  1. My response here is both difficult and easy at the same time as I cannot sit by and watch continued and unfair damage to Dr. Hasson and his reputation. So we went from this shampoo or conditioner to bashing Dr. Hasson and the clinic again? I have had conversations with Dutchie that have gone well. I believe, as it may have been eluded to here, that we would both have good things to say regarding those conversations. I found Dutchie to be a pleasure to speak with and reasonable on the phone regarding his case. I understood his feelings and concerns. We always stand behind our work and I told him we would make it right if the result was indeed less than we expected. We agreed maybe he and Dr. Hasson got off on the wrong foot and I was going to take care of him from here. We agreed he was to come out here in March so we could evaluate his result in person. We offered to take care of his travel expenses. Shortly thereafter he then informed me about the ingredient in question and then 10 days later that he has grown “quite a bit more hair” and seemed to be excited about it. At some point along the way he had decided he wanted to hold off on the trip to Vancouver. I told him to keep me posted. I have not spoken to him or texted him or received a text since March. I have also spoken to Dr. Hasson. He informs me he has not contacted Dutchie since last November. Dutchie did send him the sarcastic text in mid-January, which was the last contact between them. So, when I read Dutchie’s quote, I was surprised: “

Oh and BTW, worst aftercare EVER dr. Hasson!!!

Its almost to the point of harrassment now.

And please stop calling or texting my phone number!!

It clearly casts another negative and anyone reading it would assume: a) we have been texting and harassing him and b) he does not appreciate it. So I ask myself why would Dutchie say this ?

Aftercare? I have always been available for you since our first contact. Who could be harassing you ?

Then the comments about Toronto patients? I have to take Dr. Hasson at his word that he has never said that. In my 15 years at the clinic, Dr. Hasson has told me a lot of things, never have I heard him say a negative word about Toronto patients. One of our consultants is a Toronto patient.

Dutchie:You know what, I dont need this shit. I'm gonna ask mods to remove this thread.

We'll give dr. Hasson (and his fake reviewers) what they want.

Some have said that this thread has brought some value. Maybe. I believe its little value if any is greatly overshadowed by its significant damage to both Dr. Hasson and for that matter Dr. Wong along with the many who are considering a hair transplant. If someone researching hair restoration comes across this thread with its contradictions, misleading and confusing content and concludes that Dr. Hasson and or Hasson and Wong is not the place for them, it has done a great disservice. In my opinion, that potential patient has the greatest chance of getting the best result possible at Hasson and Wong and with this thread he or she may have lost that opportunity. For these reasons, I agree with Duthcie, this thread should be removed.

Duthcie, you have been a straight up guy on the phone with me and like I said, I have enjoyed our conversations and actually like you personally aside from what has transpired on this forum. But I am disappointed in this last round of dialogue. We mutually agreed to certain things. You have not done what you said you were going to do in terms of commenting about your case. Your quote from 2 months ago: “I've been in contact with H&W and I've agreed with them to hold off any further comments until we both sit down and have dr. Hasson have a look at this whole thing.” I wish you would have reached out to me before all of this. If you’re getting good growth in the last 2 months and are optimistic about the future and giving it until September then why all of this other stuff that continues to be unfair? We haven’t been given the chance to see you and I’ve not seen any recent photos. If indeed your procedure results in a in failure, based on Dr. Hasson’s body of work I still feel a strong case could be made he was very unfairly treated in this thread. If your hair is growing like you say and the result turns out to be good, then what would you have to say about all of this? I’m sorry? Sorry doesn’t reverse all the damage done, why resort to all this in the first place? Especially after we spoke, got along and agreed on everything. 15 years at H&W, this is a first. Maybe I’m slightly more than disappointed.

