  1. Hello.. Just a quick background info before I start, I had my first HT (an FUT) about 4 years ago and was prescribed Tugain and Finpecia as part of my post-op hair-care. However, I somehow (I seriously don't remember a reason! ) never used Tugain though I have been taking Finpecia once a day I have been thinking about a second HT since a few months now to address a couple of areas that may need some work. Now, to my questions, 1. Since, I never got started with Tugain, what would be the best way to approach my second HT? Do I start using Tugain for a few months, wait for any probable results to show and assess the situation thereafter? 2. While I consider Tugain's usage, does it matter that I haven't used Tugain and Finpecia in tandem all this while..? Thanks for your comments...
  2. Hello.. I was confused by the usage of the words 'Foam' and 'Solution' on references to Tugain. Can you help me understand the similarities and differences, if any, between the two with regards to their composition, the results they help produce and their usage? Also, can one swap one with the other, if need be...? Thanks for your comments...
  3. Thanks David for the response I am surprised no one else has commented on this, doesn't look like something which is widely used.. I read a bit on Iosol Iodine and found some technical information on its properties, composition and how it helps with energy levels and metabolism. Now, I have a few more questions, You mention your experience of losing hair when you had stopped taking the solution. That makes me wonder if using Iodine is a life long commitment similar to those with Minox/Rogaine Are there any known side-effects of using Iosol Iodine or any Iodine solution? What if someone with no Iodine deficiency used this product? Would too much of Iodine result in unwanted effects? Thanks for your comments...
  4. Looks very natural...I am sure he likes it and looks lot younger that he really is...
  5. Hello... Got a couple of questions about incisions in FUT cases, Do the surgeons, keeping the possibility of future procedures in mind, always make the first HT incision at the top most possible 'bald resistant' spot? In case someone has to undergo 3 HTs, do the incisions progressively get to lower levels on the back of the head starting from the top with each procedure? Lets say someone requires only about 300 grafts to fix a bald spot and he chooses to go with FUT. Will the incisions still me made like a big smiley ear to ear? And, if that's true, does the patient lose invaluable grafts? Thanks!
  6. I bumped into a post somewhere on the internet about using Iodine as a possible help in fighting hair loss. While I found a few other similar posts, a couple mentioned something called Atomic Iodine and some others mention Iodine Tincture, I wasn't sure to what extent are these claims true and if the use of Iodine in any form helps at all. Has anyone tried any of these Iodine forms? What have been the benefits? Can you share some experiences? Thanks!
  7. Did you say increase? Many report a decrease... Yours is an interesting experience...Have they changed the chemical formula secretly? Viagra and Finn rolled in one anyone...?!
  8. Hi Sandip! Welcome to the brotherhood! You've come to the right place for advice on hair restoration Do you have any photos of your hair? Some close-ups would help. Photos would help experts here offer valuable advice. Also, if the hair loss is minimal and just starting to set-in, you'll be better off with medication I am not sure about surgeons in Mumbai. However, the one piece of advice I would like to give is never rush into a HT and never decide on a doctor based on only the price and location factors. Its better to take time to research before the procedure than regret your decision post a HT gone wrong Good Luck

  10. Moonm, Of-course, I experienced pain, however, not as intense as you seem to be experiencing. I had pain for the first few days. I was on some tabs prescribed by my doc for almost a fortnight, I guess there were some pain killers too, maybe for a week's time. Also, I made sure I wasn't touching or poking the donor site though there was a strong urge to feel the spot There was minimal pain after the first fortnight. What I felt thereafter and what followed was more of an uneasiness in my trying to get over the HT procedure...
  11. I guess it was around for about a month, gradually reducing. Also, I felt slight numbness till around the end of the 2 month mark. I have read that the numbness' (not the pain) continuing for months together isn't totally abnormal. The pain is something which you should immediately try to address...
  12. Hi moonm, Sorry about your experience. I have had a transplant too and all I experienced was some numbness and uneasiness. I would meet the doctor in person to make sure there isn't any nerve related or infection related issues I wish you get better soon...
