  1. Well.....here's a pic i remain very pleased with my experience with my procedure with dr vories the procedure didn't hurt during. afterwards it hurt. oddly, the donor area hurt alot more than the crown where the hair went. some hair has already started shocking out. not a huge amount, but it has not been that long. yesterday was my first day the instructions said i could was my hair. i'm still being super careful. in the pic you can see the one place i bumped my head, i went hiking this past friday and my body is fine. it has been the whole time. but i get carsick easy and combined with my head being achey, it was not a great idea. the hike was easy,. the drive back was hard. if i had been in a position to do this 5 years ago, i would have. i think i will limit things that required recovery to things i cannot fix with exercise. i could not workout and get my hair back. but i don't see myself getting lipo. i can see how people can get inadvertent addictions since you spend so much time afterwards doped up. i went back to work monday no issue. my followup is this upcoming friday. although i could now, i am waiting until after that to return to the gym
  2. i got up at 7am to give myself time to make it to 9am at Dr Vories near Carowinds he introduced me to his 2 techs and i got to meet Mike, who i'd been emailing with. it was 2000 grafts. i feel asleep during this part with the neograft. then we had lunch. afterwards, i watched prometheus and then the first half of greats gatsby while he did the insertion of the FUE grafts with his implanter at that point, the anesthetic was wearing off. i was hoping to get home easily. everything at CHS was easy, perfect...no problems....if i need later procedures, they will definitely be my first choice the ONLY bad part of the day was the drive home. i opted not take take the valium so i could drive myself. benzos are for anxiety, and i was starting to have some pain like a bad sunburn. in good traffic, i could have made it to the pharmacy easily and fast. however, there was a huge blowout flooding rainstorm and it took me 2 hours to get to walgreens and then home. but then everything was fine and that was no reflection on CHS....if i had it to do over, even having the meds in advance would not have helped much since that was near my house. just getting accross Charlotte at rush hour in a flooding rainstorm was what took the time. having a driver would not have helped...actually that would have been worse because i sometimes get car sick as a passenger.... i will post photos later.....
  3. So...in anticipation of my upcoming procedure, I went ahead and clipped it down. You can see the thinning very well here. It's under a harsh flash. If It were longer, I know how to fake it with Toppik and combing, but I really think it's best to just leave it alone and have the HT, then let keep it clipped until some regrowth is happening.
  4. ok...so these are not great photos, . i was off fin for a few months last year and lost those gains. i'd not yet regained anything as of these photos. we are focusing on the crown in my first HT. i'm comfortable with the density at the hairline and the hairline itself. i never had a low forehead, even as a child. since these photos, i took the hair down to a 2 guard so i'd be used to having very short hair for a while. i have a better shot of the crown on my phone i can post later. the doctor describes the focus area as being the size of a DVD and we are going for 2000 on this pass. when i restarted fin, i had the same tingly feeling on my scalp a few weeks later as when i first went on it. it's hard to describe exactly. it's different than an itchy scalp. in my consult, the doc said i had enough donor hair in the safe zone to do many more procedures down the road if i need to.
  5. My dad had a HT 25 years ago. It still looks great. Of course, he's also in great health.
  6. So, I'm a 39yo male , a norwood 3v. I've been on fin since age 23 except for a few months last year (long story). I had some shock when I restarted. Anyway, all my uncles on both sides are bald and my dad had a hair restoration around my age. So I knew this was coming and I wanted to have it done so I could hope to have a good result by my birthday next Feb. I looked around and decided I like Dr Vories after meeting him. I was able to ask him a boatload of questions and he was adept at giving me answers that didn't sound like PR. I was initially booked for later this month, but they had to reschedule me til next month. I'm excited. I went ahead and buzzed my head down to a 2 guard. I'll just keep it short until any shock loss has resolved and regrowth has started. I'll post more later.
