  1. so Lebron unveiled his new shoe yesterday and a new hairline with it. what do you guys think he did? i thought maybe a transplant at first.. but i just went back to his icebucket challenge video and he looks pretty bald there. thoughts?
  2. hey guys, so last night i was 24 days post op. so far so good.. had no issues. So as i was lying awake using my lasptop yesterday.. i felt a little bump on my recipient area.. and i didnt want to pick at it or anything bad.. so what i did was take the surface of my finger nail (not the sharp area, but the flat area) and kind of press it against that spot. I didnt think much of it until i went to the bathroom and saw a little blood area. And i was a little surprised. i wasnt sure if it was maybe a pimple i may have popped due to the pressure i put on it or if i just lost a graft? can someone fill me in as im a little worried. blood was not oozing out. it was just at that one spot. also how does pressure from pressing ur nail against a spot on my head result in a lost graft? is it possible?? especially 24 days post op?
  3. hey guys, i had my second op done about a month ago. the transplanted hairs have mostly shed now. But it seems to me that my frontal and hairline area seem to be thinner than it was initially. the hair that were there were all transplanted hairs from my last op though.. not native hair. I dont know if my mind is playing tricks on me because of all the shedding.. but it really does seem to me that i am a little thinner up front now than pre 2nd surgery. Its hard to tell with my frontal area being so short. Can someone maye enlighten me a little. I hope i didnt lose any hairs permanently.
  4. thanks doug. Im 13 days post op now. yesterday all of the scabs and crusts were completely gone.. Hopefully time starts to fly!
  5. hey guys, i just thought id post my previous results from the day i went in as a repair patient to the results i had showed Hasson and wong when i went in for my second op. they took some pics of my hair before we shaved it for the second procedure. i also managed to get a pic of my frontal area shaved again just before the 2nd surgery so you guys can see the difference between pre surgery with h&W to how far I've come along already. btw, the first procedure was a year and a few months ago. it was a total of 3053 grafts. note: I will post my results on this second procedure as time goes by.. anyway, here we are btw, id like to mention I'm surprised at home great my recovery has been. ZERO pain, all i have to deal with is a half shaved head lol. Once my hair grows back i should be back to normal
  6. trust me man, you have no idea how bad things got for me. from the time of my butchered surgery which was in may 2011 to when hasson saved me (around sept 2013 once grafts grew in) I was hopeless depressed and miserable. I lost all my confidence, my girlfriend, and more.. 100% of that was due to the fact that i couldn't even love myself.. how could i love another person.. long story.. but i just gave u that small sample just so you know i feel you. i GUARANTEE you it can be better done if not fixed by the same surgeon.
  7. killamanjaro, i see where you're coming from. Completely understand. You feel he would be utterly contradicting himself by stating the opposite opinion just a few short months later and conveniently at a state of a job shift. But at the same time, i don't believe joe has come out and stated that he feels fue is better than strip. so lets not knock his credibility. At the end of the day from what I've seen, he is more 'one of the guys' here than he is a 'corporate stooge' i think if anything, maybe he will try to cater to his new employer and be a little more optimistic about fue now that its available where he is at (which is what any employee would do).. but that doesn't neccesarily mean he feels fue is better overall.
  8. just thought id post here to let everyone know il be sharing my growth stages over here. so keep an eye out for pics
  9. hm he seems ti have a good background which is a great thing. I guess its up to you now to decide do you want someone who seems promising.. or someone that is promising and been doing this for years upon year.. dr hasson was my choice. if you like we could talk over the phone. i live in your area. i would be happy to discuss all of this with you and get you in touch to those people further if thats where you choose to go. Pm me if you want. my flight from lax took me 2 and a half hours. thats pretty manageable. but anyway, spk then
  10. Yeah I have some commitments back at home so I couldn't stay the extra day. Doctor hasson tried to convince me to stay one more day but I just couldn't. It's ok though. I feel great. No pain or anything.