  13. Wow, that looks an amazing result! Its looks very natural as well... The fact that this gentleman's balding pattern is similar to mine drew me into examining the result multiple times I just hope my results look similar too after an year's time...Fingers crossed..Thanks for posting the results
  14. Hi... I had my HT procedure over 6 months back. The implanted grafts which usually shed in the first month for most people remained firm till the end of second month in my case. I guess part of the reason was my being too gentle with them I recently came across some chart which plots general average hair growth rates post a HT. For a 6 month period, the rate was around 50-60%. Now, the question I have is, the grafts shed late, does it also mean the growth rates will be proportional? In short, do I just consider my growth calculation from the second month as opposed to the first month..? Thanks for your expert comments...
  15. Oh! Wasn't aware of this fact. I was wondering if there was something wrong with their packaging In-spite of this color difference, the end result wasn't too different from my earlier usage of a non branded variant. The other variant was jet black though. With Nanogen, I have to try extra hard to make sure the fibers spread evenly so that the greenish tinge blends with my black hair. Ultimately, with the fibers evenly spread, the result looks impressive
  16. Ricky, Welcome to the brotherhood! There is no way to figure out the number of hair that has been transplanted. Yes, one could count the grafts before they get transplanted, however, one has to go by the doctor's word for the end count Btw, I haven't heard of this surgeon anytime before. I hope you take enough time to research in detail and then take the plunge. All the best!
  17. I had posted a suggestion sometime back, for some reason, it doesn't show up. I had suggested sporting a fringe, however, only now I realize that you have already mentioned it in your post. My apologies, I had missed that post. Anyway, I hope you find a good solution
  18. hairgirl08 - I am no expert wen it comes to women's hairstyles. However, 'Fringe' flashed across the moment I read your dilemma. Why not try some fringes? If you've not tried fringes before, may be your HT has given an option to do so now and experiment with your hair! This is just a suggestion, I hope it works for you. I see you are from the UK. I see Cheryl Cole looks gorgeous in Fringes, you can too Check out these images here and here and here is someone who has had a transformation. Given that you have long hair and that you sweep it to your sides, this looks like a perfect solution. Try it out and lets out if it worked for you. All the best!
  19. That's funny! The results look so natural. With more probable thickening and maturing, this should turn out great. Congrats!
  20. You can try getting in touch with forum member ukmale40 who had undergone a procedure with Dr Madhu
  21. That's some tremendous transformation. If I were you I would be over the moon. Congrats!
  22. I started using Nanogen a couple of days back. And, the biggest question I have is - Is the Black variant really Black  The variant I have when used on my hair (my hair is black) looks greyish-green. And, I used the product on perfectly dry hair, so no water involved here. Anyone else has had a similar experience?
  23. Thanks Doc and members who bothered to comment. Its strange to note there is so much of misinformation that has spread easily. Interestingly, a trichologist once I went to claimed that longer the hair faster the hair-fall! I don't know what to make of such a claim. Is there some logic to it?
  24. Vinny... First up, its interesting to hear someone visiting India from the US for a procedure. I haven't seen such a case before! Nevertheless, I hope you have chosen someone with proven expertise. Who is the doc, if I may ask? Nervousness is understandable, after-all, this procedure could potentially change your life The most important things to do before an HT are choosing a doc and a right doc after lots of research and discuss your expectations in as much detail as possible. With regards to the strategy, I guess its a combination of factors -- what you expect and what is realistic. Sometimes, lowering the hairline too low wouldn't and doesn't look realistic. An expert practitioner would point out as much right away Though I am no expert, In your case, I guess the lowest you would get would be just near the end of the triangle edge that forms at the temple so as to even out the widows peak into a good shape. IMHO, anything lower wouldn't be natural. And, unless one doesn't have lots of gap to fill in, a second HT is required in most people to make the look mature and add density All the best
  25. magodiafano I understand your situation. You could try mailing Dr Rahal's and request for some written instructions. I am sure they would provide what you are looking for. In-fact, I had assumed you were provided written instructions from the doc. If that doesn't work, which is unlikely, you could try reaching out to Dr Rahal's patients on this forum. I hope you get some help. All the best!
