  1. Well, after many many years of this (from age 21 to now 38) I finally got a scalp biopsy done and have decided that this year I AM TAKING THE DIVE I only know one person personally who has had a transplant, my cousin, but he had his done about 30 years ago and everything has changed since then...the only advice he can give me is just make sure that you get a GOOD one and it will look natural I live in Ontario Canada and looking around so far I'm seeing mostly places in Toronto and British Columbia areas. Travelling can be a bit of an issue and if there should be follow up in a year then I would like to at least be within driving instead of flying distance
  2. That could be areata? might have to do a steroid injection for something like that so you think this might've been caused from cutting too much calories in your diet or the opposite? I might have read it wrong that you were adding calories... Also I'm on dutasteride too! I switched from finasteride 2 years ago and I recently went through a very similar shedding just in mid-February like a sudden rapid "flash-shedding" just like you and I was having funny almost migraine headaches at the same time. Now lately I have been trying to gain a little more weight and add calories, could that be something that attributed to my recent sudden hair loss too? I was only on .5mg though and right now I'm in the process of trying to up that at .5mg weekly to eventually 2.5mg to see how that makes any difference..just wondering what your dosage was/is?
  3. 1 application every 24 hours is fine lately I've been trying to not use it during the day time but if I have to then I use the foam as an on the go method and the liquid at night
  4. yeah you're probably right... this stuff isn't dry at all and still isn't after I scraped it off I just checked that pile of stuff from yesterday and it hasn't dried up and kindof does feel like the consistency of fat when I touch it. wouldn't dandruff or skin flakes be dry or eventually dry up? Hmm. So should I keep using this and just chalk that up to it doing what it should be?
  5. Thanks! there is no redness or pain but it seems to be causing the dandruff itself though ... I just use it once a week and that's the only time I get this stuff .. like almost a reverse effect of what it's supposed to do
  6. Using the Nizoral 2% and noticed today when combing my hair that I'm getting these huge chunks of skin or some kind of residue coming off ... yikes!! My scalp feels okay though and I'm not showing any signs of dermatitis but it's like this stuff is over my entire scalp .. I don't leave it in longer than like 3 minutes anyone see this before?
  7. I'm guessing you started in your 20's and now you're in your 30's?
  8. Dude!!! your pharmacy is willing to compound you pretty much the same stuff as minoxidilmax but guaranteed quality ingredients then I'd get that filled ASAP! count yourself lucky that your doctor/pharmacy is even willing do that for you ... if I went to my doctor with a bottle I highly doubt she would do the same thing for me I wonder if they'll compound it with the tretinoin and the other stuff too or if it will just be 15% minox be aware though that any time 15% legal stuff has hit the market it was pulled pretty quickly due to rash and skin irritation I think that's probably the worst that could happen is my guess 😕
  9. I was thinking about giving this stuff a shot too
  10. can't argue it works though right?! just because that happened to me doesn't mean it will happen to everyone who takes it
  11. Yeah, I'm not here to scare anybody off the stuff (matter of fact I still support it!) just sharing my experience is all Bingo! however there is no sex involved in this situation . my theory is that the massive increase in bloodflow was causing it to get so damn stiff that it just kinda happened? I was getting like 8+ of them a day and not just normal ones either .. this thing was standing up like it was just angry! like I'm talking RAGERS! 😲 FLAG POLES! ... I swear the thing was literally growing at least 2 inches bigger than it usually does . and I wasn't doing anything with them either (they were painful!) Dupuytren's contracture - that's certainly interesting! now I'm looking at my hands and fingers all funny 😏 I did play a lot of guitar lol I have a referral in to see a urologist but no appointment yet . there's like a 2 month wait here and all that to try and fix that one spot on my head too .... oh well, at 38 I'm surprised I still even have hair and can even grow it long (yeah I know I should cut it) I'd like to try a 15% minoxidil but am a little on the fence of where to get it here in Canada (order from minoxidilmax I guess?) at least my hairline is still somewhat decent
  12. Here's what I've been trying to fix ... I'm using minoxidil too now
  13. Hey everyone! apparently it's been 10 years since I posted on these forums.. wow time flies! anyways I guess it's time to stop lurking and start talking (again lol) I was prescribed Propecia/Finasteride for my hair when I was 22 (I'm 38 now) and have been on and off it a few times over the years with no very serious issues and then recently I got moved over to Dutasteride last April (taking for 16 months) 0.5mg per day and it was normal until about a few months ago and now this is a bit embarrassing..it was like I was getting way more erections than usual like I was on steroids and viagra combined! later I started getting some minor pain in a small area in the middle off to the left .. kinda just figured the guys just been exercising and brushed it off.. plus I heard if you get painful erections they should clear up in a couple months. the pain stopped but now the thing is almost looking like a kinked hose when it gets hard .. it was straight before all this but since the pain stopped I'm bent like an upside down capital L (picture this-> ⅂ ) and yes, that's when it gets hard (it still looks normal soft) so it's internal penile tissue damage and not impotence y'see... now I have to go see a damn urologist and I also got extremely fatigued and depressed. So unfortunately I had to stop taking it. Now I'm not too sure if the kink-dingy will go back to normal but here's the crazy thing - I'm thinking of going back on it but at 0.5mg per every 3 days instead anyways regardless 😱 So what else is new?
  14. yeah man, you have a good shaped head for the shaved look! I can't really do that because of weird moles and my head is sortof shaped like an egg lol
