  1. Thank you; I feel most of the growth became apparent after the 6 month mark. In an ideal world, all patients would have a full result @ 6 months unfortunately everyone is different. Main thing is we all get the result we hope for

Looking forward to seeing your pics, and encouraging to know that growth continues to a noticeable degree after the 6 month mark. Congrats on the successful result!
  2. Today is day 238 (38 weeks) since day of procedure

I had to take the missus to the doc and coincidentally found myself in the same room as day 85 so I tried to take a pic at the same angle, with the same parting to have an apples to apples comparison

    Day 85 on the left

    Day 238 on the right

I'd like to think things have really improved

Going into this process I thought I'd be a fast grower and I was frustrated when 3-4 months in I was going at a turtle's pace. One has to find patience and be positive.

Looking forward to the next few months to see if there are any further improvements.

However the biggest benefit so far is for my mental state: peace of mind. My hair imperfections weighed me down for years; I used to have a ton of hair and having my hairline recede and thin in the front beat me down. I would always be wary of harsh lighting; walking around with wet hair, even the wind.

Enough of my babbling; have a great evening

  3. Good to hear; I was going to say if you're depressed we can chat over whatsapp; glad to hear you're in a positive mindframe. Took me about 6 months to really start noticing some changes; however you had a lot more work done so you'll start noticing changes in coming weeks I imagine

Haha you're not wrong buddy!! Looking forward to the forthcoming months!

Thanks Bill for changing the thread title. Think there maybe some confusion here and I realise I should've given you a reason for the title change in my PM to you.

I realise my original title was a little happier but just want to clear up that this still is the case. During my research I found it extremely useful when the type of procedure, doc name and the number of grafts were added in the title, this helped me narrow down all the threads I wanted to read. ;)

I know its still early days in my HT journey but I'm definitely very happy at this stage. The whole experience with Dr Cooley and his clinic has truly been a very positive one so far.

    Apologies for the confusion Bill!

Thanks buddy, the hairs are slowly coming through. The whole area is looking a lot darker with more and more hairs coming through. Still early days but things are looking good so far.

  4. So things have really improved since my last post here.

8 months are coming up next week and will have an update with pictures then.

Honestly speaking: I don't think about my hair much anymore. It doesn't dominate my thoughts when I wake up nor does it keep me up at night. Peace of mind = priceless.

I can go to work with my hair wet and brushed back which I haven't done in years. I can style my hair in more than 2 ways which wasn't possible a year ago.

  5. I'm not too familiar with Dr Parsley or Dr Waldman.

Both Dr Cooley and Dr Konoir are top class choices. Dr Cooley is in Charlotte while Dr Konoir is in Chicago.

A number of current and past patients have reviews posted on this site that you should be able to access.

My procedure was with Dr Cooley last July. You can tell he cares about what he does. He has a great support team who all work well together. I have a post that I need to add on to my signature but hopefully you can find it.

I think you also need to determine when you want to get the procedure done. Dr Konoir may have a longer wait line but you'll have to contact their patient co-ordinator. When you contact Dr Cooley's office; reach out to Lollie or Aileene. They will put you at ease and not pressure you to rush into any decisions. You come first.

If you have any questions regarding Dr Cooley please don't hesitate to reach out to me

  6. Everything looks to be on track; ref the scar: give it time. Once the new hair starts growing in the front you may not want to keep the back that short? I would say that if you're thinking about going for another procedure to do fue into the scar, let yourself heal first. Try and clear your mind.

Regarding tightness in the donor area, nothing wrong with running. Keep it simple with the exercise.. It's an odd sensation having tightness in the head but the less stress you put on your neck the less problems you'll have with the scar.

  7. Seconded.. I feel my hair has improved substantially from month 5 to month 7. Dr Cooley knows what he's doing. If you're nervous or unhappy, I'm very confident Lollie or Dr Cooley will give you some insight/advice but they will also say patience. You're still recovering. In 8-9 months you'll ask yourself why did you drive yourself up the wall :P

I've looked at your incision in your previous posts and most recent and really don't see much difference. I personally don't think it's stretched. As others have suggested give it some more time, I'm positive this when healed over the next few months will look better. Be patient and don't stress.
  8. Hey UKlad81: will have an update in the next few weeks.

Growth has kicked in and I walk around with my hair brushed back while wet.. something I haven't done in a very long time. To be honest the best thing I can say is my brain isn't consumed about hair anymore. Just hit 7 months so will do an update at 8 months to show the changes.

Easier said than done but try to relax and let the work take it's course

Thanks buddy! It's getting better as the weeks go by and I also think the bio oil might be playing its part as well. That said the incision behind the ears are always pretty red so I may introduce Aloe Vera to further help.

You're right, looking forward to seeing out March and hoping the magic starts then. How's yours going, any update?

  9. Same; it's hard not to feel envious when there are those who have unbelievable results already at 6 months and you're lagging behind. I'm in the same boat; only advice I can give is try and keep things in perspective. Don't over react. Stay calm and live life. Re-evaluate at month 12 to 15. We're only human; we've spent time, money and put our health at risk for this procedure. We want instant gratification. Stay strong my friend

Exactly, I read the same exact thing. Got me a little worried because everyone that was complaining at 6 months most likely were unhappy with the results at the end. I’m like I’m almost At 6 months and I don’t see it happening.

Yea i spend a lot of my time looking at everyone’s progress, which probably isn’t good I’m constantly checking my hair too. It’s driving me crazy hahah.

  10. Thanks man

I echo the above. Likewise, Dr Cooley has been in touch with me throughout the Xmas period to see how things are going with me and has also answered some of my questions. A class act indeed!

I totally agree with HTREGRETs, your going to be just fine in a month or two. I'm confident that you will look back at this post and think "what was all the fuss about".
