  1. Amen to that. All I could see online was people's 6month results that look dense/thick and finished. Then I read people saying all hair should be through by 6months and the next 6 will be thickening. My surgeon said his isn't true and hair will continue to grow up until 12 months, maybe even the odd hair after but I didn't believe that. Looking at the bigger picture, clinics and a lot of people only want to promote the best. Luckily on here most people will post their results at each stage good or not so and this gives a lot of people hope that they're not the only one at the same stage.
  2. This is the photo I sent my surgeon. As you can see on the right hand side there's a slight patch (with styling products it's nothing) Also looking at your posts, for 5months I think it looks like it's going well. Dr Nader is a very competent surgeon from what I've read on here and you'll see much further improvement in the coming months Photo won't upload for some reason. Il try and work out why
  3. I had 3061 grafts. The best piece of advise I was given was by Bill and Spanker I believe (maybe wrong) who told me that lighting is a hair transplants worst enemy or best friend. It drove me mad to begin with and I was contacting my surgeon most weeks as nothing really got majorly better until 8/9months onward. I recently sent my surgeon my 15 month photos and he said that he'd only advise adding 200-300 grafts (at his charge) for a small area that hasn't grown aswell/maybe some hairs in that area fell out from shock loss.
  4. I'd consider myself a slow grower. Had my transplant October 11th 2016. I've attached photos pre HT 5months post HT 7months post HT 15month photo
  5. I had FUE with Dr Tayfun in October 2016. You can see my results here http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/187510-advice-needed.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/187328-3061-grafts-dr-tayfun-oguzoglu-10th-october-2016-a.html
  6. I'm happy to say that those hairs have ended up growing for me. Must have been in some type of resting phase. The only hair I pulled out was one which looked like a corkscrew. When I look into that area now there's only normal hair now so it either never re grew or a normall follicle came out after
  7. I wasn't one of two patients on the day that I had my transplant. Extractions are done by Dr Tayfun and one nurse/technician. Doctor opened all the channels and techs impnated the grafts. As everyone else has said, I agree, medication is needed. Propecia and minoxidil are the two best. I stopped Minoxidil because I didn't like the feel it gave my hair but have continued with propecia.
  8. Sorry guys I didn't get an email notification to say someone else had commented on the post, hence the late reply. Dr Tayfun done the extractions along with one other member of staff (Dr or Tech I'm unsure). He then made the incisions and banadaged me up for lunch. After lunch it was two technicians who implanted the grafts.
  9. I assume you mean Tayfun Oguzoglu. I had my HT with him just over a year ago. Can see my photos on my posts. Everything seems to have went well and his hospital is very clean. His prices are also very attractive. I'm looking to maybe go back in the near future for an addition of density but the work he's done so far looks like most other Dr's to me.
  10. Guys Thankyou for your input. I'm now just over one year post HT and this is where my hair is now. I believe it looks much better than what it was at 7months. I'm debating a second session at some point to add frontal density.
  11. Looks amazing in my opinion, frames the face and the density is top notch.
  12. Just attached a ten month update. Starting to debate about booking for a second HT due to hair greed. Have thought if I did go back to Istanbul I'd go with Koray Erdgoran at ASMED. He believes I'd need 2800-3000 grafts. My thinking is that if I'm going back again I want to go to the best. But then I do think that my previous transplant hasn't been a disaster and I just had higher expectations thank i may be should have. I would like a head of hair that looks full and dense in the morning when I get out of bed or if it's styled. Other surgeons I've spoken to are; Erkan Demirsoy, estimates 2000-2500 grafts for dense packing Resul Yaman, 2500-2800 Koray Erdgoran, 2800-3000 Tayfun Oguzoglu, my original surgeon. I haven't had a consultation from him yet as I expect him to be consulting in London at some point in the next few months and will have a follow up with him then. I expect that as sending photos 10 months post op these estimations may be slightly less after one year. Any comments or advise from member of the forum is always appreciated, I know many will say don't have a second HT until 18months at least, so I would be looking atbooking with whoever for about FebruaryMarch 2018.
