  1. I have also done an extensive amount of family research before I would even think about pursuing hair restoration. I don't think that it is talked about enough. Good thought js2004. It is really important to see the lineage of hair loss and where on the scalp the hair loss is coming from. I think this is especially important for people whom get surgery at a young age. Thoughts?
  2. Hi Bill, Is that about an average size scar and I know that with regrowing hair, doctors and patients both want the hair to look as natural as possible. That's fine, but what usually happens when hair is grown back through the scars? Can people really tell?
  3. Zac, I have also heard that swelling is quite common. Do you have any pain at all? Were you given any medication for the pain?
  4. Good luck! I have also seen people make one of those websites. Good advice, "taking the plunge!" Perhaps you can keep us posted on the trips to the doctor you are having. Any knowledge and experience is most appreciated. Thanks!
  5. I don't think that I would have given up a mustang, but anthony I have heard from other people that they have also just put it on their credit cards. Not sure which ones though. I will ask them. Good question.
  6. Korsec, 10.5 months!! That's really impressive. You are lucky. i know some people that have seen verrrry minimal growth in that period of time. I hope I will be so lucky as you. You just took proper care of it? No tricks? There has to be some tricks...
  7. Wow "Taking the Plunge!" 30lbs! Congratulations, but I know that couldn't have been healthy. Do you think that the lack of calories you were taking in and the amount of fat being burned can have a negative effect on thinning hair?
  8. I am an advocate for organic supplements or none at all. However, back in the day I have taken Whey protein and I did not experience any sort of problem. However, I have read in this forum that people have had problems with this. I recommend people just stay away from this type of stuff. I thought I read somewhere that there is mercury in mostly all supplements. Does anyone know the answer to that?
  9. There are other forums in here that talk about the use of supplements and its effects on hair restoration. I personally haven't found any evidence, but there are plenty of people on this forum that do. Has anyone had any problems?
  10. Thanks Bill. I think that any sort of supplement is bad for you. My thoughts are to just hit the gym harder and not to worry about supplements. For everybody's general health and well-being (present and future) I would not recommend and supplements.
  11. I have also tried the Rogaine foam for months. Haven't seen any sort of result...yet. I do feel reassured when I use it though. Thus, I am considering surgery as a last case. Has anyone tried any sort of organic treatments?
  12. I totally agree with Bill. It is all about genetics. I have learned that people must understand their own body (and family history) before making any sort of emotional decision on whether or not to go ahead with this irreversible process. As long as you your homework and understand all of the risk associated with your own body; you will be just fine.
  13. You should be just fine. I seemed to recover in that same time period. I honestly think that it is a case by case basis. Same as when people get the common cold: some people recover quicker than others. I was one of the lucky ones. Best of luck to you!
  14. I haven't used it at all. I do like the all-natural bit though. I checked out the website and i didn't see anything that was all-natural about it though. Did I miss something? It supposedly doubles the diameter of the hair, which is a plus. Anyone actually try it? Not sold yet.
  15. I think that it is important to know what type of shampoo you are using and also how much pressure you are putting on your scalp when washing your hair. I would say to definitely not dig when rubbing the shampoo. That's just dangerous. Know your limits! What types of shampoo is everyone using? I figure I should be getting some type of advice.
  16. Hey Korec, It could have been a lot worse. You could have hit your new set of hair in your accident!! Anyways, congratulations on your new set of hair. How long ago was it did you receive your transplant?
