hi, I've got my ht booked, flights booked and now I'm a little worried about what Ive got myself in for. I've been a bit stressed over other things lately and I haven't been able to focus on the up coming ht that's in a month time. I'm concerned of new issues arising if I'm not happy with the results (bad hairline, too many grafts/ not enough grafts/ final result looking dodgy not matching native hair) and I'm trying to think of how i can make sure I've thought of everything before its too late for a successful ht...

hi folks, i have my procedure booked for early this oct and have only been able to do the the scalp exercises in the evening for about the last two weeks ive started doing them in the morning from today on. So Ive got about six weeks left and im guessing i still have enough time to get good laxity?? Although i dont think ive noticed much of a difference in laxity so far and ive been watching jotronic's utube video on how to them. Also i have to appear in court in early december (2months after ht)so im a little concerned that my head might look weard but im a norwood3 and have good native hair so i'm hoping i can grow a beatles type fringe and disguise recipient area at the front. Do you think ht procedure is too close to court appearance? thanks

thanks for the advice, yeah i'd like a nice new thick head of funky new hair where i've balded so i can hopefully wear it watever way i choose up/dowm/longish and match native hair which is good and relatively thick, thats why i was thinking of 2500 grafts, also i've checked out plenty of other cases of norwood 2's getting grafts in the 2000 range and i'm a norwood 3+. So i'm thinkin 2500 is a good bet?? advice appreciated

I'm 31, i've receded a lot now perhaps more then the pics suggest (norwood 3.5 maybe) where i cant style it and buzzing it don't suite me. Also i plan on lowering the hairline a little bit more normal/youthful, my donor supply is good - thanks for the input folks. By the way and i know its tricky to compare as everybody's hair is different however mp96 received 2100 grafts and had less hairloss then me to begin with and i think his result looks pretty great

I dont want to spend more cash then i have too but i'm hoping for a excellent result, dense hairline etc. do any of you guys reckon I'm on the right path with 2500? Well i think im gonna go with 2500 anyway, on fin and minox also. By the way how long does you head swell up like a mushroom for? Some folk say stay one day post op then fly home others say stay 4 days post op. How many days does it take so you appear normal cos i hear ya look like shit after it? thanks for any advice

hi hatrick, yeah lazyness and headfog is a pretty common side effect from fin, ive cut down fin1mg to EOD and feel better also i've read that you can take a pill and a quarter of fin 1.25(i think) bad at maths, every mon wed fri and have same results cos it stays in your body etc for quite a while perhaps everyone is different. Also apparently it takes longer for you to become immune to fin taking it m,w,f. Anyways I'm starting taking 1 1/4 generic propecia this week m,w,f. Also exercise - I've started a brisk walk EOD, VitB comlplex and Zinc i hear they help too with sides.

I know what you mean when you say "why do you care if someone knows you've had a ht?" I look it like having work done on your teeth like a filling or something same thing, but that said some people have yet to evolve into humans and with that said i dont care about what they think either but there the type of people i avoid etc etc

yes i'll have someone else take out the staples, as someone else said they dont care who knows as long as it looks good i agee, but i'd prefer not to broadcast it and in a small village like Ballykisangel its like the old saying "everybody knows everybody's business" not that i do. Although my local doc thinks i'm pretty crazy taking finasteride i could imagine the face on her when i mention a ht - "a what?" anyways thanks again for the input, i think we'd all be like lost sheep with out this forum.

thanks for your reply p.g.p. Do you have sides, if so did they diminish taking meds mon,wed,fri? Anyone else out there taking finasteride and putting up with the lower non existent libido? Any suggestion to lower sides?thanks

hi i've taken fin 1mg for a year and recently lowered my fin 1mg dose to EOD (about 1 week ago) with a meal because of sides like lazyness, head-fog, libido. I've noticed some hairs falling out but that could be me being paranoid jus cos im aware ive lowered the dose. Has anyone hear continued to maintain with 1mg EOD? I hear its pretty much the same thing cos finasteride stays in your body for 24/78 hours or something like that. I'm not in a relationship so the libido thing hasn't been a big problem - i have less spontaneous erections, weaker orgasm with less sensitivity. I want to stay on the fin and keep the hair but do you think im mad with the libido problem? could i cause long term problems? its a tricky question to answer i know, that's the chance you take i suppose but think i would rather keep my hair and not get so depressed/reclusive then low/no libido. Any opinions? thanks

thanks for the input folks, i will prob try removing staples myself, or pop into an out of town hospital if i must cos i still want to keep the procedure as private as possible and i know i'd feel apprehensive about visiting the hospital cos theres so many young pretty hot nurses working there - but may have to, could make up a story.By the way i heard staples are better then sutures?thanks

I'll be traveling from Europe and could save plenty of cash i imagine if i return home shortly after the procedure instead of staying in a hotel waiting to get the staples removed. I'm not telling anyone about the ht so don't even want to visit the family doctor. Perhaps with a correct surgical staple remover and the help of a video camcorder hooked up to a monitor so you can see what your doing could help. Anyway its a money saving thought,i'm sure removing staples your self from the back of you head would be tricky...any suggestions would be much appreciated thanks jojo

i suppose my main concern is this and if someone with similar experience cud give me advice that would be great - if i get a ht i have to stay on the finasteride? thanks

I'm thinking when i get the ht, and if i get fed up with the fin sides, (brain fog,lazyness,low libido)there getting to me,and give the fin up then I'll start to loose hair behind the newly transplanted hair going back towards the crown, but will get ht with Rahal i think, and worry about the crown later, If i must quit fin after ht hopefully keep crown with topicals or a 2nd ht later if or when its needed. Man I'm getting fed up being a hat slave and cant wait to feel better about my appearance again. Will be calling/emailing pics of head to rahal soon - wish me look i cant wait to get it sorted. thanks jojo
