  1. First couple or indoor lighting and last one is outdoor. I still use a tad bit of toppik, but overall I'm very happy with the results. If I don't use any toppik, at night no one can tell, but during the day it's still a little thin. Highly recommend doing this procedure for those who are on the fence, just research a good doctor and you'll be fine. Peace and love to all.
  2. No product at all. Dry Hair. Direct sunlight. -Let me know your thoughts.
  3. GREAT results. Do you have any pre op pictures before any of the transplants, one or two. Also, I have a very similar case with regards to your hair quality, but have had 3,000 grafts only in the front. I'm hoping I get at least 75% of your coverage.
  4. Healing nicely and just wanted to show a quick pic. I'll continue to document every month moving forward.
  5. Very nicely done. Just had mine done with him 8 days ago.
  6. Thanks for your comment. I plan on getting a haircut as soon as everything heals up (which i was told should be two weeks post op??) The funny thing is I literally just ordered dermmatch last night in preparation for my recovery haha. Also, congrats on your 4th procedure, happy growing
  7. Not much change, but I just want to document as much as possible for myself and others. Very low light. I'll probably check in again after the NEW YEAR and after my first hair cut in a couple weeks. Would love to hear your honest thoughts/feedback and I'm not a sensitive person at all ,so please don't beat around the bush if you think it was a poor job.
  8. ALso, here's my donor area day 5. Strip is healing nicely. I have pretty course hair so I'm hoping I have a few thousand more grafts they can yank out down the line.
  9. Recovery is going well, thanks. No pain, and the the grafts seem to be in good shape too. Although, I am not too pleased with the density. I Really wish the grafts would have been packed closer together with less surface area. I outlined the area in red with what I should have had the doctor do, instead of spreading them back further. Other picture is day 5 post op with low light. My previous transplanted hair, which was 1000 grafts, weren't shaven down completely for the surgery, just trimmed. Let me know your thoughts, would be much appreciated.
  10. Johnny, my brother, your hair looks very good man. I realize you've had two transplants, as I have, and I was in your same position analyzing every single day, checking the mirror, etc.... It does nothing good. Believe me! We as humans are the most critical of ourselves, however, when you become a little too obsessed about the results it is an unhealthy obsession. I am a very honest and blunt person, and would have no problem telling you that you didn't have a good result, but the reality is you have a great result. A few things I'd suggest is to grow your hair out more! It would look much better, that's just pure fact. What's the point of having a hair transplant if you can't grow it and STYLE it nicely. Maybe you just like the buzzed look, which I can respect, but I think with a nice length and a fresh cut, you will be amazed at the difference. I wish you the best brother, and again, I hate to see anyone in this world so down and depressed about something that they really shouldn't have reason for.
  11. Absolutely great tip Croatia, I only pop in the sunlight for a few seconds, snap the pic, and then go back to my dungeon lol. Quick question if anyone reading knows. How soon before I can use Toppik? I was told 10 days should be fine in the recipient area, but that makes me a bit nervous? THoughts??
  12. Excellent density and thanks for sharing. I'm sure you will have fantastic results! I am 4 days post op myself with Dr. meshkin. A tad regretful I didn't push for more grafts to ensure density but it is what it is. Can you let me know your cost? Feel free to check my thread and comment as well. Happy growing!
  13. I don't think he did it so that I would come back. He's just a conservative doctor which I can appreciate. Regardless, my crown is thinning so I'll need another one down the line and that's when I'll also pack the front again. Currently on day 4 and healing nicely. Pic below from today in direct sunlight. Let me know your thoughts. I think I'll need another 1k in the front to ensure density.
  14. Pics in sunlight from today. MAKE THE ITCHING STOP PLEASE LOL Opinions welcome!
  15. Do you have pre op and post op pics from your first surgery with meshkin?
  16. Looking fantastic DEB! Great Density. I just had my second procedure on December 22nd and have had a total of 3,000 grafts in the frontal third, but I dont think I have anywhere near the density you have. If you don't mind taking a look at my thread and posting your opinion I'd love to hear it. 2050 Grafts by Dr. Meshkin - Forum By and for Hair Loss Patients
  17. zero x 2 brotha. You don't need a hair transplant with that great looking head of hair of yours. It seems like you have a naturally maturing hairline which is completely normal as men age. In any case, the decision is solely yours, but from experience from my two surgeries, I wouldn't recommend a HT for anyone unless they have noticeably thinning or balding, never for someone who has a bit of a mature hairline.
