Better to be honest if you get caught you could get into trouble. A lot of people with a full head of hair don't seem to know about Finasteride or what it does. If they do find out about it they may just think you have prostate cancer.

Romeono1 replied to littlewolf's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews

Littlewolf I'll repeat my post from your other thread you posted: ***Littlewolf please check out the below link http://www.hairtransplantnetwo...D=469&PatientID=2251 On a 7 month follow up appointment he had less growth than anticipated. The Dr was willing to do a free surgery for him because he thought the results were about 50%. They decided to wait and have another follow up appointment four months later. If the results still weren't satisfactory he would do complimentary surgery. This is how he was at the end of the 11th month with obviously a good results so they deferred the surgery and he is just one more happy ending. Moral of Story: Wait for minimum of 1 Year before you can judge the result.*** This message has been edited. Last edited by: Romeono1, April 12, 2010 12:03 PM -
10 months after my surgery with Dr Humayun In Pakistan
Romeono1 replied to AMR1's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
J.J I agree with you there are not a lot of pics of Dr Humayuns patients with immediately post op pictures. I have some and will be posting them on my hairloss blog soon. I'll send you a link once they are up. AMR you results look great you should be very happy. One question why did you go to Dr May a 2nd time if you were not happy with the results the 1st time? -
Hi Gujrat your results look good congrats. My dad and another one of my relatives went to the Gujrat hospital as well. My dad is at about 5 months post op and he had a similar baldness level to yourself, he noticed some very early growth and his results look quite good. I can't make a judgment on the hairline as yet because it is too early. I'm not sure why he isn't recommended on this site? I have had a hair transplant with Dr Humayun from Islamabad, I decided to go for Dr Humayun because he is recommended on this forum. Also my dad had quite a bit of pain in his donor area after the hair transplant surgery so I decided to go with Dr Humayun and thus far am very happy the support he has given me. I recommend you consider him if you go for another hair transplant. If you have any questions PM and I will be happy to help.

Help! My son wants $2700 for a 3 step plan
Romeono1 replied to Father of 2's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Speaking from personal experience: I have tried all sorts of medications and herbal remedies, from accupuncture to rubbing raw onions on my head! None them have worked, the best advice I can give you is to get your son to start using Finasteride as this is the only drug that has been working for me. -
Tommy Boy who was your surgeon? I think there a lot of factors that could affect hair growth, but I am surprised to here you are growing new hair after 2 years! I suppose I should say congratualtions? Have you started taking any pills or medications recently?

Excellent thread guys, this is very interesting. I recently had a hair transplant but I was happy because the senior technician that was carrying out the work me had more than 9 years experience. I'm not sure how much experience the other two technicians had. I think the quality of the technicians can determine whether the Dr is world class or just average. So they need to constantly asses the qualitry of work by the technicians and most importantly provide them with continous training so they can improve their skills.

Absorbable Sutures or non absorbable?
Romeono1 replied to Reds's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Nice answer Dr Bernard. -
Keith have you considered Dr Farjo in Manchester? He has had some good results but he is very conservative. I think the best hair transplant surgeon in the world is Hasson and Wong but I have seen some excellent results from other Dr's as well. (I've based my opinion on the pics from the hairloss blogs)

How to tell the quality of Hair Technicinans??
Romeono1 replied to Romeono1's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Mike you are right, Dr Humayun believes in two step surgery. 1st surgery is to get coverage and the second focuses on density. (I posted this question before our discussion in private) Dr Humayun I agree with you I am still young and still balding therefore we have to be careful with how we spread the grafts across the area. As you said we need to take into account future hairloss as well. In hindsight you were right to go for coverage rather than density for the 1st surgery. I am sure I will get good results from yourself. This thread is not just aimed at Dr Humayun but all hair transplant surgeons across the world. It doesn't matter if a surgeon is in Asia, Europe or America they all should be able to reassure patients of the education, experience, quality of their hair transplant technicians before surgery. A lot of surgeons will say 'Yes I our technicians are very experienced and educated' but they won't tell you how they ensure/ asses the quality of their hair technicians work. (Some will make you feel like you have a mental issue for questioning them about their quality assurance procdures, but it is an important question) Whether we like it or not we are all human and prone to human errors and affected by our social environment, therefore it is important to constantly monitor the performance of the technicians to ensure they are doing the best work possible for the patients. Dr N.K. you should always be comfortable with your surgeon and the technicians before the surgery. This is why it is so important the patients educate themselves as much as possible before a hair transplant surgery. If the Dr doesn't have the answers to your questions or you feel they are not giving you the responses you want then walk away or you may regret your decision. -
Sandy I hear Dr Humayun is opening a clinic in Dubai. He is a good surgeon, the support and after care he provides is excellent. I have recently had hair transplant surgey by him, I can't comment on the results yet but will keep you updated. It would be worth while contacting him to find out more.

