  1. Unbelievable results! Strangely reassuring for a young guy with too much chest hair and not enough on top!
  2. HR23+ has got scam written all over it. It looks like the digestible theradome. Marketing, hype and a twitter account repeating the same thing over and over again. I guess the guy on your thread has a vested interest in promoting it here. Also, at 50 gbp per supply, there is just no way anyone sensible would go for it
  3. Hmm interesting...where could one obtain this RU business?
  4. Enough said. I'm new to the forum in terms of posting, but have lurked for a long time. Finally gotten around to posting a bit about a few things, and messaged Joe privately with a question, as he was obviously such an experienced guy. Actually, I was made aware of him through stumbling upon Spex's site, and was reassured of the quality of info on here when I saw he had been posting - Like others have said, that experience is an asset to the forum. Since then i've exchanged numerous e-mails and had some solid advice from him. My point is that if he spends this kind of time looking at pics and corresponding with complete strangers, he's well entitled to be compensated for it somehow. I see him as a consultant offering services to HT surgeons which he trusts, and I see this forum as an excellent ethical marketplace based on commendable membership standards. The co-existence of the two strengthen the others legitimacy.
  5. I predict I would regret it considerably more if I had irreversible sides from it, no matter how slight the risk of them occurring is. Losing my hair this much at this age is hell and completely f****ng my entire psyche up, so obviously is a huge issue for me, however I imagine there are plenty of guys out there who really wish they'd learned to cope with baldness instead of putting their health and reproductive abilities at risk. There might be and I do hope you are right, but the only things in the pipeline at the moment are Replicel/Shiseido & Bimatoprost...and they seems to be following the same paths as all the other "wonder cures" we've been promised....hype, hype...delay....nothing. Baldness at 25 makes one a horrible cynic...
  6. I've thought about it, but as the sides can be permanent it's still a bit risk. Tbh, I have lost all hope of there ever being something better than Fin being developed. There is just too much money in things the way they currently are, even in 5 or 10 years I doubt much will have changed.
  7. Because there is a much smaller chance that it would be able to go systematic.....
  8. In the same position ...kinda. Want to get a HT but been told by several people not to bother unless i'm on meds. Whilst I think Minox is never going to hurt, Fin is something I am concerned about. See below in the Hairloss treatments forum, I've posted about topical meds as a possibly option, hoping someone can advise on it!
  9. Hey, Have been advised by several parties recently to get on Finasteride/Propecia but not at all keen to do so based on the potential sides. I've been weighing it up in my head for the last couple of days, read some scary stuff about it (ED, Peyronies, Gyno, to name but a few) I know research indicates prevalence of such sides is less than 2%, but I'm sure statistical significance means nothing to the guys sitting there with the non functioning penis, or the guys posting in the thread below.... I've been pretty much told that unless I get on meds, there is no point in getting a HT, which leaves me with 0 options really. The only hope I can see of this working out is potentially a topical anti androgen. Having looked into it, topical Spiro seems like a possibility, though you can't get it in europe as far as I can see... I'd be keen to hear from anyone who has experience with Sprio or other Topicals...Do you feel it is another snake oil or is there genuine potential in them? Cheers, G
  10. Aside from these two + Hakan Doganay...can anyone advise on other good HT surgeons on Turkey? Anyone know anything about Dr Civas?
  11. Bro if you quit masturbating it would have grown back without the HT....
  12. Hi mate, looking great - very encouraging. Dr Civas is one of the surgeons I have been considering and I'm really glad to see him produce such good results. Thanks for posting and please continue to upload! Quick question - did he offer you the chance to do FUT or was only FUE discussed? Cheers!
  13. Cheers Dolph..funnily enough I was in contact with Dr Saifi already concerning a HT and got a very good feeling about him! That is a great result, and the best I have seen on a blond guy for sure. Thanks for posting it! Very encouraging!
  14. Thanks for the reply - It's more the awareness that blonde hair is generally finer combined with the lack of successful transplants i've seen online. Deductive reasoning leads me to assume that the result i'm hoping for isn't realistic based on that, even if I have seen some HT's in different hair colours which truly do look exactly like what i'm hoping for. I think dismissing getting a HT if i'm not willing to take Fin is a bit extreme... a lot of guys on here have had HTs without anti androgens with good results. I understand hairloss can progress of course, but for that reason, I would start with an FUT and ensure I had enough donor hair left for future procedures. I'm 25, still have a lot ahead of me in terms of kids, partners etc, and I just really don't want to risk messing up my hormones. Despite how safe Merck claims it to be, evidence suggests side effects are much more prevalent than first though (this was actually in the news this week where I am, funnily enough) If there are alternatives to fin, I would definitely consider them though...thinking S5 or topical spiro, saw palmetto etc.
