  1. Starting to thin. Get on therapy...Propecia preferably.
  2. Run in the other direction!!! This is the perfect example and danger that this scenario creates. A company that sells them a machine and offers doctors that are not trained in hair to get an empty room producing revenue without the doctor lifting a finger and jeopardizing patients with techs that are not licensed to harvest nor make sites. These are the doctors that need to be sanctioned by State medical boards. There are plenty of specialist in hair located in Georgia or Florida for you to choose from.
  3. Shaving of the donor nor the transplanted area is necessary. Most doctors do this for their benefit, making their job easier, but then the patient pays the price looking different and having to wait to grow their hair back to look normal again.
  4. Mickey85, This problem involves non experienced doctor letting techs do all the work while it creates a new stream of revenue AND experienced doctors who don't care to do what they should (lazy) and delegate their work to techs...BOTH UNETHICAL!! Wait til patients who have gone through their surgery and realize the doctor didn't even touch them and they report them to State Medical Boards....it's only a matter of time. KO...with all due respect....that fact you say hair transplant is pretty minimal surgery therefore techs should be allowed to do a doctor's job is a pretty irresponsible opinion. Patients are being deceived or they are being put at risk. IT'S AGAINST THE LAW FOLKS!!!
  5. Could that be the deposit? You should pay for grafts and a healing kit if you so choose...nothing else, unless you're in a location that charges tax on cosmetic surgery....not all do....such as in Florida.
  6. GWallt...you can give Dr. Marco Barusco in Port Orange, Florida USA a shot......
  7. Torip, I think you have one choice...and that's to look forward. Keep your hair a little longer in order to hide the scar. My worry is who did you procedure and how many grafts. Doesn't look like you got much coverage.
  8. Bones, You're in a holding pattern for the next several months. Only time will tell if you'll have enough density. Light hair with light skin gives a better appearance of density than dark hair with light skin...so you have that benefit in your favor. Gotta wait at least 9-12 months to see the end result of your procedure. If you are happy...great! If you want more density, you can go in between what was done with more grafts.... Keep us posted on your progress!
  9. Seems you had some hair in the area so your doctor avoided it in order to avoid hurting follicles that are still producing hair. Even if these die in the near future, your longer hair will cover the area and you won't even notice.
  10. If you want to get a glance at how many doctors MIGHT be letting techs do the extracting and site creations, take a look at websites promoting special FUE equipment and then read the doctor's bio and it doesn't have any mention at all about hair transplant experience and/or any affiliations to the ISHRS or any other hair transplant organization where they can continue to learn about the art of hair transplantation.......Hmmm..... I don't understand how a potential HT patient does their research and decides on a doctor that falls under this category. Compares to taking a family member who has a heart problem to a doctor that has a new machine used during heart surgery but when you read his/her bio they don't have any heart surgery experience....COME ON FOLKS....WAKE UP!!! We're talking about hair surgery that is up front and center.....don't take the risk with doctors that are adding HT to their menu of services just to increase their revenue...choose a specialist instead!
  11. To me...it's a HUGE pill to swallow to do PRP and pay about $1000-1200 for each session without a guarantee....I rather save more money and have a transplant while reducing future loss with Propecia/Rogaine.
  12. No doctor will give you a 100% guarantee on. PRP results because there is no data confirming its results yet. Go to ISHRS.org and click on articles and find the article on PRP...interesting read.
  13. Future I agree with you on the first half of our statement...ONLY a licensed doctor should be allowed to cut into skin, whether harvesting grafts or makings sites. Spanker...WOW buddy. First we're not in the jungle and second if any medical board read what you just wrote they'd spank you in public. Come on folks, public safety is number one...and there should never be any deviation from this...PERIOD!!!! You're. Right that not all licensed doctors make good hair transplant surgeons, BUT that doesn't mean we should take it to the other extreme of allowing unlicensed techs cut into skin..... I think this is going to be a huge topic in the near future as patients realize clinics have broken the law in allowing techs to perform unlawful practices on them. Stay tuned folks.....
