Contrarian opinion, but the risks associated with FUT are significantly larger and have to be considered in the equation. Unless you're dealing with motorised or overly large punch tools (0.85mm or larger for Caucasians) you will virtually never see abnormal or disaster cases among top surgeons skilled at FUE megassessions, and more than acceptable results on average donors with up to 5000 grafts. Consistently on the other hand you will see FUT scarring and shock loss even with top surgeons where a month of hair growth does not cover the scar, which is clearly indented and visible.  Unless you're dealing with a situation of a well below average donor or NW6 where the donor looks depleted before even having been touched in surgery then the risks are far higher with FUT.  It's true that maybe 95% of FUT will achieve a lower magnitude of scarring than if they went with FUE and scarring will be close to pencil thin, but look at how many bad scars and shockloss occur with top surgeons and ask yourself if its worth it for the 19/20 who doesn't have that experience and effectively ruins their donor in a single procedure.

There isn't a single shred of evidence that FUE makes a substantive impact on potential to have FUT in future either. The question that should be asked is whether or not you can achieve the results you are after long and short-term with FUE, if you're the rare patient that clearly can't (NW6 or well below average donor) then consider FUT.  Erdogan and Lorenzo consistently achieve successful donor management with graft numbers in the 5-7000 range, Vories doesn't as often get into this range but also has cases showing this.

JeanLDD     Nice post hope I never in a position where I have to get a FUT

You get a full year - and you can get the scrip filled monthly or every 90 days (that's my preference).

So basically, for returning customers each year my consult is about $80 plus cost of them shipping me my physical prescription I take to the pharmacy.

In the 90's and early 00's I had a great primary care physician that would write me scrips for propecia & then in 2002 Avodart.  She left her practice in '08 and I'm too lazy to haggle w/a dermatologist about writing me a scrip - so I use online now.

Also, I take oral minox & oral spiro - no U.S. doctor will prescribe those at 10-20mgs daily and 100mg daily respectively, so I buy them from online pharmacies overseas.

I eventually tired of using 30% custom-compounded minox cream for my scalp after many years and before that I was using 5% minox.  So, several months ago I switched over to oral minox/oral spiro combo which is way more convenient and from the research I did for several years, the systemic effect is better than topical.

Frankly, I don't even recommend younger people have transplants or take medications - I'm 51 and been in the game so long and frankly - if you have early hairloss you eventually will lose almost all your hair regardless of the drugs.

It just slows it down over time.  Even early reversal of hairloss or halting of hairloss after 20+ years the inevitable takes over if you have family history and early hairloss going against you.

I also don't recommend transplants to younger people either, though I have had many surgeries and will have a few more in the next 2-3 years.  If I had a clean slate, so to speak I would now just let nature take over.

Good luck on your upcoming transplant.  Being older and having surgery is always way more advisable.  For the very mature younger person who knows all the pros and cons - they'll always have surgery anyways no matter what anyone says to them.

Thats really good service you lucked into I'd like to try the minox/oral spiro combo  where you getting that at ?

I have a doctor that writes me for brand-name avodart one per day www.medicalwellnesscenter.com and my insurance covers the cost.

For the other capsule I go online and buy from www.inhousepharmacy.vu (I get the brand name, not generic here as well).

Good job I like that Online Consult Only $49.95 how many refills do you get before they make you do another $49.95 Consult

https://www.reliablerxpharmacy.com/   is another very popular and cheap  overseas pharmacy  no script needed  been using them for about 5yrs they always come through

Sure - been using it since 2002.

You're starting late so maybe it will help your hair or stabilize it a bit more for the next 10 years.

Whats the most typical dose to start with and what are you taking after being on it for so many years ?

I had scheduled my surgery with his clinic alvi Armani in Beverly Hills .. which is now run by doctor Baubac who was trained by doctor Armani. in December 2017 for 1400 grafts of FUe.. one week before the surgery The doctor canceled on me and wanted me to stay on propecia for a year first .. n reschedule when my hair has stabilized .. the alvi Armani clinic / doctor baubac didn’t want me to chase my hairline since I was only. Norwood 2 n just started experiencing hairloss. .. at first I was bummed out .. but now I’m very grateful n feel their clinic has great ethics n does great dense hairlines . ..it’s been 4 months now since they canceled on me .. n thank goodness , I lost a lot my hair .. now I’m nearing a Norwood 3 .. if they didn’t cancel on me .. I would be having multiple surgeries and chasing my hairline for the next few years .. even though I never met the man , but a thumbs up n rest In peace doctor Armani .. may ur legacy live on ..

I'm just in the middle of doing an online consult with Dr. Baubac  going back and forth in emails with his patient advisor Chad

Waiting now to hear what the good doctor has to say

  7. Good place to start

Here's 2 of the most moderately priced and best doctors in the business doing amazing work and approved on this forum

    Dr. Koray Erdogan from Turkey

    Dr. Maras HDC Cyprus Greece

Also theres Dr. Emrah Cinik from Turkey not approved here yet but worth taking a serious look at if money is your main issue hes super low cost

Resent and past reviews of his work look impressive also

If I was you I would start by checking the good doctors sites looking at there work prices pictures then doing a search the doctors last names on this and others forums viewing more pictures of there work reading peoples personal reviews and everything else you can find on the doctors

Then get some of your own pictures ready front back sides and top and send them around to the doctors online consultations

    Good luck