  18. JOhnCasper- Thank you for your response. I too have relatively good donor density, and I'm sure I have at least 3,000 more grafts that I'll save for future procedures. I will be posting as many pictures as possible for others to follow my journey, as the pictures others posted was vital for me in making the plunge. MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HANUKKAH, HAPPY KWANZAA, AND ANYTHING ELSE I MISSED TO MY FELLOW FOLLICALLY CHALLENGED FRIENDS!!!! :D
  19. You only live once....Thank you for your reply. I'm not expecting full density but I asked the doctor to do 3,000 grafts on my second procedure and he said "I don't need that many" so I really had no rebuttal. He also claimed that it's very hard to get more than 2,000 grafts for a second procedure so I just took his word for it. . In regards to why I chose him twice it was because of location (less than a 15 minute drive) and he is very moderately priced. He's also a very nice man and my first procedure went fairly smooth.
  20. Hello All, First I'd like to start by thanking this forum itself for being such an integral part of my research and decision making. The support from the patients and doctors on this forum is truly a fantastic thing. So here's my story: I have had two transplants so far, both by Dr. MEshkin. First one was in 2010 and I had 1300 grafts with amazing results that lasted for about 4 years, at which time my native hairs in between the transplanted hairs began to fall out. I was no on Propecia at the time, which I'm still beating myself up for. Fast forward to yesterday in which I'm on my day 1 post op from a procedure than yielded 2050 grafts as seen in the pictures below. My experience with Dr. Meshkin went well, he was nice and professional. I noticed he would try and start some small talk me at the time of the numbing needles going in, which was the most painful part, so that I wouldn't feel the pain. HAHA nice try doc, I appreciated the effort but I still felt the pain. Recovery so far has been decent, sleeping the first night was rough but overall I'd say I'm happy with the results. I wanted to do 3,000 grafts on my second one to ensure density, but the doctor mentioned that because of my first procedure it would be difficult to yield that many. I'm still unsure about his reasoning, as I've seen 4,000+ grafts in one procedure. This is where you all come in for opinions that I'd greatly appreciate. I know I'll need another one in the future if I want true density, but I have 2 main questions i'd like answered. Question 1: Do you think with a total of 3,350 grafts placed in the frontal third portion of my head, I will be able to achieve above average density? Question 2: Does it really look like 2,050 grafts were placed? I mean, I guess I can sit there and count somehow, but for those who are experienced, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I've included my pics from right before my second surgery and right after it as well. I'd LOVE to hear some feedback fellas. Thanks!

  22. I just had my second procedure with Dr. Meshkin yesterday, and I was also done by Lunch time. He did 2000 grafts on me second time, 1000 the first. After you mentioned that Dr. Alexander took almost 5 hours longer, I am worried that maybe Dr. Meshkin rushes through to be able to do 2 procedures per day instead of just one. Anywho, please keep us up to date and also let me know how many grafts you did on your first surgery.
  23. Thanks for your response. I'm on propecia, and I wish I would have started it more recently. I met with Dr. Mohebi and was pleased with him but he is quite expensive.
  24. Hello All, I'm a 31 year old male and have had 1 previous hair transplant (FUT) with around 1200 grafts done when I was 25 years old. The transplant looked great for the first few years, but now my native hair has died, and the remaining hair in the hairline is transplanted with very low density. You can see in the pics below that I need more density in the front. I would like to get everyone's opinions on how many grafts I should get to fully pack in hairline, and I have chosen to go with another strip as I already have the scar. I have pretty good quality hair and great scalp laxity as well. Also, any thoughts on doing a surgery with Dr. Meshkin?
