This patient returned to our office to say "hello" and we were able to gather a few more detailed photos of his transplanted hairline. Dr. Wesley transplanted this hairline at a density of 30FU/cm2.
In addition to these photos, an updated video of his progress can be viewed at:
The patient then followed with a 2450 FU-session to treat the thinning mid scalp.

This 46-yr-old man's 2229 micro graft session addressed his thinning frontal third. While not lowering the hairline, the increased density throughout the frontal region provides the illusion of bringing a hairline forward. A

Dr. Wesley will be one of the featured presenters at the upcoming "Advances in Facial Reconstruction & Cosmetic Surgery: A Hands on Cadaver Workshop" from April 14-15th. While curious patients are welcome to attend the lectures, the purpose of this symposium is to bring together leading surgeons from all the core specialties who perform reconstructive and cosmetic surgery (plastic surgery; dermatologic surgery; facial plastic surgery; ocular plastic surgery and oral maxillary facial surgery) in order to educate and advance this growing field of cosmetic surgery. In fact, over 30,000 individuals have been notified of this event!
Dr. Wesley and the other speakers are encouraged to have laboratory manual format lectures so that the audience can use the information disseminated in those lectures in the afternoon cadaver laboratory sessions.

This 55-year-old man had an HT 8 years prior with a different surgeon. He presented for a session to the frontal third. These images were taken at the 8 month mark. Our offices generally anticipate full growth at 12 months. However, even 18 months after a session newly transplated hair has been shown to still be growing in anew.

A 37-year-old man underwent FUE using a small 0.75mm punch. A total of 1542 FU were used to fill his frontal third (including hairline and temple reconstruction). The patient submitted his own before and after images taken in the comfort of his own home only 6 months after the session. We sure hope to have video footage from our office capturing his current hairline shortly!

Dr. Carlos K. Wesley: 2701 FUE Postoperative Recovery

This 43-year-old male underwent a 2710 FU session of follicular unit extraction (FUE) in order to cover the frontal half of his scalp (including hairline). This video illustrates the early postoperative recovery following a large FUE procedure. It may help patients considering this approach by demonstrating the length hair in the healing donor area. Any residual scabbing in the recipient area can be cleansed with simple soaks and gentle shampooing.
