  1. I don't want to spook u man but a lot of dodgy cases were reported involving Dr Doganay here recently. U said in ur last thread that over the two days doganay only done 2 hours of the surgery that is very poor from him. It would seem technicians done 90% of ur surgery. U could be a slow grower so don't panic yet but for the amount of grafts you have had and the growth so far it's possible you may be another case of dodgy work from this surgeon. I hope not lad. Ull have to ride it out for a few months.

  2. you've come a long way and its already a significant improvement from your pre-HT stage, the hairline looks to have been placed just right and as soon as you start adding some more density - I think you're going to be very happy - I too like the unique extraction pattern and strip that was leave unharvested! very interesting - congrats and continued best wishes in your growing!

Thanks you very much mate. Have you a thread somewhere how many grafts did you get with Rahal? ur own profile pic is impressive

  3. You're really coming along dude! Remember 5 months is still very early, the next few months should be exciting. Also good on you for the overhead shot-95% of the time this is absent when people or clinics share.

Stay away from that mirror ;)

Ha, the mirror obsession has passed thankfully. As for the overhead shot just keeping it realistic. It's easy take the pics that make it look really dense just goes to show clinics can make a pic look great by a simple lighting adjustment.

Just looked at your pre-op and for 2K grafts this is a solid result. I think you probably need to do another 1-1.5K down the road to get the desired density you are wishing for. HTSoon did 4K in a similar area for comparison. I think you were a bit more hairy than him going into the procedure though.

The important thing is from the front view you already look really good and in 6 months it will be even better. Only birds and 6'5 men will really be able to see some of the issues from overhead. Unless you are 5'1 and then maybe quite a few more people may notice ;)

Thanks for the feedback mate. I'm lucky I'm 6ft 2 so it's mainly birds that will be looking down on my scalp ha. I am of the same thinking that a 2nd pass would be needed down the line but hoping I might get a few years out of this one first. I never had crazy expectations to begin with considering my level of loss but I'm extremely happy so far and as you said for 2,000 grafts I'm very happy. The best is when people sayin I don't kno why you were buzzing your hair these last few years:D

  4. Coming on great. Hopefully more growth to come. Have you tried a bit of toppik, to see if it gives it a volume boost?

Ya man I have tried it just once and it made my hair look great but I don't want to get into the habit of using it as it's time consuming and would i'd be worried bout rain wind etc so I'm not going to use it but it has a great effect. I can see why celebrities etc would use it for big nights etc. I'm hoping it will all thicken more and I won't need it :D

  5. Today is the 5month mark. Longest 5months of my life. I don't look into the mirror every 2minutes anymore to check if there is any growth which is great. I'm just letting it do its thing but nobody really can explain how hard the first few months are waiting to see if anything will happen. Anyway some pictures and I tried taking a few in harsh light as it wouldn't be fair to make them look great in favourable lighting which can easily be done. It is still light in mid-scalp and right is slightly behind the left but am hoping for it to thicken up. Overall I'm delighted at the 5 month mark and have gotten lots of compliments and people asking why was I shaving it. here's hoping for more thickening.

  6. It's looking great and at only 4.5 months
Thanks man, thanks for the feedback.

I think it looks on par with the month you're at. I'd expect that to thicken up as months go by. the daylight picture is the best way to judge it and I think it looks good imo.
Thanks for the feedback wizz cheers. Daylight there is no hiding place that's why I put it in. Hoping it will thicken up nicely over the next few months fingers crossed
  7. I am just approaching the 4.5 month mark I was going to wait until 5 months but there has been some changes since last month. Iv recently noticed the hair darkening and getting a little bit thicker. I have got to say sometimes it changes over what seems like overnight. I have put up a few pics in what I would call normal light and one is outside under harsh light so u can see that it is still quite thin. Also one of the donor. Donor looks light because the way the barber done it with a #1 fade.

  8. also remember the risk of donor scarring if you choose a crap doctor.

I know you have your eyes on feriduni wich i Thinkis a good choise IF one needs a HT.

So donor Area should look just fine if you go with feriduni but nothing in This business is bulletproof. There is allways a chance that things doesnt go as planed. And i Think it happens more than we really know

This is my donor 1 year post op after 1300 grafts.

My second HT the doc exstracted from an higher Area and spread it more out and i Got a total of 1600 grafts. Donor looks like it have never been touched.

Johnny that looks to be fairly extensive FUE scarring in the lower part of ur donor region. Was that caused by your 1st procedure?

  9. Looks terrific for 3.5 months
    Cheers mate

Looking good romp, I see big improvements already, your just getting to the good parts.:D
it's been a long few months mate just hoping iv turned the corner

    Looking good man.

Petchski served me an awesome reminder and way to look at this process---This is the one time in your life where you'll have more hair with each month that passes ;) At 3.5 months I'm right there with ya.... just think, it'll get better from here.

That's a good way of looking at it. I find myself waking up every morning and hoping it's all thickened up overnight. My patience is running on empty. Hope ur going well.

  10. Just a quick update for the sake of the forum. Its been just over 3.5 months now. Iv stopped buzzing my head and am letting it grow. In the past 3 weeks I have noticed growth and can see new hairs just starting. I have lots of thin vellus hairs which are not making any cosmetic difference so far but I'm sure/hopeful these will thicken up. In certain lighting my hair looks great and in others it looks shit. These pics are between the two. I'm finding it hard to be patient but there's not a lot I can do only wait.

  11. Guys... There is one thing we all should think about.

    As example J.K. Rowling.

She gets famous for her Harry Potter books.

But she started with other books first.

So i'd say if she never started the books before.. If she just said: I can't do this.

She'd never become as rich and famous as she is today.

Maybe thats an bad example but it was the first one i thaught about..

So look at Dr. Feller... or Dr. Erdogan, or Dr. Lorenzo or all the other recommendet doctors here..

Neither Dr. Feller nor Dr. Erdogan or ANYONE starts as a "hairtransplantstar".

They all started in the past.

And Dr. Blake is starteing now.

Im 100% sure Dr. Feller learned him everything he knows about it and if Dr. Blake is not good enough in his eyes... Dr. Blake would not be allowed to work on the patients.

I know, everyone would like to go to the more experienced doc.

But think about it... If noone went to those docs before they want be where they are today.

We need young docs as Blake.

Maybe he is the next "Feller" or "Wong" in 10 years or so.

    I dont know.

    You dont know.

    Time will tell us.

    So the only question is:

Do the patients know that maybe Dr. Blake do the work or not.

    All the best

With the utmost respect mate nobody is arguing the fact that we need upcoming hair transplant surgeons, and of course they need to train etc. The issue at hand here is the misleading/deceptive nature in which a patient may blindly go in for surgery with a surgeon they had researched for up to a year and then end up with a trainee/rookie performing their surgery without their prior consent(thinly veiled consent form aside) or indeed any knowledge that someone other than the original surgeon might perform their surgery.

  12. Yeah its a light hold. Kind of like you hair would look at the end of the day if you threw some gel in earlier than morning. Definitely for someone who prefers a lighter look.

Also, the thicker the hold the more the hairs clump together the less visually dense it will look. Just something to factor too.

That is a very valid point so I went with something very light and no more than a pea sized amount will be used. What kind of leave in conditioner might you recommend just incase it ends up not to my liking. I'd rather leave it dry without any product than sacrifice visual density
