  1. Its time for an update 1,5 months since the HT. 6 weeks and 2 days to be exact. I think most of the hairs have shedded which mainly happend around week 3-4. There are some hairs that havent shed, maybe they will not be going the shedding fase? I think I have shedded more hairs in the right side of the hairline, hope this doesnt give asymmetric look. I am still red in the temples and Where the hairs have been transplanted but I guess this is normal? Does anyone know when the red will fade? My donor area seems completely healed. I guess Im in the famous uglyduckling-fase now.
  2. Thanks David and California! The beard grafts were placed in the midscalp and blended in with the scalp grafts.
  3. Hi Im a 26 year old guy from Scandinavia. In March 2016 I travelled to Dr Bhatti in India to get a hairtransplant. I would like to contribute to this forum and share my photos. The HT was done 22. March 2016. My request was to get as much grafts transplanted as possible in one journey. In total he transplanted 4492 grafts, where 606 of them were from my beard. It was all done in one day. According to Dr Bhatti I have approximately 2500 more scalp grafts that can be harvested in the future. After the HT I have carefully been following the after care instructions provides by his clinique. So far I would highly recommend Dr Bhatti. He is very friendly and you will feel that you are in good hands. He is a very busy man but still manage to care for his patients and respond very quickly if there is any questions. I have attached photos of before, right after and 2 weeks after the hairtransplant. I will keep this thread updated.
  4. Hi jamesaus Thank you for writing your story so far. It was very informative and helpfull. I have booked a 2 days apointment with Dr Bhatti in March and also stay at the AB's Hotel. I will also be travelling alone. It seems like after 10 days the donor area is almost healed and you dont have to wear the bandana anymore? I am thinking about maybe staying at the hotel for this period before going back to Scandinavia.
  5. Update I have been using finasteride for 3 months now. Dont think I have seen any improvements(?) What do you think?
  6. This is a very interesting thread. I have done it the opposite way. Im a 26 year old guy from Norway (not far from your country!) and started using a hairpiece at 20 years old. I got my "dream hair" but I am so tired of dealing with the hairpiece. It is really a limit in my life, especially when it comes to love and dating. I am a nw5 and am thinking about a HT with Dr Bhatti in India. I have little over average donor density and good density beard. I have high expectations but understand that I never can get the results of my hairpiece (which is a nw2, with very high density). But I am curious how much I need to lower my expectations. I dont want the result to look like balding.
  7. Thank you for the good answers. I dont think I can be brave enough to throw away the hairpiece right after the transplant before any results. Going from a lot of hair to almost bald. I have a job that is very social and public and cant take all of that attention. I have acctually been thinking about quiting my job and apply for a new job and ask for a 2 month period before starting at the new job. Dr Mike Beehner. Very good advice in regards to using clips and a very narrow tape at the front. In your opinion how long of a "vacation" would I need to take in order for the hairpiece not to affect the results? Could 2 months be enough? I have been wearing the piece for 6 years now, since the age of 20. It is time to do something about this. I have currently taken proscar for 2 months and hoping it can improve my situation. I am planning to do a HT in March after 6 months Use of proscar. And hopefully this time next year I can be confident enough and throw the hairpiece in the trash. What a feeling.. I will Ask my hairdresser to thin out the piece a little before the transition.
  8. Hi Is there anyone here that used a hairpiece over the transplanted hairs after a hairtransplant and then later when the results came removed the hairpiece? I have heard from doctors that you need to not Use the hairpiece for 4-6 weeks after. Has anyone done this and what is your experience? I am currently using a hairpiece.
  9. Hi paleocapa89 I an sorry that you had to experience this situation. Thank you for sharing it. I was considering travelling to this doc for a ht myself, but reading this is so disturbing that I dont think I can take that risk.
  10. Hi harryforreal! I think my case is very hard to see just from the photos. It looks way worse than it actually is and I dont blame people for posting that Im a NW6 or NW7. If I grew the hairs long it would look different. Its a matter of seeing behind the shaved look for the hairpiece. I have many small hairs on top and really hope they can thicken up. Of course there are a lot of people who like bald men. I have heard all the stories. This is not the issue for me. The only thing that matters to me is what I think about my hair situation. The path you are proposing is not an option. I dont care how people respond.
  11. I appreciate your response HTsoon. Thats not what I have read? I have seen studies that most men keep their hair and a majority see regrowth? Anyway.I want to be cheery and think positive. Anything is possible, you just need to choose the right path. Thats my belief in life.