  2. This patient in his late 20’s from Edmonton wanted a realistic hairline and as much overall coverage as possible. Through our website https://hassonandwong.com/consultations-in-your-city/ he scheduled a visit to Calgary to see Hasson and Wong representative and former Dr. Hasson patient James to discuss his hair loss and possible options. With his good laxity and density, Dr. Hasson and team were able to harvest 7264 grafts via FUT. 2190 singles, 4564 doubles and 510 3-4 hair grafts were used. With his average texture hair and given the large area to cover, good density throughout the front zone and mid scalp was achieved with a decent amount of coverage in the crown. These photos were taken 15 months post-op on his second visit to the clinic where he received an additional 2721 grafts to increase the density of his crown. With the extra crown work, in 6-12 months, the “great” may have to be upgraded:)

  3. Vancouver area patient in his early 30’s. Receded hairline with little if any loss behind in rest of frontal zone/mid-scalp/crown. Dr. Wong and team lowered the hairline and restored the temporal angles with 2510 grafts via FUT with 841 singles, 1434 doubles and 235 3-4 hair grafts. Apologies for the hair being combed forward in the full head pre-op shots. I think you’ll get the idea of the recession and area of restoration that the closer shots show.

  4. Thanks BeHappy

I’m glad you brought the parted hair up. It was awhile back when I posted a great result with great density and coverage that someone commented about a “comb over”. I was quite surprised at this but I thought I’d part the hair to show it was dense throughout. While I’ve seen many comb overs or attempts to hide a lack of density, I would say in general the results I’ve seen in my 15 years from doctors Hasson and Wong don’t require such styling. Of course not all results are as dense as others but a certain density is required. So I agree, in some cases the parted hair pic adds another window into the result. I’ll try to present this type of photo when I can and I feel it will bring value. I appreciate the fact you have taken note. I feel we show as revealing and transparent photos as anyone and thankfully the quality of the work can support such detail. I just need to get the rest of the staff on board with this too when it comes to post-op pics 

As far as the temple points, I agree it would bring a nice touch. His hair is quite coarse so this decision will need some thoughtful consideration. If he opts for a little increased density in the crown, he can discuss with Dr. Wong some temple work as well if desired.

  5. This Vancouver area patient in his 20’s was receding in his hairline. He recalled always having a somewhat higher hairline as did most of the males in his family. He had good donor hair and the potential for extreme hair loss was determined to be very low. 3031 grafts via FUT were used to lower the hairline and blend into the existing frontal zone. The 3031 grafts consisted of 716 singles, 2044 doubles and 271 3-4 hair grafts. We don’t have any photos with the proposed hairline drawn in so I’ve highlighted a mole with a red circle in one set of pics for reference. The hairline was brought down quite a bit which may be more apparent in that set. The scar healed very well and he is able to go quite short in the back and sides. These photos were taken 8 months post-op.

  7. Vancouver area patient in his mid 20’s. Dr. Hasson and his team placed 2593 grafts extracted via FUE to lower his hairline and rebuild part of his frontal zone. 456 were single hair grafts, 1710 were doubles and 427 were 3-4 hair grafts. The size punch used for the extraction was 8.5 mm. These photos were taken only a week shy of 5 months post-op with more growth to come. He will be back in the clinic over the coming months to show his progress and final result. I will be updating our website with his timeline soon showing his progression from day one until now and beyond.

  8. Hairshoeing, Davis91:

Thank you for the recognition on the presentation.

    Tj287:

I agree. I’m seeing impressive FUE these days. I think there may be some subtle differences in the philosophies of the two doctors when it comes to hairline design but I think they agree on the same basic fundamentals.

    911fan:

We’ll be showing more FUE as our catalogue of results expands.

