  1. Little update:) I was taking monolaurin (Glyceryl monolaurate) supplements to boost my immune system which is compromised due to Chron's disease. After speaking to my dermatologist and gastroenterologist, it appears that Hypersensitivity (Chron's disease is a Type 4 Hypersensitivity) to Glycerol Monolaurate is a contraindication. It is highly likely that the Alopecia was induced by the supplement. The frustrating part of the story is, that I was advised by my dietitian ( who was fully aware of my medical history ) to take monolaurin. Lesson learned.... no more dietitians. I have stopped taking the tablets a week ago. The good news is that the problem is not related to the hair transplant surgery
  2. Day 116 post surgery. Had yesterday a hair cut. With regard to the alopecia problem, it seems that the steroid injections have started to kick in. Some hair growth within the bald patch
  3. never had fever after surgery, however my wife always had higher than normal temperature after a procedure. From my understanding it is a quiet common thing. Everyone reacts differently. Keep in mind you have had a lot of anesthetic over the last 48 hours. Your body is just reacting to this. I am sure you will be fine.
  4. Let me tell you from someone who had plenty of surgery in his life. Shivering after an anesthetic is a very common side effect. Don't worry too much as I am sure you will feel better by tomorrow. Wish you all the best!

  6. 109 days post surgery, Growth in recipient area is going well, however the Alopecia at back of my head ( all in the donor area) seems to spread. I have had multiple steroid shots yesterday so hopefully it will help to bring under control.
  7. thanks, and I yes hope so too. I am getting the injection in the next half hour. Hopefully this can stop the alopecia and I have started to develop a number of new small patches in other areas
