I've heard good things but haven't researched him all that much.   What you want is to minimise as much risk as you can and have a Dr who will do as much as the procedure as possible themselves..  Clinics also like , Lupanzula spring to mind too in hands on Doc's..

The 2 things that always made me steer clear of clinics like ASMED are they use way too many grafts for area covered ..  Not entirely sure if you get what you pay for really.  Also technician led surgeries for me a no no.  Not doubting they can get good results but too many variables..

Theres another clinic where the Dr caps it at 500 grafts a day but gets top notch results each time so could be 4 day surgery but high chances.. Cant recall his name now .. hopefully someone can chime in

    Keser.

Based on a conversation I had with a doctor and based on my own experience with FUE.

A doctor I greatly admire mentioned that they didnt like doing sessions over 1500 FUE in a single sitting as people heal differently from FUE. A potential result from doing large scale FUE is it can result in significant thinning. They mentioned they had seen it multiple times with sessions over 1500, but never in numbers under that, so their approach is to keep it small and conservative, assess the donor's recovery then proceed from there. I guess it's like dipping your toe in the pool to see how cold it is before going swimming. They also mentioned their approach was in the minority.

Based on my own experience I can confirm this is true. For my first FUE I was supposed to have only 1800 but the operation was expanded when i was unconscious to 2600. It resulted in areas of overharvesting/donor depletion and I currently keep my hair around 2cm to hide the patchy appearance. My own understanding of things I would believe some people are just better candidates for FUE than others ...

So they will be able to assess the donor's recovery already on the next day? Because in this case they already planned on doing two days of FUE in a row for a total of 2800 grafts.

They told me the same thing when I was quoted 2300 grafts in consultation, that they will do 1500 the first day and then 800 the second day.

I'm unsure what you mean by thinning if you're not talking about shockloss because the number of grafts removed will be the same if it's removed in one day or two days back to back.

I will try and get some tomorrow, getting trickier though with my hair growing. Yes i am concerned about DUT, i think i tried it 8-10 years ago and i didnt react well, headaches and chest pains if i remember. The current medication will take 3-6 months to kick in, i have only been on it for 50 days and also going through a shed as well, which is a positive sign. In regards to PRP, yes you are right,  i can do it once with them, but prp is something you have to keep on having every 3 months if i am not mistaken, so i am not sure if i will go, but i will see how i feel.

So it seems you should skip DUT for now as it will cause unnecessary stress.

There's a lot of different views even from the docs on the effect of PRP. It won't make things worse at least. But you do as you feel. :)

The most important thing is stay on current regimen and just chill and let time work its magic.

fantastic result. I just wonder, maybe it has already been discussed in this thread, why 1700 grafts in 3 sessions?

Because Dr Keser does everything himself, he can do about 500 a day and still guarantee highest quality of work in each transaction of each graft. After that I guess fatigue starts to play a role. Doctors are humans too.

I am following quiet a few Erdogan patients that had surgery in 2018 and 2019 to see how their results turn out. Like you said, I've seen a good amount of poor results by his clinic recently and am a bit skeptical. I don't want to waist donor grafts as I'm sure all of us on this forum feel the same way.

I've seen a lot of recent posts by Hair of Istanbul on IG and youtube. Any idea about them?

    Never heard of them, sorry.

Now that you mentioned you will soon be a medical doctor, I'd say another option would be to save up money working two-three years and then go to the best in North America: H&W. But then again, a 5k session at their place might be too hefty even with a doctor's salary. And then the waiting... well, just wanted to throw the option in there.

    Guys,

These inflammatory remarks are ridiculous. I’ve been in contact with Dr. Diep, he will be commenting and reaching out to this patient. There are countless examples of his work myself included.

Unfortunately, like I said not every result will be a success and I’ve been around long enough to say every surgeon has had lackluster results. How a surgeon handles these cases is the sign of a great surgeon and I believe Dr. Diep is an excellent surgeon.

That is great and another testament of the power of this forum. Will be interesting to see how the Dr stands by his work.
