I had my HT with Dr Bhatti on Sep 1th 2014. This was my first FUE (previous one was a FUT which was not very successful). The surgery was done in a day and was for about 2400 grafts. I have included the pictures at various stages. Though I am satisfied with the progress, it appears to be very slow and the density is not as much as I expected. Any comments?

What's Toppik Hair Fattener? I have heard for Toppik hairbuilding fibres? How is Hair Fattener different from the hairbuilding fibres?

Which BHT is better - beard or chest hair?
dds replied to dds's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Based on my doctor's estimate, I would need about 3000 grafts - 1000 from scalp and the rest through BHT. He is suggesting 500 from beard and 1500 from chest. I am leaning towards 2000 from chest as it's less visible than beard. Moreover this would eliminate 3 donor areas (scalp, face, chest) if I go with scalp and chest. Most of these new grafts would be for the middle and crown area. -
Does anyone have any opinion as to which offers better success - hair from beard or form the chest? From aesthetic perspective it appears chest may be a better option as it's less visible to others than the beard. How about the quality of transplanted hair (texture specifically)? Would chest hair be equally good (or comparable from the scalp)?

Any comments on my 5th month post op pictures? Is my growth normal?

Here are my 5th month post op pictures. Though there is slight improvement, I am not sure if this is normal or should I be concerned

I had a previous transplant (FUT) some 10 years ago. Do you think it grows slowly on the area where it was already transplanted? I haven't visited the clinic as Dr Bhatti is in India and I am in the U.S. If the results are good, I plan to go this summer for my 2nd HT. As you said, I will wait for 6 months before gauging the success rate. Thanks for your encouragement.

Yes, I am updating Dr Bhatti on the progress. He asked me to wait at least for 5 months. My hair growth is slower than normal. I didn't apply vitamin E - didn't know about this.

Here's my 4th month post op update. Though I see several hairs coming out., I am not sure the density is OK for 4 month post op.

Taj Chandigarh is a very good hotel close to Dr Bhatti's office. I stayed there last month and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality, food and comfort.

My major limitation is lack of donor hair. Since I will be parting my hair (on my left), Dr Bhatti thought it would be good to give more density on my left side. So, if my wear my hair reasonably long, it would cover the middle, where the density is poor. I am planning to go back next year and get another 2000 grafts(from beard,BHT) to fill the top and crown.

Finally I took the plunge and had a 2027 FUE with Dr Bhatti. Suregery went well with minimum pain and discomfort. Since my donor hair was not sufficient,, he could cover only half the area with the remainings scheduled for a later session. I will post pictures later. Even with taking utmost caution, I have already lost 2 or 3 grafts - probably while removing and putting back the hat the clinic asks to use. A few questions to those who had HT with Dr Bhatti. 1. Till when are the chances of loosing grafts likely? 2. Did you continue taking all the medication the surgeon gave? I am thinking of stopping medication from the 3rd day as the remaining medication seems to be pain killers or heal the donor fast. 3. Is it required to follow the shampooing twice a week for 3 weeks or can we cut down to once every other day or so? 4. Is it mandatory to use the Minoxidil and Finasteride they have asked us to use? I am trying to mimimize use of these drugs unless absolutely needed.

3034 FUE Grafts, Dr Bhatti Chandigarh India
dds replied to ash809's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Thanks for the response. I was told that with the premium package, transection rates would be much lower, since he uses a brand new punch. Your post op pictures doesn't show any redness (except for the bump) which is amazing. I have seen other cases, where the redness lasts more than 3 months. Good luck. -
For the pricing, almost all HT surgeons base this on the number of grafts. How does the number of grafts correspond to the number of extractions made in the donor area? For eg, if they extract 2000 grafts and transplant 3000 (assuming some are singles and doubles as well) do they charge for the 2000 grafts or 3000 grafts?

3034 FUE Grafts, Dr Bhatti Chandigarh India

Looks great. I too have scheduled a HT with Dr Bhatti for next week. A few questions 1. How was the pain while initially when administering anaesthesia on the scalp? 2. How long does the pain last after the anaesthesia wears off? 3. After the HT, how many does signs of blood last? 4. Did you opt for the standard package or premium package? 5. Are you wearing a hat or cap to protect the grafts from sunlight/dust? -
But I have read numerous case studies where PRP is used outside of hair transplant for pain management and to heal faster. Some case studies appears to have helped in cosmetic surgery (for skin). If this is true, I hope PRP would help heal the receipent area faster (from wounds due to incisions)

I have scheduled a hair transplant surgery with Dr Bhatti in Sep. I am hoping to have around 3000 grafts transplanted. I am debating if I should have the doctor include PRP during hair transplantation. I understand that PRP is yet to be proven to regrow hair. But I am wondering if PRP would reduce scaring and help the wounds heal faster. Any thoughts?
