  1. Hi Monday head.

You have light skin and light hair and more prone to redness generally. The scar please make sure no suture or anything left that is causing any issues, may not be the case but has been known when some is left it to cause discomfort and scabbing.

Please ensure to keep in touch with your specific advisor as he will be able to give help and guidance on what to expect at different stages and of course pass to the doctor any concerns but at 3 months redness and especially with your skin tone is to be expected.

  2. At risk of sounding like a broken record, but as said before there is change for the good in month 4 to 5 and for some patients things just continually improve slowly but surely. I've had patients who are happy at 5 months even if nothing else grew and others who didn't see a lot till month 7 when things really took off.

I have always been a fast grower but not all are and I see massive differences in this for individuals, so keep positive and all the best for the coming months.

  3. Thanks for the comments.

I will see the consultation data to see what densities he had but I recall they were not sufficient to reach his ultimate goals.

As for plugs we removed all the ones the patient asked for, he had finer native hair also nearby that we left for him. When plugs are removed then of course coverage goes also so it is a balance of removing the offending ones with the new look the patient will have and also. Those that are usable we replenish the donor.

With plug removal the angles and depth are different to native hair so some will survive the removal process but not all usually.

  4. Jonzi had a previous procedure else where back in 2003, about 800 grafts via Strip into his hair line, leaving an unnatural groupings of hair and making it hard to hide and style.

It was mutually decided at this stage, partly due to his own wishes and due to limitations in his donor to reverse, or remove the old grafts.

Photos show pre BHR, then immediately post surgery, 2 days, 2 weeks, 6 months and final result.

Final photo had accompanying words from the patient:-

"I'm incredibly happy with my results and recently got the chance to thank Dr.bisanga in person. Had not seen him since the day after surgery and wanted to give the doctor a "thank you" hug."

  5. Patient has kept excellent record of progress from inception to 6 month stage and has allowed us to share the photos he provided, so firstly I would like to thank him for this.

2830 Grafts placed and appears to be a fast grower from the progress shown so far and of course not at the end of the journey yet.

Quote from this patient on another forum:-

"This Is my first ever post on a forum since my procedure back in january this year, I wasn't going to post but since I've had such a good result in such a sort space of time I figured it was something I had to do to help other in the same situation.I've been losing my hair for over 15 years and have tried everything on the market, I' m currently using 1mg propecia, , minoxidil 5% twice a day and nizoral shampoo 1% every other day which has really helped stabilize my hair loss. I will be posting new pictures each month from now on so finger ccrossed we'll see even more growth!!

    Cheers Roy Boy!!!"

  6. Patients I book for strip I say to book the suture removal if possible well in advance to avoid a problem of not having medical staff there. NHS are pretty good, most have seen running stitches but not so long and your advisor can also send a document detailing how to remove them to also show the medic, although most will know. I've seen patients go private who had more trouble than the NHS, so in essence they are good but it does also depend on area you are as not all facilities will be the same.

A nurse or a GP should be able to do it, but a said book of you can before and let them know of the type of stitching and length they will be dealing with just to avoid any last minute problems. Make sure to go with a clean scar free from scabbing so they can see clearly what to do and again the advisor will be able to give instruction on preparation.

It will take a good 30 mins plus and they need to ensure to remove all of the suture.

  7. Hi Cant decide.

With this patient we did 2 x combination surgeries as said of Strip and FUE to get the numbers. The first Strip was under 4k as said so not initially massive as far as Strips go as i've seen several hit 5k plus.

Density is measured in 3 areas by us as a rough guide and can change throughout the scalp, some may measure in one area only and some in 5 or so and it gives us an idea of densities and not exhaustive as such and especially when taking a long Strip. Laxity was tight initially but surgery was many months after the initial consultation and often patients will do stretches to increase this and it will change throughout the scalp, so in some areas the doc can take more as he feels is save to do so and less in others and will slightly change as it is being taken.

The Strip was fairly long also and needs to be if laxity is on the tight side and would have been over 30 cm in length. The patient won't mind me saying he had a fairly large scalp also measured as can be seen even by the recipient area size at that point and far larger than mine for example even though I too was a NW6, and then we did FUE also as the numbers would not have been possible with Strip or one technique alone.
