hey everyone, this might be a silly question but i thought it was no harm to ask. I'm about 6months into my HT and haven't had a hair cut in over a year probably. I'm wearing my hair long with a baseball cap and letting the HT grow away. Is this okay? Or should i have the new hair cut to help it mature etc. I like my hair long but also because my new hair is a different length compared to the rest and still maturing/developing, so I'm not in any hurry to get a trim. I suppose I'm still a bit self-conscious of the HT. cheers

well my doc proscribed generic prozac and "i felt a whole lot better". But i wouldnt be suprised if some generics were phony. Although some people worry way to much about this, I started on Proscar the real stuff from my reluctant doc, then moved on to generic proscar from the net, i forget which brand? then generic propecia by genpharma. I think they all worked. I used the place on the net called 4rx or its called something like that. hey guys, any of you have any tips for softening the hair after your HT? I was thinking of leave-in conditioner? My hair in the hairline stands up a bit as opposed to just falling down naturally this i expect is a natural part of the HT maturing, but wondered if there was any way to help soften the hair, I'm 5months post opp by the way. cheers

hey, i took 1mg of finasteride a day for about one year, before i noticed being less horny then normal. I continued cos it was no biggy at the time not carrying a constant loaded gun around so to speak. I can't remember exactly how much my libido decreased but it can't of being that drastic or I would have quit there and then I think. Also I was in a pretty bad place feeling crap about the real onset of baldness. Anyway later after that maybe six months I noticed less pleasure in orgasm but nothing else major. So I cut it down to 1mg EOD. By this time I was on the HT highway and maybe six months after that i had my HT. Then when i got home after the up lifting, life changing experience of having my HT and the excitement of having a hairline again i felt so elated and happy. I just wanted to enjoy that god given right to cum!!! I know I'm being a bit frank but that's the truth. It's been about five months now since i quit and my libido has kinda returned to normal, well i think the orgasm is the same again. I'd say I'm not as horny as I used to be. I keep a 'wank diary', i just write a 'W' on my calender every time ya know i have a wank. The W's are mounting up, I even got two in the one box the other day So now i'm planing on starting it again soon, I've just been observing my libido and waiting to see if it will return to full normality. My hair so far has still maintained I haven't noticed any shedding touch wood. My thoughts were if it took a year on 1mg for me to get sides maybe this time I could take 1mg EOD for how long? lets say eight months, (continue to observe) maintain then take a break again, etc and so forth. I'm aware this is wishful thinking, In my opinion I'm not sure if its a safe drug or not. i mean when you read some of those guys horror strories on Propeciahelp.com or watever its called. If it can mess your balls up with out no prior warning? In any case, I can understand no libido verses hair, libido wins hands down, but poor libido versus being bald and depressed etc etc etc etc i'm not so sure anymore. Well i've had a HT and donno if i can take fin again but am thinking positive about the future of my hair and will let ya guys know how I get on when i start back on the fin 1mg EOD. I'd be interested to here if anyone else has tried this? cheers

Marvin how much are you gonna take a day? you could take 1 EOD and decrease the chances of sides but still get the effect to maintain, good luck, I'm planning on starting fin again soon

hi goldilocks, i think if you can afford the 2nd pass and have suitable donar supply etc and are not completely happy with the position of your hairline then it's worth doing. Well Its my opinion that if you've already spend 7+ thousand dollars and your not completely content with the results and its relatively possible to reach your goal then its worth a shot, however obviously everybody is different regarding the situation of their hair etc. The thought of that looooooong journey, motel stay and spending more cash makes me stall it a bit but as i just mentioned, after going so far you feel you wanna go the hole way and reach your goal if ya can...

hi, i had my 1st ht back in 0ctober, i was a norwood3 i guess and had my temples and hairline re-established. I'm very happy with the results so far, the only thing is I want to lower the hairline a tiny bit because i feel my forehead looks a little big, I was kinda a little annoyed at myself for not twisting my doc's arm back in October for a lower hairline but he said it was rite for me ect ect. Obviously I'm not over the moon about having to make the very long trip from Europe to north America again. However I am aware that most of us will need a second pass to refine things etc etc. This I can understand more with people with a lot more hairloss. However with people such as myself with less hairloss to begin with I thought I would have had just one HT in the frontal area and imagined any subsequent HT would have been elsewhere i.e.the crown etc. With all that said I'm only at the 5month mark and all the added density and maturity etc to come will make all the difference. You see I have a budget rite now so i can afford a second pass and have a very good donor supply as well. I expect my doc to get back to me with a recommendation of required grafts shortly. I think the best thing to do would be to take note of my doc's recommendation and wait till i hit at least the one year mark?? before returning. Although I kinda feel the sooner i get the second pass the sooner I'll reach my desired goal. But one has to be patient, however I know the hairline ain't gonna grow any lower but as i said earlier, that the added density to come and maturity will make a big overall difference. Any thoughts welcome. Cheers