  15. Hey, thanks for the input. Yeah I've been told that many times, however the issue for me really is that I don't trust that there won't be sides. I just wish there was an alternative to fin and I would do it, 100%
  16. Above all else, that is a damn fine Moustache you have there. Thanks for the input, definitely put my mind a bit at ease about being blonde and trying to get this done!
  17. Hi Blake, Thanks a lot for the reply! I guess the main question I have is whether to go for a large amount of grafts for the first session if it is a strip session despite still being young, or keep it conservative. I just don't like the idea of risking bad scarring for fewer grafts Also, as one of the mods here, who would you suggest looking at for FUT in europe (incl Turkey)? When do you think mFUE will take off here? Cheers, gbh.
  18. Wow...Just read that. That is unbelievable. In their marketing jargon - "Hair transplant in Turkey by Longevita’s hair restoration specialists ", "Longevita hair transplant surgeons in Turkey are very experienced and talented in hair loss treatment"...then in T&Cs ...surgeons have nothing to do with us, and if you dare speak ill of us for a bad outcome we will take 5,000 compensation. Was actually looking at going through them for the HT. Definitely not any more!
  19. Sorry for bringing this full circle again, and I really hope I don't instigate another huge round of discussions and personal derision. I'm a young guy (25), not on fin and probably around NW3 or 4 on top - donor area seems pretty good (though what do I know?) Hair loss is having far to big an impact on my psyche and holding me back from starting my career, playing the sport I love and leaving home without a cap on, so I've decided to explore the transplant route. From what I have understood ( please correct me if I am wrong) FUT has a higher yield and leaves donor area intact, yet linear scarring will be visible to some extent, FUE doesn't have the same yield - at least not from surgeons here in Europe which I can afford but is quicker to recover from with less noticeable scarring. mFUE provides a comparably high yield with FUT with the other benefits of FUE - a kind of panacea...yet is only performed my a few surgeons in the US. So based on this, a strategy I am considering is to go for a strip session now, wait to see how my hair loss progresses and get another procedure in the future by FUE/mFUE. I have a lot of chest & beard hair, and could potentially use this to fill in the scar if it bothers me, right? Does this make sense? As always, i'd really appreciate any advice/tips you can give. Cheers.
  20. Hmm okay, I guess I just haven't seen any good transplants on blonde guys. I'm kind of hoping to go back to the kind of surfer hairstyle I had a couple years ago (albeit the malnourished version) but hav never seen that done following HT. A good surgeon is definitely my main concern - i'm in europe and have a few in mind. Thinking mainly of going to Turkey with Dr Karadeniz at AEK or Dr Civas. I know over in the states there is more choice of great quality but it's just too costly to fly over. I currently don't take Fin as I am terrified of the sides, but I know the risks that might pose for getting a HT then having further shedding. I'm half thinking of going for a 3500 graft session, hoping it can get me through the next ten years or so by which stage, SURELY they will have a cure for this?!?!?! That or i'll be married with kinds and just not care any more....
  21. Glad you like it - thought it would be good as a reminder to everyone that even with hair, we can look ridiculous... What do you mean by a consideration in the overall plan? If I were to be considering a HT, what would I need to consider? Would really appreciate any advice1
  22. Hey guys (and I guess there might be some girls here too?) I'm on a huge downer about my hairloss at the moment, it's been basically shedding and thinning for over 4 years now (im 25) and my family and doctors have always discouraged me taking action (it was apparently all in my head). Not the case. I'm NW4, recently confirmed by some smug dermatologist (well you should have handled it sooner). Really pissed at everything just now. HT is the only way I can see a positive outcome here, but even then I am becoming really disheartened with some of the results I have seen posted of transplants with blonde hair. I know to be realistic and set achievable expectations, but I'm really worried that blonde HTs just look so unsuccessful. As a young blonde guy, this is really upsetting. So i'm turning to the community - anyone out there have blonde hair and HT experience? Or can anyone show me some good blonde HT's? Am I right in perceiving there to be a discrepancy in outcome of HTs on blonde guys? Cheers for your input
