  1. Hi Wazaam, That's a great question i would love to know myself. I remember after my first session the lead Tech Tom at the time told me i had several 7 hair grafts. Tom had said that was extremely rare . The last go round Janna pulled 700 grafts which were made into 1011 grafts due to dense packing of the hairline a lot of the grafts were made into singles. I think the hair count was 1762, which would be on average 2.5 hairs per graft using the 700 number.
  2. I never said anything bad. I said i would stay far away from this doctor as i have not seen any result's. I would only go to a doctor that had a proven track record of good consistent result's. I have not seen any result's from this doctor nor good or bad. There are plenty of surgeon's in India that have a proven track record of success. Why would i spend my hard earned money on crap shoot, to me that's crazy. It's like going to Vegas do i pick black or red, when i already know what the dealer is going to put it on. My point is why take a chance when you don't have too. Regardless i wish you the best of luck and i hope he meet's your expectation's.
  3. Exactly. I didn't recommend any doctor on this thread, as i have never had work done in India. I have had work done in the USA by a top surgeon that does both FUE and FUT. In my case i have had only FUE.
  4. It seem's like all marketing by people who work for him or are paid to give testimonials. There are no results posted by this doctor that are yet to be promising. Everything posted has been directly post op no more then a month out. Would like to see a patient before and after a year. I would stay far away from this guy if i was having my hair done for sure.
  5. looks great Matt. You are going to have some head of hair on you in 12 months. Can't wait to see the results.
  6. Wazaam, I have no idea how many graft's i have left. I would venture to say i have around 2000 graft's left's. Janna or Dr Shapiro could give you a better estimate. When i had my first procedure, they said that i had very good density. I have been on and off propecia from the time i was 25. I haven't been on propecia for the last 2 year's. However, i just started taking it again post op. I'm currently taking 1mg. I think i'm going to start taking rogaine in a couple of weeks. I hope it works well together. Regard's Wings
  7. Thanks. I hope it will get much better. I will be posting more photo's as the time passes.
  8. It's me. I had a 3rd procedure for 1011 grafts Dr Shapiro being the perfectionist that he is thought that i could use a little touch up. I posted on another discussion forum you can check out. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/177779-amazing-result-shapiro-medical-group.html
  9. Thanks Pete, looking forward for the results to come!!!
  10. Thanks David, I just started retaking propecia after the last procedure, so hopefully I don't lose any more.
  11. Thanks Busa, They truly are a class act start to finish.
  12. I had a great result due to the Shapiro Medical Group. I began loosing my hair at the age of 18 which concerned me greatly considering my father is norwood 6-7. I figured i was headed down the same path. I admit i am very vain and figured no girls would wan't to date a balding 18 year old. So i started looking into options to circumvent this even though i knew i was to young to get a hair transplant i still went to a local doctor at the time only to be told, that yes you are to young to get a hair transplant you need to wait until your at least 25. The long wait began and the hair loss kept progressing year after year. I managed to wait until i was 32 to take the plunge. Through this website i was able to find the who's who in the industry and i decided on SMG by hearing other member's time after time having great result's. Of course i had my trepidations, that i would be the only one not to have a good result, but that wasn't the case. My First go round with SMG 1/30/12 i had approximately 1871 FUE I thought the result was great. The Team was exceptional and i knew at that point i was going to get another one, not because i wasn't happy with result. Think i got a case of hair greed. I wanted to have best the result! I wanted to be the example that everybody that wanted FUE would look at my picture's and say. WOW NOW THAT IS AN AMAZING RESULT! WHO DID YOU USE! so of course i setup a second session. Density now that's what i want. Second go round with SMG 2/4/13 I had approximately 1719 FUE half by ARTAS and the other half by manual hand drill. Going into this i had very high expectation's because of the great result's from the first procedure. I kept telling myself now your really going to have some head of hair on you kid. The density is going to amazing as if i was just reborn with a new baby head of hair. The waiting began i really was anticipating this full thick head of hair like George Clooney or Brad Pitt. My expectations were so high that no doctor could possibly live up to them. I have to say after the first 12 months i was disappointed, just felt like i really didn't have the density that i should have at this point. Did i make a mistake by using the ARTAS, that's got to be it. So I contacted Matt over at SMG and told him that i wasn't happy with the result. I told him i had no growth or next to no growth i sent him over some picture's and he must of relayed that to Dr Shapiro, so they decided to do a touch up. Wait all of a sudden from months 12-20 everything started to change, hair really started to come in at an alarming rate. I guess i was a slow grower and it wasn't until I got to SMG for my touch up that i realized the amazing transformation from the second procedure. They really are a class act and decided to follow through with a 3rd procedure on the house. DR Shapiro is a perfectionist and still felt that i could use a little more density. Third go round with SMG 12/1/14 1011 FUE result's to come. As of right now i couldn't be more pleased with the whole SMG Team.

