  1. Thanks for responding sugar. do you find that you have attention on the density of your donor area now due to FUE? strip and FUE both have pros and cons and i have no doubt you did your due dilligence, is the density about what you expected, better, or a little less? your input and candidness is greatly appreciated!
  2. Sugar, your hair looks like its made a tremendous recovery from the mystery "thinning" that occurred after your first HT, congrats! Is there anyway to see the hairline with your hair combed up or back since you have changed your hairstyle and now comb it forward? again, it looks great.
  3. Hmm, strange. still doesn't mean that he can't contribute to the forum right :> would love to see the rest of the transformation because it looked so nice initially.
  4. I second your inquiry eersfan. I know that life gets in the way with posting photos and adding to hair-loss forums but my understanding is that Matt is an online consultant to a doctor and online quite a bit. An update would be nice at this point especially how lovely his initial result was looking.
  5. squiggle- thank you for your input. interesting how Rassman basically being the "face of the franchise" but not an operating surgeon isn't more predominantly known.
  6. johndoe1- thank you for your input, much appreciated.
  7. Mcmarkrazz- thank you for sharing- your case will be of great interest due to the reputation of this great doctor. heal well.
  8. hairweare- thank you for sharing your story and experience. a good summation indeed and appreciated.
  9. Hey community- I find it strange that there is very little opinion or recent documentation on Dr. William Rassman of New Hair Institute. He's been a pioneer in the field and has years of experience and practice but there just doesn't seem to be much recent info. on the doctor, his work, or his results by patients, new or old, good or bad. I find that odd, any thoughts? BTW, this is not meant to be a disparaging post about the doctor, he seems to be compassionate and the "Balding Blog" on his website is sometimes an interesting and educational read.
  10. hrsp10- thanks for your timely response, i appreciate it. i was wondering about konior and fue because i don't have the ability to shave my entire head anymore due to two 1000 graft strips back when i was 24. i didn't educate myself as much as i should have due to my age and went to MHR before they were recently bought by bosley but i got lucky and was operated on by dr. melvin mayer, who most agree, is the best and most ethical for mhr/bosley. the result was actually successful and has lasted for a decade plus, but now as we age, the hairline has slowly eroded and i'd like to beef up the initial frontal core like you did. some touch up work as you say. even though i already have a strip scar, i don't feel that i want to be "opened up" again and i don't know if i want to go back into the scar for a third time and chance stretching since it is a decent scar. so i was wondering if konior does minimal shave fue for a small touch up procedure. i estimate i would need 1500-2000 grafts to set me up for the longhaul. i'm on propecia and have been a strong responder for over a decade.
  11. oops, i forgot you spanker (how could I??! :>) your knowledge is also welcome!
  12. hsrp10,your hair looks great, Konior is without a doubt a great surgeon! to be clear, were all your procedures strip or did you mix in a fue in there? just gathering information about some of the top docs and i was curious if you'd had any conversations with him about fue and if you did, what was his opinion/view on the procedure? Since 21, I'm gathering that you are a Konior patient as well and any bits of info on my questions about Konior and fue is also welcomed. thanks guys!
  13. no, i think your hair looks great, i think that's what we are are saying- i know that its hard to think of the future and long term "plan" but you will not be happy if you invest in 400 grafts to nail down the corners and give yourself a "juvenile" hairline and 5 years later when your hairline matures those grafts are floating in no-man's land when the rest of you native hairs mature. a "mature" hairline looks good when we age, and by no means am i saying that you have a "mature" hairline now, its fairly straight across. everyone's hairline is different from birth, even young guys like you with no balding have different patterns in their frontal zone, corners etc. i would hold off on surgery and keep tabs on your hair and when/if you start losing hair, i would start on propecia which is an extraordinary hair-medication and go from there. you are in great shape, don't sweat it.
  14. We understand you, we're just saying that doing what you're proposing would be incredibly stupid nonetheless. If you were 30 it would be another thing, but you're proposing a game of Russian roulette. At 19, I would be shocked (and horrified) if any reputable surgeon agreed to give you that hairline. Any surgeon that would agree to do this for you probably isn't very good, and the odds that you'd be appalled by the outcome would be pretty high. So: we understand where you're coming from, but that doesn't mean any of us think it's not a crazy idea. This.
  15. Hi nohairline- Looks great, you've come a long way but I have a question, is that pic above with dermatch? Texture looks odd.
  16. Your hair looks great- get on a daily 1mg propecia regime and let the meds work and, if you don't have any problems with the medication (a small, small, chance) you should have quality hair for a long, long time. Best to be proactive than reactive. and yes... relax :>
  17. I would also highly recommend getting on a propecia regiment- with your hair-loss condition, I think you would see a dramatic positive cosmetic change. Gotta keep that hair in the future even after your HT if you go that route. Give it a year and assess from there.
  18. Propecia 1mg daily, over 10 years. No sides, great responder. My opinion is that in this day and age with current medical advancements, especially propecia, it is foolish for anyone suffering hairloss to not committ to a year long propecia regiment (unless, obviously, you suffer extreme sides.) to see how they respond. I have many friends who started using propecia in their 20's and i haven't heard of any of them experiencing extreme sides and all have had varying degrees, although all positive, results. This isn't our fathers age when if you were going bald, you were screwed with no alternatives.
  19. "got to stay on the propecia and minox for a full year, and the rest of your life, to see where you are. from the pics you look like a diffuse thinner though there could be some shed from your recent start of propecia and minox if you responded the first time you will respond the second, gotta wait a full year." I second the above. Give the meds real time to work and to stabilize your hairloss, then reassess from there. Everybody wants results "now" in our society- sometimes you just gotta' stick to the plan and take one step at a time.
  20. I agree with 1978matt- you are a great candidate for meds.
