  1. I would stick to Strip. Why would you thin out an area with FUE. Years down the road most people will start to thin in the donor area, so why give it a head start. If they ever perfect BHT, FUE would be perfect for that.
  2. Female, my scabs took longer to come off. I thought it was because I used H&S 2% Zinc shampoo which is really soothing and doesn't promote flaking. But after I took a shower and my hair dried, I would gently rub the scabs so they would fall off like dandruff would. Don't worry, everyone is different and those scabs will eventually come off. Good luck.
  3. Copied from the Las Vegas meeting notes: Both finasteride and dutasteride inhibit the development of the type 2 alpha reductase that plays a critical role in the creation of the hair loss causing hormone DHT, only dutasteride also effectively inhibits the development of the type 1 alpha reductase that also plays a role in creating DHT. According to Dr. Bernie Nusbaum, who presented an update on Dutasteride therapy at the meeting, dutasteride is three times more potent than finateride at inhibiting the type 2 enzyme and 300 times more potent than finasteride in inhibiting the type 1 enzyme. Based on a randomized, placebo controlled study of 416 male hair loss sufferers, dutasteride improved hair growth in these men more rapidly and to a greater degree than finasteride. However, dutasteride was shown to remain in the body far longer than finasteride after being discontinued. Dutasteride was also found to reduce sperm counts more dramatically than finasteride along with a higher incidence of decreased libido (13%). Of additional concern, dutasteride, unlike finasteride, reduces the type 1 enzyme which is found in the brain ??“ unlike the type 2 enzyme which is not present in the brain. Apparently it is not clear at this time what role the type 1 enzyme may or may not play in the functioning of the brain. Thus dutasteride could potentially have yet unknown side effects due to reducing the type 2 enzyme in the brain.
  4. But I think Dust gets rid of both types of DHT. And one is used for brain function I think.
  5. Morenewhair, do not cut your hair. Eventually you will lose those transplanted hair. I feel you have a perfect situation, where your native hair can cover the transplanted. Wait two months and decide. Once you cut it, thats it. So take your time...........
  6. You should start on Propecia. I started with .5mg a day for 5 days then I started taking .5mg twice a day to equal 1 mg. I never have taken 1 mg at once. Usually on weekends I go back to .5mg a day. As always, consult your doctor.
  7. People get braces for straight teeth, and make them white. What is the difference???.
  8. I hope she didn't need to shave the recipient area for her boob job.....LOL
  9. You can grow a beard when your out having a HT. Funny thing is that people noticed the beard and not the baseball cap when you come back to work.....LOL
  10. I am currently wearing a baseball cap. I told co-workers that I was wearing a visor and got a bad sunburn.I had to cut some of the front hairs in order to put the aloe vera gel on the skin. The redness in my front third does look like I was wearing a visor on. Well that is my story and I am sticking too it!!!.
  11. The tazer was not designed as a convenience button just like abortion was not designed to be used as a means of birth control. I know the analogy is a bit of an overkill, but I just dosed with propecia, so the reply may have been medically induced..........
  12. With Dr. Feller, "The Spin Stops Here"!!!.Right Doc. O'reilly has the "Don't Taze Me Bro" bumper stickers.
  13. I am sure any police department can buy the laser combs at at discount and convert them to Taser guns....... The TASER X26 transmits electrical pulses along the wires and into the body affecting the sensory and motor functions of the peripheral nervous system. The energy can penetrate up to two cumulative inches of clothing, or one inch per probe.
  14. I use the 2% Zinc shampoo and love it.
  15. I started with Propecia at .5mg a day to get my system used to the drug. I did this for a few days. Now I take .5mg twice a day to equal 1mg. I may go back to .5mg a day because I read something that Mercks test of .5mg a day was pretty close to 1mg a day. $$$$$$$ I would be careful with Dust. I think your body needs some DHT??.
  16. You are incorrect.....While oral antibiotic therapies (taken by mouth) often prescribed to treat rosacea are effective (primarily because they are also powerful inflammation fighters), they have some important side effects, such as upset stomach, increased sensitivity to sunlight, and yeast infections. In addition, these oral antibiotics can increase the risk of antibiotic resistance. Oracea is the only oral prescription therapy approved specifically to treat the inflammatory lesions of rosacea in adult patients. It keeps the Anti-inflammatory, not antimicrobial, dose of doxycycline and no increased risk of antibiotic resistance.
  17. I am suprised no doctor mentions the use of antibiotic to help reduce the redness that people get, especially in the top third of the scalp. Its well know that antibiotic has a great anti-inflamatory effect. Thats why it works so well on Roscea patients. It reduces the swelling or inflamation of the skin as well as with redness....Just a though on my first post on this forum.......