  14. I'm excited to be coming back to SMG on 12/1. They are the best practice available in the USA by far and always try to do the right thing for their customers. I have had 2 procedure's this will be my 3rd. I have had both the Artas and the Motorized hand drill with different results. I wasn't pleased with the results from the Artas and am happy they have deducted that option. I just feel with such a delicate procedure a hands on approach creates the necessary precision needed for the most natural result. With that said i do feel the results with hand drill were superior. Most of the growth from the Artas occurred after 12 month mark for me. In terms of comfort and technique, the Hand drill is definitely my preferred choice.
  15. Sadbuttrue, I really don't know how much grew. Right now i'm in process of sending pic's to SMG to get an accurate and fair assessment to them year over year. All i can say is that i didn't get near the result i anticipated. I will repost again to show an accurate comparison from the first procedure to the second. In my own opinion there is very little difference from the end result of both procedure's.
  16. Thanks Mickey, Unfortunately, i was the Guinea pig. Sometimes with great risk comes great rewards, but this was not the case this time around. Artas is such a new procedure and your right there are bound to be bugs and i got bit. I guess i can say i took one for the team.
  17. I had my surgery on feb 3rd-4th with Dr Ron Shapiro. Unfortunately the results are not what i had been expecting, very disappointed with the Artas. I sent in my year review a couple of weeks ago have yet to hear back from them. I'm sure they are aware of the poor results now that there first trials are coming up on a year. I really wish i could have those graft's back and do it the right way this time. No more Artas for me, just straight FUE by hand. i had 1800 grafts this go round. this was my second procedure with SMG first time around i had 1800 as well. Not really a noticeable difference between the 1st and 2nd procedure results.
  18. Congrat's Orlhair1, From what i here from Matt Zupan, you are one of the first to have the new addition(ARTAS). I'm scheduled for Feb 4th-5th. Please tell me your experience as far as the seamlessness of the ARTAS compared to the regular FUE punch method. Did they say anything about the quality of graft from the ARTAS,good, bad etc? I wish you the best of luck with only great growth ahead. This is my second go round with SMG as well. I had FUE this time last year.
  19. I'm a little over the 3 month hump hair's are starting to sprout, left side has been coming in a little stronger, I'm sure it will equal out over time. At least i hope!!! Love to hear your feedback.
  20. thanks Orlhair, i'm hoping it does evenout. Hey something is better then nothing, considering there was nothing there anyway. I can't complain, if you have high expectians you will only be dissapointed in the end in most cases. I have low expectations so no matter the outcome it's already better then it was. Plus i kindof like the short hair cut anyway.
  21. Ok. Here is my 2 month update not much to report. It's a wait and see. I'm having a little growth determinately more on left side, i hope it evens out come month 5-6. Here are some of picture's any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  22. LOL, yeah you can't get yourself to worked up. I just hope she is as pretty as i remember her. As you start to get older your expectations go down. It's always nice to see a beautiful girl though!!!

  24. It's been an interesting month to say least. I went from having a full head of hair right after surgery to almost where i started off. Don't get me wrong i'm not upset at all, i know this is part of the course, but when you see yourself post op with all this brand new beautiful hair that you haven't seen there in YEARS you get really excited. Almost like seeing a beautiful girl for the first time and you want to ask for her #, but when you turn around to see if she is still there, she is gone, but you know you will see her again if your patient. The person next to you said she comes around every 3 months, but you just can't wait to see her again you feel as though she is gone forever. Below are my day 25 Post OP photo's quick recap FUE 1871 = 3773 HAIR'S I will be starting an album soon just a little lazy.
  25. I just got Nizarol, psoriasis has really kicked up, fully covering my entire head, itches like crazy. Update on my hair most of my graft's have shed and i'm only 2 weeks out. I have been scratching at my psoriasis. Should i be worried or is this normal? I look almost as if i had nothing done, good new's is that almost all the redness is gone.
