  1. I can confirm to you that Dermatch does not come off that easily with water alone , one needs to shampoo it out , neither does it have this color changing problem that Toppik does . Toppik is a great product with its limitations , its faster and easier to apply and doesnt have this risk of showing up but It cant be used with water , it will wear off . Its a different thing that Dermatch may show up as a black patch depending on how your hair looks into water . Have Dermatch until you reach around the pool and before you jump in , wear you swimming cap , simple .. Hope it helps . The problems you are dealing with right now are very minor compared to the problems you may have to end up dealing with after a transplant . So with that knowledge I request you to try to find happiness in the present situation . These products are very affordable and I suggest to you to try experimenting with them .
  2. Anyone know if Toppik could actually clog the pores ? I have used Toppik and from how the product works , I can say that it stays attached to the scalp unless you shampoo it away but I do not think that it may block the new transplants from popping out . Any opinions or experience ? I know that I had scabbing more than usual, longer than usual after my transplantation as well, redness longer than usual Anyone know of any ointment or meds that you can have to get away with the scabbing early and or also help with the redness ? Graft count was low, area covered was one side of the scalp to the next side with that famous widows peak, and Dr. Rahal nailed it. Yes I have noticed Dr Rahal's signature style but I always wondered what different people thought of it ? Does kinda make it look natural I felt though . Would'nt someone who knew you before your surgery notice that you never used to have this peak ?
  3. Louispoker1 , You can try Toppik to give you a denser look , its instant and keeps you free from any surgeries . Me thinks a surgery is not required for your condition and its best to avoid . You're too young I feel to even consider it .
  4. Does anyone know of an example of work done by H&W that involved repair , by taking out misangled hair through FUE and then relocating them ? As far as I knew they didnt deal with anything that had FUE involved in it but one of my mails to them when I raised this query , they said it can be done .. And yet again every discussion about H&W that I visit it becomes apparent that they dont do such a thing . So I thought why not ask the forum if they know of any such case ..
  5. Thanks for your answers Thehairupthere ..
  6. Thanks Thehairupthere for taking the time and providing helpful answers . Would it actually take that long , I mean 8 - 10 months for the FUE incisions to heal ? Seams to be quite some time . About the lasers in general , from what I have read , it works by creating changes in structure of things under the skin , as in cause certain damage and the healing process does the job of improving things . Ayways so having that in mind , If you removed hair by laser , would it damage the skin tissue near by to the removal site and would it be suitable to transplant on the same site again at a later date ? My question is aimed at taking of the hair and transplanting there again , where as Hariri's aim is to just take them off . And how noticible would these white spots would be , the ones from FUE ? Cos having such a thing in the hairline may prove to be a difficult thing at some point in time . I am not sure if that could end up being a problem , assuming one had dense packing it shouldnt be , but if it could show through at a later date or under harsher conditions . Will it be possible for you to post some pic or direct to some thread where such an example for the spot can be found ? I mean one that has healed . I tried searching quite a bit but couldnt come across a suitable example . Well , Thanks a lot once again for sharing your knowledge , it is very helpful to us all ..
  7. Since this topic realtes to FUE and FUT , I would like to know something .. My question is aimed with keeping repair work in mind .. I had a previous transplant for the hairline and temples which was FUT . Now the hair werent transplanted in the correct angle and the result is not natural . I wish to remove those previously transplanted hair via FUE and do another strip and transplant new hair in this region and other receeded areas since the previous transplant . Now my questions are : Once a hair is removed via FUE , does it regrow at the donor site ? I understand the donor site leaves a very tiny hole which heals with time . So it is possible to transplant immediately in a correct angle at the place from where hair is removed ? Or do I have to wait for the hole to heal and then work on it ? Once the hole has healed and assuming the previously removed hair isnt growng , is it possible to transplant new hair at that same site via FUE and have it grow naturally ? And would it be advisible for me to re-transplant these previously transplanted hair that I plan to remove via FUE to another area and use them , instead of just letting it waste ? Will they continue to grow ? I am assuming they should if the entire unit was taken out properly . Thank you for your answers ..
  8. I would like to know if anything is known as to what is a better time to take Finasteride , that is during the day or before you go to sleep and also anything else like empty stomach or after a meal ? Who knows may be DHT production is more at a particular time of the day ? I have been talking a 1 mg Finasteride for few years and of late my hair have started to fall again at a high rate, so I am considering to take a higher dose for a month and see if that brings about a change . From where I am we only get a 1 mg , 5 mg , 10 mg dose , so if I took half a tablet of 5 mg would that be considered like taking 2.5 mg ? Is that how it goes ? I am considering taking a 5 mg though . I am 34 yrs old and rest of things about me you can read from my profile page .. Thanks for you comments , suggestions ..
