  10. Dr. Rahal/ Norwood 5/ 5130 FUT I know you guys are always looking for larger cases. Although we do lots and lots of hairlines. we do larger cases as well. Here is a recent case of large strip. Patient G. came to Dr. Rahal looking for a solution to his advancing pattern hair loss. He has taken Finasteride for about 6 months, used Minoxidil for 1 month and tried Nioxin, Biotin and other vitamins. His priority for a hair restoration procedure was to gain coverage and maintain a natural look as he ages, going from front to as far back as possible. The challenge in large cases is to cover large areas and still maintain a level of density to create volume. Patient G. has light colour hair and medium caliber with an above average donor density. Dr. Rahal designed a conservative hairline to maximize coverage. 5130 FUT grafts (10,666 hairs - 803 one's, 3120 two's, 1205 three's, 2 four's) were harvested and use to cover the frontal and mid-scalp zones. Below, you will find pre pictures and immediately after. We will continue to update this thread with pictures showing the changes in patient G's hair as it begins to grow. Patient G will chime in on this thread with his Rahal experience as well.

  16. We'd like to clarify few points so the forum members can follow our process. At Rahal, we feel the planning is the most crucial part of any hair restoration surgery. With a good detailed plan, and knowing the worst-case hair loss scenario, a patient can then decide if they can accept their plan or not. When we cannot meet a patient's expectations given the limitation of the donor supply, we always decide against surgery. At the same time accurately estimating the exact life time graft count is hard (short of counting each graft, which does not account for future miniaturization). An estimate is usually given based on current density and projected density after FUE or strip extraction. We review the age, family history, medications and we examine the pattern and rate of hair loss of each individual. For this reason, we find ourselves, on daily basis, informing patients how they are not candidates, based on their objective hair loss information and mismatches with their expectations. It has been studied, that only 17% of the discussed information during a doctor-patient discussion is actually retained. For this reason, we have two dedicated full time staff (Kamila and Larissa) with the sole responsibility to handle the pre-operative and the post-operative questions that surround each patient we treat. This is on top of the information discussed with the Patient Advisors and, of course, Dr. Rahal.

  18. Dr. Rahal/ Norwood 3 / 2418 Graft FUT / 12 months post-op This patient came to us in his early 20s concerned about his widow's peak becoming more noticeable. With 2418 grafts (totalling 5090 hairs), Dr. Rahal was able to achieve a dense and natural looking hairline for this patient.
  19. Dr. Rahal/ Norwood 3 / 1801 Graft FUE / 7 months post-op This patient came to us in his mid-20s concerned about his uneven and receding hairline. With 1801 grafts (totalling 3536 hairs), Dr. Rahal was able to achieve a more age appropriate look for this patient as seen in the results below.
  20. Lefty & Win, we're so happy to hear you had an enjoyable stay at our Guesthouse! Here are some more photos for all who are interested. Our guesthouse is exclusively for our Rahal patients. It is indeed an opportunity for a live forum, encouraging much of the same dialogue that occurs here on HTN
  21. Hi Lefty, we're also excited to have you at our clinic next week!! It's a big decision, and we'll be here to support you every step of the way. Please reach out to your Patient Care Team if you have any questions before next week. See you soon! Dr. Rahal & team
  22. Mav, At the time you were doing your research you were looking at H&W as well, another Canadian Clinic that charges in USD. Since the Canadian dollar had become weaker, we changed our pricing policy a few weeks ago to Canadian dollars. Since the Canadian dollar has taken a tumble, the new policy will provide a great favourable exchange for our USA patients. With the exchange rate, the fue graft cost is approx $ 6 USD. Good luck on your future procedure with the clinic that you have already chosen.
  23. Hi Everyone, We currently charge all patients in CAD. As noted above, this equals a significant savings in the current conversion for US patients
  24. We tested ARTAS and refuse to offer it to our patients – despite still have the machine and paying over $250,000. In our opinion, the ARTAS technology is not ready does not benefit patients at all. We suggest anyone considering ARTAS to research the machine very carefully. Bottom-line, our FUE method is far superior. That’s our opinion, and we feel strongly about it.
  25. Without diving too much into this discussion, having worked with Joe we know him to be a very knowledgeable and stand up guy. He's always advocating for patients, and taking their best interest to heart in giving advice that will benefit each patient most. He's an asset to patients as an advocate and educational resource.
