  1. I started using ProFusion shampoo and the conditioner, they guarantee this will prevent your hair loss or they will give you your money back, which is probably reasonable. My hair loss actually hasn't got any worse since I began using it, which I'm actually pleased about. I tried Minoxidil a few years ago but it didn't do anything for me.
  2. I loved the Shakira sound track! I went onto the website and the miracle ingredient is Minoxidil. Plus capsicum for some reason which tends to be irritant. Before knocking it too much, has anyone tried it?
  3. Be careful with buying on the internet, not only because you don't know if what you are buying is genuine, but also the fact that Finasteride is quite a powerful drug and can have quite severe and lasting side effects, which I have read, can become permanent. So go discuss this with your doctor and let him or her monitor your progress on Finasteride to make sure that you don't regret the decision to start taking it.
  4. Dandruff is a much under stated condition and can be extremely unpleasant with extreme itching (especially during the night) with unsightly flakes appearing when you least want them to. I developed quite serious dandruff when I was about 19 and tried everything! I found a lot of dandruff shampoos actually dried out my scalp more and made things worse. Nizoral worked for me but I got some nasty side effects so had to stop using it. I currently use a new product called ProFusion, I started using it for hair loss but it is also as good as Nizoral for sorting out the dandruff but with no side effects. I used the ProFusion shampoo for dry hair. I think it is only available in the UK. The other product I had a lot of success with was the Schwartzkopf Bonacure dandruff lotion, which you apply but don't wash out. Hope this helps.
  5. A lot of shampoos for dandruff contain coconut oil and also salicylic acid, but these are treating the symptoms by cleaning off the flakes rather than treating the cause, which as someone has said earlier is a nasty little yeast infection that is difficult to get rid of. I've suffered from dandruff since I was 18 and it was really bad! Recently I started using ProFusion shampoo for hair loss and found that that actually did my dandruff the world of good and I didn't need to use anything else. Has anyone else any experience of using this? In the past I'd tried Nizoral but got some nasty sides, so I'd approach that one with caution.
  6. Hi Flavio, I think market forces are such that pharmaceutical companies who find a solution for hair loss would be like finding every goldmine in the world simultaneously, it just seems like a hard problem to crack. Interestingly enough there is also a good argument on health grounds to find a cure because bald men suffer more heart attacks. As for self esteem, wow....the number of entries on forums from men who just feel terrible about themselves because of hair loss is incredible. Yet there are also men around who don't care, or have much more important things in their life to consider. Feeling good about yourself regardless of your hair loss is important. You are all you have got, so you might as well try to think good things about yourself, hating yourself is going into self-destruct mode. I like this article about feeling good about yourself which is well worth reading http://www.prohairbiosystems.c...od-And-Feeling-Good/ The men who don't care about hair loss are often in a stable relationship with a partner who likes/loves them and the hair loss is just part of getting old. Other men are quite powerful, wealthy or influential or others just have a good opinion of themselves regardless. Let's face it if you had a nasty disease, say pneumonia, and you were talking to a doctor about a treatment, you wouldn't care less whether he was bald or not!!! The person who cares most about being bald is you, surprisingly most other people just accept you for what you are.
  7. The problem is that hair systems are classed as amusing and raise a smile if people know you are wearing one. It's not right, but that's the way it is. Plus if you meet someone new, at what stage do you tell them that your hair isn't real? It may come as quite a shock. I find that most people accept you for what you are, and if you have no hair they don't particularly notice, they just accept that is you and that is what you look like. You are better to shave your head or get a No.1 or No.0 zero than a hairpiece.
  8. This sounds more like a dermatological condition than dandruff. Try using a really, really mild shampoo as the detergents in normal shampoo could be making it worse. One trick is to wash your hair in conditioner and don't use shampoo. If using a really mild shampoo doesn't make a difference then you should see your doc to make sure it isn't psoriasis or eczema.
  9. Try ProFusion, I've used it for about a year now. http://www.prohairbiosystems.com you can also use it with Min or Fin, so you can attack the problem from a couple of angles. Whatever you use be prepared to mix and match as you often find a combination of products works best and you have to shop around to see which products work best for you. There isn't a 'best product' or everyone would use it.
  10. I started going thin in my early 20's and used a few different shampoos and each seemed to work for a while in slowing the process. I currently use ProFusion Shampoo and Conditioner which I've bought online which has been very good at stopping my hair loss for about a year now http://www.prohairbiosystems.com It has also cleared my dandruff at the same time which I didn't expect. I think the important thing is to shop around and find the best product that works for you, because everyone is different and also to accept that one product may only work for a period of time, then you might have to shop around again for another one. The other fact is that your body fights back against change and you might also have to use a combination of products such as Minoxidil lotion and ProFusion shampoo, so you are attacking the problem from two (or more) sides at once.
  11. Has anyone else heard of a warning about male breast cancer from taking Propecia, it doesn't seem to be one of these scare stories, it just says keep an eye on things, because there is a bit of an increased risk of it happening. 12. I don't think anyone would ever argue that a guy looks better without hair, as someone has said you rarely see bald male models in magazines. However when you meet a women she is presented with a whole range of qualities to assess, one of which is physical appearance, but what about wealth, personality, confidence, ambition, height, weight, voice quality, notoriety etc. The problem with some guys is that they only look at women from a physical point of view (which is so one-dimensional) and hence they often attract women who do the same - that is a recipe for disaster. Which is what we see in these pages. If men look at women, the way they want the women to see them, then you have a much better chance of meeting a soulmate who really likes you. On a different level, how many guys think they would have trouble meeting a girl if they drove a Ferrari or won the State Lottery. Somehow hair loss wouldn't be a major consideration in the eyes of most women (who have a very strong nestbuilding instinct). What I am saying is if you see all of the qualities in the woman and not just be attractive to a woman purely on looks, then you are more likely to meet someone who doesn't judge you on looks alone.
