hey guys, im wondering if anyone has expereinced what I am experiencing.. I took propeica for about 8 months, had mild sides.. decided to stop taking it...and was back to normal within a week.. maybe 2.. While being off it for about 3 weeks, I decided I would try it again with a lower dose.. .25 everyday instead... I started on Monday and had sides by saturday.. so I stopped and now it is taking a lot longer to get back to normal.. its been 4 weeks now.. I can get an erection, althougth i would say my libido and my sex drive are still very low.. im starting to worry a little bit and am trying not to but if anyone has any advice for me, I'd appreciate it.. or if anyone has been in the same situation.. thanks B

NO.. not yet I'm still waiting.. I can function.. i would just say i have a low libido still..... i'm hoping i get back to normal before saturday.. bc im going to vegas..

hey man, sorry to hear you are still having sides... and yes your situation seems to be a lot like mine, althought i would get morning erections most times which is odd. just try and stick it out a little longer, maybe things will improve..and yes i also find it quite ironic

Crazy idea, i dont know if anyone has ever tried this or if it can even be done but here it goes. What if someone who didn't have a lot of donor hair, and had a really good friend, who would let you take some from them... could their hair be transplanted into your scalp? I duno just a crazy idea.. but if it could be done it would help ppl who do not have suffient donor hair.... just a thought... brent

good to hear green....hopefully your body is adjusting to the meds...keep in mind tho, since like you said there are so many mixed reactions, the sides might return and fade and return again.. which is what happened in my case.. i'd have a good week or two, then a bad week..

Yes definatly give it a few more weeks... just think positive..Once i return to the normal i may just take 1/4 of a pill once a week..That should provide me with at least some blockage of dht....

Yes I am off of it now for about 3 weeks... i quit twice.. was on it for about 8 months quit taking it.. and in about a week i was back to normal.. then i started taking a small dosage .25 everyday and had sides withtin 5 days.. so then i stoppped.. and its taking longer for me to get back... its been 3 weeks now :-(

I had sides the first day I took the drug, so it shouldnt come as a shock. However, you should stick it out a month or so to see if they fade. In my case they never really did completely, in some instances it was quite tolerable and mild, but sometimes it wasn't. So give it a month and see if you're body will adjust. I've read several people on here who experience some sides right away, and they diminished after a month or so....

Rogaine has nothing to do with ur side effects.....wow..

nope...just going to wait hair multiplication or get h/t when im older.. im only 22 now.. still have 4-5 good years of hair left.. propecia really worked well when i took it.. i only had mild side effects.. but in my opinion it wasn't worth it..

If im not mistaken propecia works as soon as your body absorbs it, but taking a 1/4 pill mwf will not be as effective...meaning it will not nearly as much dht... I tried the same thing to reduce sides.. and still could not get rid of the sides... some people can just not handle this drug...

I understand what you are saying, but trust me it is not physcolgical.. im not someone who would let that get to me.. the side effects are just mild... however, I do not enjoy having them and they are quite distracting and have prevente me on my usual sexual escapades for the past 6 months.

im in the same boat as take a chance.. my sides never went away...

ive experienced weaker erections, also it is harder to get one and maintain it... tho i still wake up with morning erections.. its quite weird and makes no sense to me.. it all just really sucks.. and its nothing physcologically.. once i stopped taking the meds i went back to normal about 2 weeks after i stopped taking the drug. now im only taking .25mg and first 3 days were fine.. then i drank alcohol and the day after it really messed me up... Im going to give it a few weeks and if nothing changes i'm just going to give up.. its not worth it at all.

any other ideas people?

Hi all, I have a question regarding the side effects of propecia. Ive been taking it for about 6 months now. I have experienced side effects from this drug, however they have been mild I guess you could say, but i believe it isnt enough to continue taking the drug especially bc of the fact that I am only about to turn 22. So i guess my question is, I was wondering what kind of alternatives I have while taking this drug to help lessen the side effects. I had previously started taking it every other day, which worked OKAY for a while. Then i started taking it mwf. which didn't work because after the first week passed and i took it on monday i had side effects. I also have read on here about taking a lower dosage. such as .5mg of propecia. i think propecia is 1.25 mg? Anyways, I know I am rambling on but has anyone ever had this same kind of problem and solved it with lowering the dosage or whatever.. Also keep in mind i have stopped taking the drug and i have been off it for about 2 weeks... within a week of not taking it I returned back to normal.. thanks for any of your help..
