  2. You need to know who these people are....the people owing the clinic, running the clinic..their policies in case of complications ..etc...seems to me that you liked the person and don't know much about their expertise...anyway, did they show you their own before or afters...not just the clinics?
  3. Sascha, you will never be happy unless you change your view of the procedure...this is a surgical procedure to improve your hair line and it will not be a magic wand treatment. I have no doubt that you will get a great result but i dont think you will still like it. They teach you in training to avoid treatment patients who present with such strict goals..if alot of good surgeons turn you down, dont make you feel confident in them....etc...etc...that's probably why
  4. Comment by an above user: "As i said in my PM to you i would trust Rahal with either method in terms of ability. He wouldnt offer it if he didnt feel capable of trying to tame the beast".. one thing is for a surgeon to feel capable and another is to actually deliver. though in this case I would make the exception and strongly recommend you stick with Rahal who is a great surgeon but in reality for anyone else considering this anywhere else in the world you have to see the complete results no matter who you're dealing with.. Good luck
  5. the most conservative may be a small strip (depending on your hair density) which can be operated on again (removing the first strip) or FUE....? hard to give advice without pics
  6. Make sense to go with the most conservative option in my opinion ie just address where is required now.
  7. Nice job. People considering the FUE method should realize that it is a scar...no matter how small....most tend to be 1mm.....can be from 0.5 mm upwards...but 1mm is generally acceptable average you should accept...have a look at the pictures from some cases.....you you add up all the 1mm incisions and use simple multiplication you might realize thats alot of scarring.....obviously it doesn't show up as vividly as the strip scar cause its not unison...thought some might argue the trauma from FUE is more....nevertheless there is a place and function for both... most surgeons nowadays are advertising the FUE...as it attracts loads more patients.....and is easier to market.....hence the mega FUE session clinics ..... anyway, both have pros/cons and sometimes if you're comfortable with the dr...or want a particular dr to perform your case best to let them help you decide which they are more comfortable with......
  8. Just to keep in mind....Politics does play a role in most medical societies too unfortunately....
  9. Im sorry but i have to disagree with the original post......one thing i learned while training as a doctor, surgeon then HT surgeon.....not always are the doctors who are the best are famous....eg....know a kidney transplant surgeon from PA who has a 70% sucess rate. Know another in a very famous clinic (where all with lots of money end up) who has a 97% sucess rate...who would u go to? Obviously if you read statistics and blogs you'll go to the later...however, most of those later surgeons are referring their 3% complications to the other surgeon whose practice is made up of all the failures of others! Hence, be careful in stats, websites, marketing, charming personalities, before and afters, patient blogs (less than 0.05% of any doctors patients are on any one website)......etc...etc. Good example is that of Dr. Muhammad on another section of this forum.....one bad case....out of thousands...he does more than most surgeons in usa do a year....of course there will be a bad case here and there...and most likely that will show up here...not the other 1500 good cases done.. anyway
  10. I hate to say this but i do find patients being much misguided on these websites as well as being guided properly. Sometimes its hard to differentiate between the two... Anyway, this is a really good surgeon who not only holds alot of titles under his belt but also knows his stuff.....bad results could be cause of any of the possibilities mentioned above and i would recommend treating this as unfortunate rather than error on either side.....though i must say i've never heard a patient here say 'it was my fault..i did that,or that..or that..etc.etc" but thats another story! Take the offer dude...but make sure he personally overseas your complete procedure...thats a gaurantee you will get the best results for your individual case...whether that means no results even
  11. as advised above....seek help soon....won't restore but may delay things once a full checkup/screening is performed.
  12. hmm....having the hairline of a 22 year old at double that age doesn't always look too natural....though independent from the rest of his face it looks fine!
  13. i totally agree with some of the posts above about baldness.....sometimes i see patients coming in for HT who are balding very elegantly...infact some heads look really great bald/shaved...etc and i think to myself why are they bothered...but then again i remember that everyone likes my smile but i hate it and went through having braces at the age of 32 while i was working as a general surgeon (before coming into HT)......so i guess it what bothers you...though some of you guys with a bald head....would recommend thinking twice about it and listening to honest feedback from family (friends dont always say it upfront)....HT is not like braces and the consequences (good & bad) are lifelong
  14. Sparky, just read your story too.....very unfortunate and whats even more unfortunate these cases are quite common. At some point i will be writing regarding what a properly trained HT surgeon is and how patients should approach surgeons....however, unfortunately most people having these procedures dont seek advice here till after the procedure naturally as they initially have trust in their practitioner..which im afraid people are starting to loose more and more.......I have noticed this has become even a bigger problem today with companies running clinics and employing doctors on a hire/fire basis.....I think it is time to introduce some laws from across the pond....ie Florida a cosmetic spa/clinic must be co-owned by a cosmetic surgeon or physician...etc...etc..some of those regulations may help
