  1. Hi, I'm getting my first procedure done with Dr. Charles two weeks from today, just wondering about post-op from patients of any doctor. Where you guys able to walk out of the office and do normal things? What's the best way to reduce redness and speed up recovery? How much would it cost to have the staples removed by your own doctor and how long would the staples have to be in place? How long does it usually take for the redness to be gone and if you were to shave your head, how visible is the scar 4-5 months down the road?
  2. Hi Zub, glad to hear you had a wonderful experience with dr. charles. He is one of the doctors i am looking into right now because his work is very good, among some of the best i've seen, but he doesn't do large surgeries like other doctors, that is one of the main reasons i am still looking around. And you are right, he is very good with talking to his clients and potential clients. Just wondering how many grafts you had, and if you don't mind me asking, how much the procedure was? My email address is skylark781@hotmail.com if you can please email me. Good luck.
  3. Does anyone know if there are doctors who are willing and/or have done transplant procedures on a Saturday?

  5. No, I have never had surgery. I'll try to post some pics. I'm having trouble posting some details here.
  6. Hey tkotko, if you are still around the forums, could you please show some recent pictures of your hair. I have seen some of your pictures, but that was a long time ago. I am thinking about going to Dr. Charles and thought that your results were the best that I have seen from him.

  8. Looks great Robert. Just wondering, how many grafts did you get, and how far back were they placed? I'm thinking of getting a transplant pretty soon here and am just wondering if 2000 grafts would be good enough to get the results you have gotten. I can still remember reading your essay back in June when you won. I can't believe it has already been six months, the results are amazing, I am very happy for you and appreciate all the feedback you have given to every contributing member of this forum. I don't post a lot here, but I have come in everyday in the past two years to see what's new. Now I am ready to make a decision about getting a transplant. Congrats and thank you.
  9. Hi, cpa, just wondering, how much was your procedure and how's the growth, if any, coming along. I was considering to have a consultation with dr. Charles, but then he lives too far from me. Do you have any pictures? I have seen some of his photos and they look nice, but so much to my liking, does he do dense packing and temple closing, some feed back from you would be nice.
  10. best thing to do would be to just quit everything a couple of weeks before surgery, I don't think they would check for marijuana and alcohol stays in the body for only a day or two.
  11. I can understand the importance of a blood sample to check for HIV and other viruses, but I doubt they would take a urine sample. Never had a transplant so I wouldn't know, try to ask someone who has had one.
  12. OK, i now just figured out how my hair loss is categorized. I have diffuse thinning showing maybe an NW 6 or 7. I'll say i have about 60% of my original hair still, but the others are gone. and also a completely bald forehead and hairline, Nw 1-2. is it possible to transplant on a diffuse thinner? been on finesteride for 1 month now.

  14. Thanks to this site and a few others, i know more about transplants than others who don't do their research. My friend is balding too and he said he was going for some work, i asked where. His reply, "either Bosley or MHR." I knew he was going to say those two. of course i told him about all the bad things about them and to do some research. just don't want people, especially those close to me to get cheated.
  15. i've used the stuff in a can where it is sprayed on and it works ok, it's just that it stains the scalp. toppik works pretty well too, but not as well at the advertised pictures.
  16. Would Dr. Alvi accept something like Capital One's cosmetic fee plan or any other such thing?
  17. How many doctors and clinics allow their patients to finance for their sugery or do they demand full payment immediatley?

  19. I was wondering of all the doctors that visit and reply on this site, what is the youngest age of an individual that you would perform on, in any case of a NW 2 to a NW 7?

  23. i tried revivogen for six months and did not notice much regrowth, it did however slow down my hair loss, less hair in the shower, on my pillow, etc..., but since it did not do what i thought and wanted it to do, regrow hair, i stopped with the treatment. about two weeks after i stopped using the shampoo and serum, i noticed more hair loss, it seemed that without revivogen, my hair is weaker. they do say on the site that it does not regrow hair, but does make the existing hairs stay on stronger. i might never go back to revivogen again because it's pretty pricey, i'm currently on nioxin, with pretty much the same results. so i think both products are pretty good. i bought nioxin because this one guy who cuts my friends hair reccommended it to me. it doesn't really regrow hair, just makes your existing hair more healthy.
  24. just wondering what other additional costs there are for having a procedure, such as room fee, drugs being used and other things.