  9. I had my first Ht with Dr Mahadevia and I can advice you that the results arent good . There is a lot of gap between the transplanted hair , there are needle marks which are clearly visible and the hair grow just at 90 degrees which is pretty much against the natural inclination of the natural hair in that region , not to mention that my head was swollen severly for more than a week after the procedure which is also pretty unsual . A majority of the transplanted hair didnt regrow after I recovered from the procedure . As advised by others , have a look with Dr Madhu , although personally cant speak for him as havent had any experience with him yet .
  10. Thanks Thehairupthere , you post was very helpful and informative . Can you please explain to me a little more on the following : You said the surgeon can remove the old scar and take another donor section and leave me with a pencil thin scar .. You mean for my next HT he will make another scar on the exisiting scar so that he can get the lumps out of it and then also make another scar a little above or below to get the donor supply for the next HT .. Is that how you meant it ? I understand what you say about the incision marks and the hair growing straight . I wish I could do something to make the marks go away and for it to look natural without having to hide it . Is there any such thing possible ? So now the only thing that can be done to correct it is to have more hair transplanted around the exisiting in a correct manner .. Is that correct ? The ones planted straight might still make the rear natural ones turn around I guess and not allow them to go over the transplanted hair .. Or will it be a bit different with more hair transplanted at correct angle around the exisiting straight transplanted ones ? Well I am 33 and have been following the Finasteride and Minoxidil regimen on and off but for the last 2 years I have been on it correctly . So I have made a note of your suggestion on the crown area and will see what the surgeon has to suggest after a personal consultation . Thanks once again for your inputs ..
  11. Its a pleasant surprise to come across this forum with so much information and to see all you people come together to share your knowledge and support each other . My first HT was in mid 2009 in India .. It was just to increase my hairline by about 2 cms and to fill up my temple area a bit . The problems that arose out of the HT were that : 1)The transplants were placed too wide apart and now the needle marks are too visible ( Its like the dots you get on your body when you get goose bumps ) I am not sure if this happens with every HT ? Some of the post ops pictures of others that I saw here , there werent any needle marks seen there , looked quite natural . So is this mainly because the surgeon didnt do it right ? If so , can someone shed more light on it as to what it is that was done wrong ? I mean this is the worst thing that happened in my first transplant and the dots are a give away if not covered properly . 2) The angle's at which the transplants were placed grow almost straight and so the natural hair behind it gets bent upward and makes the forward transplanted area look scanty and the needle marks visible . Can someone explain more as to how grafts should be placed and more details on that subject ? Or redirect me to some place with such information . 3)The donor site was closed using triclosure but there are a lot of lumps felt there and a bit of streched feeling even to this date and if one felt their hand through my hair they can feel that its not an even surface and thats there is something uneven there . Further more it still scratches a bit and is prone to dandruff for some reason even if the rest of my scalp is free from it . So , is it always like this for everyone ? What are the reasons for the lumps being felt so obviously ? Could it have been avoided , if it were dont properly or is it always there for everyone ? 4) For second or third surgeries that people have , do they cut a strip from exactly the same place that they did before ? I am guessing the do it a little above or below it so that they can get the number of grafts that they want but with my previous scar itiching and have lumps , can I do something to improve that situation ? 5) I have some thinning from the natural front mid portion which will become visible eventually . So should I get grafts placed in between the natural ones that I have there ? I have heard that there is some reluctancy to place grafts between thinning natural hair that are a bit widely placed and that surgeons wait for people to loose hair almost completely in an area before they want to touch it . I feel if I am going in for a surgery and if I am not happy with the density there then I might as well get it done now and try to hold all of it through medication . 6) In the mean time I have been loosing some hair from the crown portion too , although I have been on Finasteride , Minoxodil , Homeopathy and some multivitamins . But looking at the needle marks from my previous HT , it leaves me very skecptical if this time I should cover my crown area or not. I mean if the needle marks are not visible , then further loss wouldnt make it look bad even if another session wasnt done , but for some reason if I didnt wish to do another session , then with further loss the needle marks become visible . So I will appreciate suggestion if I should do the crown area or leave it alone based what I have written above and after looking at my pictures ? I understand that this is a long read and there are multiple questions , I will appreciate anyone answering any or all of these with the knowledge and experience that they have . I am posting pictures along with this , the first seven were taken just a little while after shower and the other ones after the hair dried a bit . Thank you all for reading this and for your valueable suggestions ..
