Hey romperstomper29
I had 2500 graft by FUT this month and everything went fine, although still early days but upto now I am happy with the whole experience.
I know the following forum members have both had FUE by Dr Saifi so I recommend you send them a PM to get they honest options but from my own correspondences with them they both seem happy
they are:
Forest1975 and jacekplacek
I have searched both members by name and neither seems to be listed???

Thanks very much for the feedback I will definitely contact them. Many thanks hope you get great results!

Hi, I am giving serious thought into using Dr Saifi in Poland for a HT. He is not a recommended doctor here however and was just wondering if anyone had any info on he's ability with FUE? Any feeback would be much appreciated
-
Has anyone any experience of this DHT blocker is it stuff of fairytale or is it a genuine alternative to finestride?

cheers for responding anyway mate. Guess I will give fin a try and if it's a success go for the transplant. Ur results must have changed ur lifeCant really tell from these pics mate. I aint a doctor. Why don't you start a thread with pics and maybe more experienced members can share their thoughts. With your hair grown out, it be easier to judge how bad you are. But to me the donor looks weak -
Thanks for the advice Yaz I just attached one more pic. NW7 that's like the worst ain't it? I just wondering if I'm a hopeless case altogether. As u can see I do keep it pretty shortFrom them 2 pics, I would say you headig to a nw7. Fin will defo really help you. If your on minxo, then use fin. They work well reallt together. Dump the other crap and stick to the two proven meds -
Without fin, it is dangerous. If your saying you are quite bald, fin will have a good effect on the donor hair. Besides it helps other hair too, not just the crown. I have had no side-effects at all and I am nearly 27. For younger guys it wise to be on fin as you never know where you will end up on the norwood scale. Fin is a good weapon for diffuse loss, as I figured. It doesn't stop hair loss but will reduce it.
I'm 29 and have been losing my hair for the past 2 years I'm on minoxidil lasercomb and herbal DHT blockers but inevitably I feel fin would trump all 3 if I go on it.

in ur experience do you think without fin that a transplant might be very risky. I never wanted to try fin but it looks like it is my only option if I really want to get a transplant as my balding is pretty serious at 29Thanks for the compliments! Thats a good plan. I would suggest sticking to fin for a year before heading out for surgery -
Wow Yaz read the whole thing there what a journey. Congrats to you man. I emailed a number of surgeons with photos lookin for suggestions. All responses varied but Dr koray's stood out as he's reply was you must take fin for 6 months before I would consider you as a patient. So I'm thinking of goin on fin and see if I can avoid the sides

Myself & other members gave you good solid advice here.
Take time & have a good read through the forum as it seems like your locked in to see them wow transplants which is more likely the exception to the rule than the rule itself.
A above average donor Pt may get 10K grafts that proberly won't cover a NW6 your talking. Pulling 4K & you look like your way below the average even though its hard to gage with them Pics you posted.
Do yourself a fav have a good read up & go & see several good HT docs & if you have to jump on a Ryan air to have a one on one with a top Dr/s so be it.
Nobody is pushing all selling drugs here but at least try in small dose at the start with Fin may go a long way short & long term & edge your bets to protect what you have left & also your investment if you decide to go the HT route..
Again....young age, No Fin, doing HT = RISKY.
I really appreciate ur advice it is very insightful. I am thinking of give the fin a chance maybe it will work without a hitch. I suppose parting with 10k to inevititably stay shaving my head would be depressing

A surgeon has just got back to me also saying he won't do anything for me unless I start fin for 6 months. Might give the fin a go so. There's always viagra:)You need to get educated about hair loss. MPB is a game with moving goalposts, you're facing aggressive loss at a young age and you've put yourself at a disadvantage by not taking fin. You can put 4000 grafts now, but when you lose more, then what? There will be visible scaring if you extract that many grafts. -

Does anyone actually know a real person who has suffered chemical castration from taking fin?
-
Thank you but an in person consultation is not an option unfortunately. Have you had any side effects on fin? Are they as common as people make out?
-
Wow. That was insightful. So what ur basically saying is I'm pretty much f**ked if I don't go on to fin??
-
No you won't Romperstomper.
You probably need to do more research on the limitations of hair transplants and the progression of hair loss.
That's not very insightful chrisdav. Maybe I'm I'm slightly optimistic but iv seen excellent results lately and see no reason why I can't get good results with the right surgeon. What I can take from ur quote is mainly don't waste my time?

Hi Mate,
You have a large balding crown which looks to be dipping quite significantly into your donor zone too , you could put 4K grafts alone into that crown and still be thin there, its a nightmare area im afraid
If I was you and concentrate on framing your face and by going FUE you could shave your head fairly short and have a cool look that way
I see you're from Ireland so I'd really recommend jumping on a plane to Belgium(short flight and cheap as chips) and have in person consults with Bisanga and Feriduni before you commit any further, even if you dont choose them to be your HT surgeon you will get great feedback
Best of luck
Thanks for all the feedback guys. Yonex I'm not too worried about that back crown area as how I used to wear my hair and wud like to in the future is similar to this photo below. If I cud just get enough on top I would be happy. Is this possible with 4000 grafts. Again thanks for ur input
-
Ok guys so what ye are saying is if getting a transplant just do frontal mainly to see the extent of the Crown balding? But I have no interest in just the front looking well I'd still rather keep the lot tight than have a good frontal look. I hear u could use body hair for the crown if it came to it. I'm all or nothing I feel. Thanks for the link ontop but I feel that particular guy may have chosen the wrong surgeon in that instance

Don't agree...
Frame your face will do wonders to you.
Okay....have you thought about them weak folicals you have left.
Doing a large HT may give them weak folicals may go into shockloss & yep more often return but who's to say your scalp took so much trama them folicals won't recover so it be perm shockloss.
That could well happen..
All I can say....be smart.
I hadn't thought of the shockloss that is true but I have seen some very bald cases get excellent results with large HT. If all else fails ill just be back where I started cutting it very short:)
-
Family genes plays a role in MPB but who's to really say what you end up with in the future?
Having a HT won't cure your problem it just robs peter to pay paul that's it.
Your MPB won't go away.
What happens when peter got nothing to rob down the line? Where you go then?
Thanks for the feedback ontop. I just think working on the front will not do much for my condition if I was to get say 4000 grafts all over then it wud make a significant difference to my thinning. Ur right the pictures aren't showing enough I'm not as bald as I look:)
-
My post above states why...
Young age, No Fin = Risky ....cas you could loose a lot more hair behind the transplant.
That's why members is telling you & if your set on HT just frame the face..& save your bank donor aslong as possible.
Do to family history etc I think this is as much as I will lose what do you think of banging 4000 grafts into the thinning area?
-
-
Could you elaborate on why not ? That's not very informative no offence.
-
But why get 2500 if ultimately I'm gonna need 4000. Not on finestride as I'm not willing to risk the side effects. On minoxidil, procerin and lasercomb
-
Hi all,
First post ever. but find all the info excellent:) I am wondering how many grafts I need? Dr marwan saifi recommended 2500. dr hakan doganay 4000 and dr. freiduni 2800- 3500 with need for additional 1500 on crown in a second transplant. If anyone could tell me what they think it would be much appreciated. cheers