  11. bro i live in southern cali my self. and i am sitting at the airport in Vancouver waiting for my flight back to lax. Why? because i just had my 2nd successful surgery at Hasson and wong yesterday. I had a surgery in la before at a place called sampson or something like that. they almost ruined my life.. If you could give me the name of his clinic il help you research.. but from experience.. my advice to you would be to spend the cash and go to one of the BEST surgeons out there. Dr hasson really saved me. I was basically a butchered repair case a year and a half ago.. now I'm 1 day post surgery number two (this surgery was the cherry on top of a previous surgery that looked incredible already) btw, the place that butchered me also offered me 10 free laser hair treatments lol
  12. hey no problem at all. chat then. If you like i can give u my cell number in my reply and i can give u my input over the phone. might be easier
  13. thanks joe, I'm at the airport now waiting for my flight back home. sucks i didn't get to see you there. hope all is well bro
  14. how are you doing my brother? i was actually recently in saudi myself lol. Judging from your situation, i would say 5k is a great amount to make things look good. I think with the right doctor 4000 maybe be possible. It just won't be very dense. I think you should try to first find a doctor that ha sa great reputation at yielding the most possible grafts. I think rahal has this reputation. I personally did mine with dr hasson and my results are very very good. I could not be happier. I chose doctor hasson because it was them who revolutionized the lateral slit technique. A technique all the other doctors chose to follow. It gave me a great sense of credibility in their work. Infact I just came in yesterday for another surgery with him and he densed up my hairline and right behind it. I can't wait to see how it looks. If you would like to see my pics and if you have any questions regarding my experience at hasson and wong then don't be shy to ask. rahal is a good choice too. I also considered him. I can't speak for the others as i don't have much knowledge of their work.
  15. i just saw it now. Hopefully everyone is happy and it worked out for the best on both sides. Rahal got a great guy. And as for hasson and wong; They are so great at what they do, their work can easily speak for itself.
  16. hey follically challenged. I feel your pain. Trust me I do. I had a miserably failed transplant.. it had ruined me. plus I lost all my native hair due to shock in the area within 3-4 months post op. They offered me a free touch up because i literally went nuts about them, I rejected the offer. I ended up at H&W as a repair patient on jan 2013 and my life has been saved. (funny enough my choices were between hasson and rahal) So like i said, i do share your experience. I would recommend you still consider dr rahal based on the fact that he does have a good rep.. so maybe it was a once in a while dud you experienced. but if you don't feel comfortable going with another surgery by the same man without that feel of a guarantee. then try dr hasson like i did. He really worked magic for me. I say magic because working with a virgin scalp is A LOT easier than working with a scalp that has had a failed transplant. we have less donor hair, more scarring, messed up recipient area, less laxity etc.. Dr hasson was able to get 3100 grafts out of me and used them to its best potential to what i believe at least. Id be happy to show you my before and afters if you like. Pm me if you do. hope i helped
  17. Hey guys, Just yesterday I had gone in for my second procedure at H&W. I was initially a repair patient coming from a clinic that butchered me and basically ruined my life. Dr. Hasson promised to take me back to the promise land on jan 31st 2013, and OH HE DID. We had planned for 4,000 graft but were only able to get 3100 grafts from mid scalp to frontal area.. fast forward 7 months later... my life completely turned around I Now just had 1200 grafts as a cherry on top in the frontal area and hairline. my crown area is still extremely full and healthy so I'm not too concerned about that. whatever donor hair that i do have left will be used there.. but that should be many years from now. If anyone would like to see my before and afters, just request and i will be sure to post. swell as any help or info regarding transplants in general.. i would be happy to assist anyone with the knowledge I've gained throughout this journey of mine in life update: pics posted these are between the time i came in for my first surgery and when i came in PRE-op of the second (to the point of the shave down prior to going in to start transplant #2)
  18. Hey, I didn't know thats why Joe left? I May sound biased too but after 2 failed transplants at other clinics i went into Hasson and wong as a repair patient.. and wow they really turned my life around. I went from hopeless to loving the world again. Dr hasson even fixed my scar to a point where i shave the back of my head to nearly a 2 guard with no one ever being able to detect my scar.
  19. I would actually give this a 0 and a 10. 0 because I had a very bad experience at a bullshit clinic that were basically con artists and used me as a testing dummy. this shocked out all my frontal hair and all i had was a pluggy look. this was in 2011. 10 because I went into Hasson and wong on jan 2013 (after using a hair system for 3 months and just not being able to deal with life.) With that said, Dr hasson took me in as a repair patient.. i was booked in for 4000 grafts, to make hassons already difficult task even more difficult.. we were only able to extract 3100 grafts.. With all that given, he has changed my life and did much more than i ever imagined was possible with that many grafts. Moral of the story is that a transplant is a life changer.. it could make you or break you.. And i really do stress on this. So If you are considering a transplant, you're more than welcome to pm me and il give you all the advice you may need and show you some of my before and after pics too