    Spidey, David;

Thanks guys for your contribution as usual, didn’t want you to feel left out:)

  9. This patient in his 40's traveled from China to Vancouver for his procedure with Dr. Hasson. Wanting as many grafts as possible, his expectations were exceeded with 6364 grafts via FUT. A light crown coverage, while not expected in the first session, was able to be achieved with this number. He had hair on the finer side and 2180 singles,3844 doubles and 340 3-4 hair grafts made up the total. These photos were the result of his first FUT procedure taken 16 months post-op on his second visit to the clinic. He again wanted to maximize the yield and elected to have another FUT followed up with an FUE procedure. The 2 day total combining the FUT and FUE was 3448 grafts of which 2545 were FUT and 903 were FUE. A .08 mm punch size was used for the FUE. The second visit added some density to the frontal zone, reconstructed temple points and increased the density for the crown. Of the 4 post-op shots, the second full head shot (with his arms folded in his lap) represent the first procedure immediately post-op, the other 3 are immediate post-op from his 2nd FUT/FUE procedure. If only they would have taken another 188 to get to 10,000, that would have had a nice ring to it  But, I don’t think he’s complaining…

  10. Vancouver area patient in his mid-30’s. Dr. Wong and his team placed 1736 grafts extracted via FUE into his existing hairline and slightly behind to create the desired cosmetic impact. Of the 1736 grafts used on the day of his hair restoration procedure, 74 were single hair grafts, 737 were double hair grafts and 925 were 3 hair grafts. The size punch used for the extraction was .9mm. These photos were taken 8.5 months post-op.

  11. Thanks for the comments guys!

I have added another pic which may be a bit clearer. We will hopefully be seeing this patient in Italy next month and can get some updated photos of better quality.

Dr. Hasson feels he could have gotten the same result with FUE. Something in the 6,000 graft range would have probably done it over 2-3 days. Indeed his donor hair is above average and he might have another 4,000 or so left in reserves. As far as the post op shots, considering Dr. Hasson was transplanting mostly among existing hair and the fact that the patients hair shaft caliber was very high, the grafts did not have to be placed as close together as would be the case with the average patient. I agree it is also possible that he has responded well to Finasteride.

  12. Dr. Hasson/FUT 7902 grafts/one session

This patient from Italy in his early 30’s wanted to lower his hairline in addition to restoring his crown. Fortunately, his donor hair was exceptional allowing Dr. Hasson to harvest 7901 graft via FUT and accomplish this goal in one session. 2355 grafts were singles, 5071 were double hair grafts and 476 were 3-4 hair grafts. The texture of his hair was coarse. Due to his extremely high donor density, the strip was only 1.5 to 2.0 cm in width and around 34 cm in length. He took these photos and his result was shared on the Italian forum Bellicapelli. The photos aren't perfect but I think you get the idea.

  13. Thanks guys! You're hired!

I have instructed the webmaster to correct the errors. Our apologies. This indeed was inadvertently mislabeled as an FUE on our site. The other now also correctly labeled as FUT/FUE. I would say the distinction should be made and for those with both FUT and FUE within a reasonable amount of days apart should be considered a "combo" and not one or the other.

  14. Thanks for the comments guys.

    mcl2010:

In general the propecia should also help the areas of retrograde loss. I’m not sure how much it helped in this case as the areas of retrograde loss were pretty extensive. In hindsight I wish I would have looked a little closer at these areas but I was more focused and impressed with the transformation I guess :). I will try and get him back in to check on any improvement of those areas.

  15. FUT followed by FUE the next day is becoming increasing popular to achieve the maximum number of grafts in one visit. It was determined enough grafts could be harvested to restore the front and mid scalp via strip and the remaining grafts needed to complete the crown could be performed the next day. Day one consisted of 5798 FUT grafts of which 1413 were single hair grafts, 4135 doubles and 250 were 3-4 hair grafts. The next day 1,000 FUE grafts using a .85 mm punch were extracted. This patient is his mid 20's from the States wanted maximum density up front and with a large overall balding area, a lighter coverage for the crown was the expectation. He has average to above average donor density and texture and was on Finasteride at the time of his procedures. These photos were taken 7 months post-op. While the front is quite impressive at this stage, Dr. Hasson expects the crown to continue to improve over the next several months.