  14. Hi Gaelic, Therapy will help you maintain mid to crown...unfortunately not the frontal as much. Therefore you shoul select a hair tranlant specialist that performs both fue and fut so they can give you unbiased information. Best of luck!
  15. If everyone only knew how many doctors are doing this...and much more now since a certain brand of FUE equipment is being sold to plastic surgeons, Dermatologists, etc and the hired techs are doing all the harvesting and sites....illegal!!!!!!! Patients have to dig and do research in order to avoid what Rauol went through...it's pretty sad. But I'm sure what happened to Armani will also happen to many other unethical doctors...it's only a matte of time til other patients complain.
  16. Pitt, Best thing you can do is visit a few hair transplant surgeons to get a doctors point of view. Doctors don't make money by prescribing this pill, so they'll give you unbiased opinions. I've taken Propecia for the last 7-8 years and never had a side effect and have had kids and all. It's helped me a great deal to preserve a great deal of hair that otherwise would've been gone. At your age it'll be a huge plus. Best of luck!
  17. Hi Pitt, Yes you are receding....however way too young for hair transplantation. Find a hair specialist and ask him questions on therapy options such as Propecia, Rogaine and/or laser therapy. You have to give therapy a shot (til your mid 20's) to see how well it works for you and how aggressive your future hair loss may be. Best of luck!
  18. Couldn't agree with you more! Putting patients in a dangerous position in exchange for money is a major ethical violation and against the law. I've always said....although patients are a little "happy" under local anesthetics they still are very aware of their surroundings....who's in the room, who's answer his/her questions...how long has the surgeon spent with them. Sooner or later someone will complain...and It'll create a well-deserved backlash against unscrupulous doctors.
  19. Absolutely agree doctor. Hence there still exists a problem in the industry of those doctors who are not qualified to use it who are letting technicians do the work. At the end of the day, like in any other industry involving any other product or service, it's the patient's final obligation to do his/her homework, ask the right questions, in order to make the best choice. However the danger still exists for those patients who may not know any better....this should not exist....and I feel State medical boards will come down hard on this problem in order to protect patients.
  20. That's a big area for just 1500 grafts. Remember, the crown area is round and in a concave shape...so it takes a good amount of grafts to fill it in. Also, less blood flow to area serves as a slower growth area...so keep that in mind. Question: are you on any therapy such as Propecia or Rogaine? If you ever want to fill in a crown area....you're best bet is to be on therapy also so you don't keep losing your original hair in the area while you're transplanting new hair. Sort of like trying to fill a bucket with water while it has a small leak in the bottom....therapy will "clog up the leak" and help you fill the area. Hope this helps....best of luck!
  21. Raymond how much extra did they charge for the PRP? Cooley is very respected....so hopefully you will get a difference from the PRP. If you go to ISHRS.gov and click on articles...there's a great one on PRP. As far as they're concerned....the jury isn't out yet on PRPs effect on dormant hair follicles....so many people are holding out til more evidence is available.... But...hope you do get great results from it and your HT procedure.
  22. Dr. Cooley is very respected in the industry....so you should be just fine. Let us know of your results...both from PRP and HT.
  23. I've seen too many people get jooped with PRP to try it myself. However, I hope it has some benefit to you. What doctor did you have it done with? Did you meet patients in person or depend only on the pictures for the PRP? Wishing you great results!
  24. With all due respect, even with all factors involved, seems like a very weak result for 3700 grafts...considering he mostly transplanted front and mid areas. So since he didn't spread them out to crown, you'd expect to have even more density. This is where a lot of patients should take their time and get opinions from other doctors before returning again to the same doctor hoping for a better result the second time around. The fact you posted your pictures and you're asking for opinions shows some doubt of your results...which should motivate you to get other PROFESSIONAL opinions, Best of luck!
  25. Cold blow drying during healing process then you can go to heat which has no adverse effect after you've heald.
