  1. Use Copper Peptide for the first 4-5 days. Then if you choose you could start using Finasteride once a day for a while before going to twice a day. Vitamin E oil and aloe vera can be applied at night to the donor woun after the sutures or staples are removed. I have never seen any studies or data to support the benefits of Witch Hazel, but I have heard patients swear it works for them.

Dr Charles, Did you mean start Rogaine once or twice a day as compared to finasteride?

  2. Multiplier

Im in the same boat, I had a transplant when I was 19. I am now 37. I have quite a bit of native hair left, however some of my minis are starting to show. I went to a consult with Dr Konior and he completely put me at ease! Now, obviously I'd rather not have to have another surgery, but I could not be more excited about the Dr I chose and the way he was one on one. I waited for 18 years to have another one, so trust me you can do it! I'll be going in for my surgery in July

  3. Till my July 19th surgery with Dr Konior. I couldn't be more psyched about the surgeon I chose. He is one of a kind. Very personable and laid out a step by step process for me on the day of surgery. If there is a physician that truly cares about his patients more than Dr Konior, I would be shocked!

  4. Justaguy - i don't think anyone on this board is here to bash you! I really think everyone is here for support. I know for a fact hairthere is a great guy, he don't know me from Adam and he allowed me to personally call him and ask a ton of questions. Also, I know for a fact Dr Feller is an excellent surgeon, however, I like you , felt more comfortable with MY surgeon placing the grafts. That IS the reason I chose Dr Konior. Also, I've sent Dr Konior a ton of emails and he has personally returned everyone of them.

I am sure you will get the answers you are looking for. I am extremely sorry for your situation and I hope things get better for you!

  5. Countdown continues till my surgery with Dr Konior. I had my consultation with him last week and it went great! Dr Konior had a one on one consult with me for probably an hour and a half. His professionalism is excellent! He took time and answered every question I had!

  6. If you are concerned about really stopping your hair loss, I would definitely give finasteride a try. I stopped taking it for a while and I could kick myself for doing so. If I had stayed on the meds good I may not have had to had another transplant. I will certainly stay on proscar and rogaine from now on. I think the two together work extremely well. For the record, I have not noticed any side effects.

  7. If 5mg a day blocks 70% serum DHT, and according to some recent studies guys balding in there 20's may be more prone to prostate cancer, why not just take the whole 5mg per day? I believe there have been some studies on Proscar and prostate cancer prevention and I THINK the results have been favorable, so why not just take the whole 5mg and get double the benefit??? Generic proscar only cost around 10 dollars a month, just wondering...any input would be greatly appreciated...