  13. I found that Newley transplanted grafts will seem to look like their growing once the scabs come off. All that's happening is they're being pushed out of the scalp, making way for the dormant period of a couple of months. Mine came out bit by bit so it would seem normal to look like some have grown out more then others.
  14. When I sent my deposit to my surgeon in turkey I went to my local bank (Santander) gave them the account holders name, IBAN number and all associated account numbers which the surgeon provided, then told them I wanted to send the money in euros and they done the rest for me.
  15. I've seen the work of arenamed on instagram. Always looks fantastic work. I myself considered them for my hair transplant as they have a set price (very low if I remember of about 1600 euros for everything such as consultation, operation, aftercare, transport etc) upto a maximum of 5000 grafts The surgeon is meant to be Serkan Aydin I believe. I have read reviews on a few forums saying that people never met Serkan and it was all technicians, which for the price would seem correct. If I understand your question correctly then only your transplant surgeon would tell you how many donor grafts you have left as they would have reviewed this prior to your first surgery. From my limited knowledge of donor supply, if you've had 5000 grafts used already then another 5000 may be ambitious. I believe from what I've read on hair transplant network that 10000 donor grafts would be for someone with a very healthy supply. I do stand corrected if I am wrong though.
  16. mattj I have attached some photos of my hair post op, straight after and recently. Some are from last week before a hair cut and some after. I had 3061 grafts done by Dr Tayfun Oguzoglu 9 months ago, method was micro motor FUE
  17. Yes all hairs around the area are transplanted. Also yes I'm from Plymouth Devon. It's a small world. Where are you from?
  18. Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone has any advice or has ever experienced similar as I have post FUE. I'm nine months post op and have seen a few hairs break through the skin but not grown any more than a few millimetres at best. This has been like it for about two months. They came through the scalp, grew to their current length in what I'd call a regular time but haven't carried on growing. I've attached a photo with the hairs circled. As the hairs I have noticed are near the frontal hairline I can see them, but I'd assume there could be more further back doing the same thing that I can't see.
  19. Thankyou all so far for your help and advice. I did forget to mention light. Sometimes it can look amazing and then others not so much. I've attached photos in natural light from yesterday and the results do look better. I think a second HT may be my preferred option of choice in time
  20. Spanker thanks for the reply. I did forget to mention lighting. In some lights it looks amazing, others not so at all. Yes I've recently started taking finestaride again after stopping for 6 months due to my girlfriends fears of potential sexual side effects. Upon showing her the facts though I'm back on it and having no issues
  21. Hello all, I've been a reader of this forum for a while and decided to join and share my story. After noticing at about 18 that my hair line had receded I looked into a hair transplant at age 21 but was put off by the potential of future loss due to my age. 3 years later and still unhappy I further looked into the procedure and the use of finestaride to prevent such further loss. After looking into UK surgeons I quickly found Dr Fargo was the only real recommendation in my country but after speaking to my barber he advised turkey. After much research I come across Dr tayfun oguzoglu. 20 years experience and listed as being very qualified. I sent an online consultation and found the response about anything I wanted to known as very helpful and it pushy. I decided to book my hair transplant of 3000 required grafts tonne done with micro motor FUE at 1euro per graft. The whole experience in turkey was first class. I cannot fault anything that the clinic done and even to this day their contact back to me is very good. One thing that did ease my mind was that when I met the Dr I told him I'd have more grafts done as I had the money, he said there was absolutely no need. Very honest as he could have just taken the extra money and done nothing (I am worried about my growth at this point but will explain as I go on) I'm now at the 8 and a half month mark of my transplant and have kept in regular contact with the clinic. I'm dubious over my growth. No doubt it's coming but I'm unsure if my expectations were too optimistic or if my result is sub par. Frontal density isn't amazing and I still see some patches of very weak looking hair. The thing that drives me crazy is seeing my scalp still, my original hair was very thick so I have this imbalance of a thick frontal patch with two thinner areas on each side. The last time I spoke to the clinic which was a month ago they said that all looks very good for this stage. By one year to 14 months I should see a very good result. Il attach photos and let people have their opinions as from what I've read on this forum everyone is very helpful and experienced.
