Senior Member FUTzyhead Posted May 16, 2003 Senior Member Share Posted May 16, 2003 Ahhhhhhh... What a nice feeling to have them out! Last time- 3000 grafts 58 staples. This time- 2200 grafts 73 staples. ZOWIE! Anyway- Here's an important tip for anyone taking them out- Do your best to have all scabs gone, and take a nice warm shower prior to removal. It seems to soften the scalp quite a bit. The 1st time I did not do this, and every staple "stung" coming out. THIS time, half of them I didn't feel anything. The other half I felt, but no big deal. There were only about 5 that were stingers. (nothing that makes you bite your tongue off- they just smart a bit...) Anyway- Just a pointer! (Oh- I also had a nice Nerf Football to squeeze just in case...) Futzyhead

Guest
Hey Futzy, You've no doubt mentioned this a kwazillion times, but I'm too lazy to go back and check. Can you tell me how long the strip was they took? Ear to ear, is that right? Both times? Pic

Guest
...for those of you who really enjoy a culinary challenge, try... (spastic tv commercial music) FUTZYHEAD's FRESH SCALP STRIP SUSHI! (cheezy announcer's voice): Thaaat's RIGHT, Miyako! With a little wasabe, fish eggs and whale sperm, nothing goes better with a cold cup of sake than FUTZYHEAD's FRESH SCALP STRIP SUSHI!! (Mikayo, an Internet pornographer's wet dream, whose enormous bust defies not merely her diminutive Asian stature but also the Law of Gravity and 75 California state ordinances): OOOOOooooooooohhhhhhhhhh! Sugoi, neh! The haily tek-sture tickle my tongue! Heeheeheeheeheehee! (Cheezy announcer wraps arm around Miyako's invisible waist and together they say): So run right now to Vancouver or Seattle fish market for FUTZYHEAD's FRESH SCALP STRIP SUSHI!!! (gong sound, fade to black) --with apologies to my very good Japanese friends; no offense intended (but all politically correct losers can suck liposuction bags dry)

Senior Member uncjim Posted May 17, 2003 Senior Member Share Posted May 17, 2003 Futzy, Thanks for the "warm water advice". I had my staples removed at the end of a work day and yeah, some of them really did sting (as much as I didn't want to admit it). If I ever do this thing again, that will be my strategy. Senior Member FUTzyhead Posted May 17, 2003 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 17, 2003 PDM68- Woohoo! I'm glad I caught SOMEone in time! Woohoo! (slapping myself on the back...) When my wife took mine out, she sat indian-style on the floor with my forhead on her ankles. I told her to go and not stop for anything. It was a lot easier than that 1st time. DUDE! Come tomorrow, you'll be FREEEEEEE! Those last couple of days I was ready... Have fun!

Senior Member FUTzyhead Posted May 19, 2003 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 19, 2003 Jo- I know, man- Sorry... I asked before I left Vancouver, and (can't remember her name- Sorry if you're reading this!) the gal who was going over post-op instructions with me told me this trick... After having them out, though, I called Doug and told him to make sure that this memo gets on the post-op flyers... PDM68- Maybe that one side had some left-over scabbing? I really scrubbed and scrubbed when shampooing all week. Even did a little bit of scratching in the last couple of days... Glad it helped- Rock on and heal away! Let the good times roll!