lasting time of transplant
Romeono1 replied to razgeezer's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
The only side effect I have from using Propecia is pigmentation. I'm convinced that it has had an affect on my memory as well, but I can't prove this. (Maybe I'm just paranoid?) It certainly has lowered my sex drive a little, which is very good and I'm very happy with this. I haven't experienced any erectile dysfunction or anything. After using the it for almost 2 years I think it is losing it's effectiveness. P.S. I have no idea how long the lasting time of a hair transplant is, but most people I speak to say it stay with you for life. -

From bald to not bald: Dr. Wong 8241 grafts
Romeono1 replied to hairshare's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Yeah great result! Do you have any pre-op pictures with your hair grown a bit longer so we can make a better comparison? How much did each session cost you? -

Thanks for the information Sunnycoastman. It would be good to hear from a hair transplant consultant or a Dr about this. -
Dr Feriduni 11 months post op 2000 grafts
Romeono1 replied to beardywierdy's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Hi can you please post some pics of your hairline before the operation so we can compare the pictures. Thanks -
Mike what age are you now? Do you have any post op pictures? Dr Humayun took before pictures for me and Shahid was kind enough to take 1 day post op pictures for me. I will be creating my hairloss blog soon.
-
Yeah that's a good point Mike the Dane, I didn't shave my hair either maybe this is why I didn't feel too much discomfort.
-
On the 5th day of my hair transplant operation I exposed my hair to some direct bright sunlight for about 20 minutes, I know this was very silly but I didn't really have a choice. I am very worried that this will mean my new hair grafts won't grow. I know people say you will be fine if you are 7 to 10 days post op and don't have anu suburn or blistering but how about if you are just 5 days post op? P.S. My head was fine after the sun exposure I never had any blistering or peeling. In fact I didn't notice any difference or pain at all.

Absorbable Sutures or non absorbable?
Romeono1 replied to Reds's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I hear disovalble stiches are a bit of a pain because they can take more than a month or longer to disolve and they can be quite messy as some of the material may hang out of your head. -
I got good sleep after my hair transplant because I took some sleeping pills for the first 3 nights. Maybe you should think about using this for a few nights until your head starts to heal a little? One of the main reason you probably can't get to sleep is not because of the pain but because you are worrying too much. Just try to relax a little. The pain should almost disappear after 9 days post op. Who was your surgeon?

Pre op Dandruff, major hairloss during washing
Romeono1 replied to Romeono1's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Thanks for the info fingers crossed but I'm not worried about the dandruff, I know I can get rid of this. My concern is that I may have permanently lost hair while washing my hair vigorously. Spex seems to think that the hair I lost while washing my vigorously will come back as long as it is not affected by DHT. Which is great to know. But I think I may have lost the hair permanently because if you wash your hair with a lot of force the roots may come out and therefore the hair might not regrow. What are your thoughts on this? -
I used to try and cut Proscar into 5 pieces but it is very difficult. I have recently had hair transplant surgery from Pakistan and have started using a product called Hair Fin which is a 1mg tablet of Finasteride. You could probably order it online. The only thing with Hair Fin is that I don't really trust the medicine from 3rd world countries because they have very relaxed regulations therefore the quality of the finasteride could be worse? What do you guys think about this? P.S. Hair Fin costs about ??1.40 for a months supply.
