was ever so slightly tender afterwards - nothing too bad. I looked in a mirror, everything seemed fine. No blood, nothing like that. I think if I hadn't had a HT, I wouldn't even question this. But because I have had a HT, I'm worried if it could have been damaged. Or, is it as good as natural hair, that can take a bit of pulling and still be ok? Thanks
  17. Hey man, Really sorry to hear of your experience and how you feel about it. Obviously, any surgery is your choice and you've made your preferences pretty clear, however, I guess the added value of coming to a forum is that people can give you their opinions based on what they see. Based on your photos, where you haven't had transplanted hair (the 'horseshoe' hairline), the hair looks thick and strong. Based on this, it's highly probably your donor is in better condition than you think. Maybe you're negative experience is clouding your judgement. There are some really ethical doctors out there, who only ever go conservative, I'm thinking of someone like Dr Lorenzo in Madrid. He could fill those gaps in for you no problem - you probably wouldn't even need that many. Like other users have said, you could have a free consultation (Lorenzo's consultations are free, he'll examine your donor and give you his honest opinion) and then make your mind up. This could be over pretty soon and you could have a great hairline. Whatever you decide, good luck.
  18. What you're asking for is stats for a very specific scenario, people who had two procedures who thought their second procedure was 'botched'. I doubt such stats exist. I would try and make sense of it by assessing the doctor - is his/her previous work available to judge? What is that quality like? It's perfectly feasible that you're being a little impatient - 2 months post surgery is nothing.
  19. Hey, I’m a couple of months post op, after having FUE, and I’ve been on fin for a number of years. ive been searching these forums to see if there is any info on using whey protein and hair loss. The previous posts I’ve read seem to be a little dated, so I’m wondering if research or forum members’ experience has moved on in any way. Does anyone know if there is a correlation between hair loss and whey protein? thanks
  20. Hey, So I'm 2 months post op FUE, and I shaved my back and sides myself with electric clippers. I accidentally went onto my recipient when I was fading/blending the cut in. At 2 months post op, is it ok to shaving the recipient? There seems to be some disagreement on this forum, with some saying you can't shaving the recipient for up 2 six months. Why is there such a divergence of opinion on this issue? Thanks
  21. I guess I was just unsure if the process could have an impact on the hair grafts, that’s all.
  22. Hey guys, You may find this concern irrational, but if someone is 3 months post op, is there any problem with having your teeth whitened professionally at the dentist? I thought it best to steer on the side of caution and ask here first! Thanks ?
  23. He suits have a bald head, and he appears to be very comfortable in his own skin, so I would suggest that in fact, he doesn't need a BHT. Good on him.