If people like celebrities where money is no object and they have the donor supply etc etc, they prob rent a clinic for a month install pin-ball machines and Canadian hot-tubs for their entourage then relax and let the ht doc spend as much time as necessary to get everything perfect for the patient I imagine when the likes of Tom Cruise can guarantee a bonus tip for that "excellent treatment" from their doc and his staff it would be more then 1000 of our ht budgets put together, and that's just for the tip...let alone what someone like him would pay for the procedure. Where money is no object, all the money in the universe, more money then God...

howdy folks, sorry its taken me so long to let ya know how my ht has been coming along, i've been just thinkin positive and letting it grow, i've been using rogaine foam once in the evening but lately started applyin it in the morn as well for the time being, i've also decided to give finasteride another go...Anyway i had my ht on Oct 10 with Rahal and it was all good and so far i've been pretty happy with the results although rite now i'm kinda regretting not getting the hairline lowered a little bit. I had about 2500 grafts placed in my temple area and had my hairline re-established in the position it was in, i didn't get the hairline lowered and i still feel that my forehead looks kinda a little big. During the consultation Dr Rahal said it was an age appropriate hairline and had his ruler measuring my forehead and he thought it was rite. However i kinda thought then and i still think now that a slighty lower hairline but not a juvenile hairline would suit me better and i am thinking seriously about popping back and getting another very small procedure too lower it a bit in the middle of the forehead, i'll wait a while and see how i feel. The hairline design it self is great, i'm hoping that the over all density will improve a bit over the passing months cos it's still quite thin, i haven't had a hair cut in a long time just been wearing my hair long and wearin a baseball cap. When the ht matures a little more i'll get a hair cut and see how it looks although i prefer keeping my hair long rite now. I 'd also like to say a massive thanks to everybody on the site for taking the time to offer advice ect ect. I know i would have been lost with out this site and you guys. Hi, anyone know a good place to buy Proxiphen? NANO is the shampoo and Proxiphen is the more expensive anti hairloss formula i believe. I'm only using Rogaine foam right now and i'm thinking about adding something else. Perhaps the Proxiphen or NANO shampoo and i'll try Revivogen. Anyone using any of the Proxiphen products? yeah that's what i was kinda thinking thanks for the reply Eman and "grow well" as they say, i think i went to the same doc you did, the worse thing for me was that goddam motel room for 3/4 days lying on my back watching tv, cos ya must lie 90degrees to avoid swelling. I thought i was gonna crack up no shit, i also felt very self conscious when i went to get breakfast wearing that blue surgical hat they give you to where but thats prob just me. I've been on Fin for prob nearly 2 yrs i started gettin libido sides after a year obviously i was disappointed. However I stayed on fin and then developed brain fog, tiredness and not feeling too well so i cut back Fin to EOD and that got rid of some of the sides - the brain fog, lazyness, not feeling to well etc, but i still have the libido related sides that I mentioned above. I made my mind up and i'd rather have hair and a weak libido then no hair and a healthy libido. But i do wonder about the safety of taking fin and will my healthy libido return if i quit the fin or on the advent of new hair loss drugs etc. Hopefully something will replace it soon. Or I might try topicals before that happens. I had a ht at the front of my head quite recently so i need to think of a decent strategy. I'm also taking anti-depressants but i really don't think there to blame but i'm cutting them down and will try quit to see if that helps. Anyways i think i'll continue stayin off the fin for 2 weeks and then start up 1mg/o.5mg every MWF see hows thats gos. Probably you either get the libido sides or you dont, theres no getting rid of them while staying on fin...

well if i got 2500 that would leave me plenty of donar hair for another ht down the line. But im guessing the higher number of grafts that safe to get the better. By the way has anyone any interesting insight into the design of the infamous hairline - like the design of a natural hairline? i was reading elsewhere about the wall behind a wall hairline which sounds more appealing as opposed to a thick wall of hair in the hairline although plenty of real natural hairlines are a wall of hair also. I think soft and irregular could be good, i suppose it depends on the individual

i chose Rahal, now im hoping it all goes well, a natural hairline and whether or not I go for the right amount of grafts. I still need to discuss the procedure with him in more detail - from my online pics Dr.Rahal mentioned 2300 but i'm not sure yet. Maybe i might go for 2500/2700 but that might be unrealistic when you consider further hairloss, however i want a good result in one sitting, i dont want to be wishing i got more afterwards if possible. Dr. Rahal will have to advise me when he meets me in person.
