Senior Member PLEASE GROW PLEASE Posted July 20, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 20, 2009 Dr OUCH? Usually 9-12 months but since youve had prior surgeries I would wait a little longer. Growth is usually slower after the second session and you dont want then transecting or planting over grafts that havent sprouted yet
Senior Member Eman Posted July 20, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 20, 2009 I would also wait until the results of the first have really matured. That could be anywhere from 12-18 months. Spex shows a great set of pics that show the additional growth in these months. My initial HT thread: done and done!! Check it out...
Regular Member Hairy Godmother Posted July 23, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted July 23, 2009 If you are putting those grafts in the same area, you need to wait a minimum of 9 months. If your plan is to place them somewhere else 6 months will be fine. Senior Member JohnS Posted July 23, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 23, 2009 Six months is way too early. If in the same area, then wait at least a year. If a totally different area, then maybe 6 months. You need to let the donor area heal so you have sufficient elasticity to obtain a decent size strip. Senior Member vincehair Posted July 23, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 23, 2009 Haha PGP,Dr. OUCH dude you really do have "hairlust" take it easy and let it mature first. Got any pics?
Bill - Seemiller
hairlust, I believe waiting 12 months is optimal between strip procedures for 1 solid reason and an a second possible reason. The first and real reason is to give the scalp and its elasticity time to return. The second reason is if hair is being transplanted in the same area to densify it, it's good to let the first hair transplant come to maturity. This reason to wait a year becomes null if hair is being transplanted in virgin areas however, the first one still applies. Best wishes, Bill
