Cooley or Shapiro

Okay, I've posted about several other Drs, but I've narrowed my search (for the right DR for me) down to Dr. Jerry Cooley in NC and Dr. Ron Shapiro in MN.

I know, it's my decesion, plus there are other great DRs too. But looking for any last feedback on these DRs?

Did both docs give you (roughly) the same analysis and prognosis?

Enough is enough! Give me documentation or give me death!

Both seem to be great surgeons. I'm curious how you got it down to those two, as the geography (I know it's not supposed to matter) is not similar. For my research, I looked all over and the south specifically and figured if everything was equal I'd go to Charlotte instead of say, Las Vegas.

Do you live in the south? Another thing for me was cost (I know that shouldn't matter either). But, the way I looked at it - if surgeon A is great by all accounts, and surgeon B and C are too, but A is $4 per graft and 300 miles away, and B is $6 per graft but 100 miles away, and C is $4 also but is in Billings, Montana or wherever; then I should choose A.

So, really when deciding between two or three elite surgeons, then price and location should matter some. Am I correct?

Anyway, I don't think you could go wrong with either. If you plan on going back for a six month, it would be nice if it were a one-hour plane read instead of a four-hour I suppose.

Cooley is the best , IMO, that I could drive too. And Shapiro was the best, IMO, otherwise - meaning I would have to fly. Consider H&W , but I am more comfortable stsying in the US. I feel Shapiro is every bit as good as H&W.

If all things were equal, I was thinking stay closer, with Cooley. Price is basicaly the same. Thinking about flipping a quarter, ha! ha!
