Regular Member roscopeeco Posted May 7, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted May 7, 2009 i know that they tell you the goal is to start working the scaps (more like crust) from the scalp at seven days post op onward. i was wondering if anyone had any ideas to do this. should i use my hands or a fine bristle brush like a toothbrush? no pain no gain

Regular Member roscopeeco Posted May 7, 2009 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 7, 2009 alright...so if they don't come off by gently massaging then i shouldn't force the issue?...just let them fall off in time?...my head is not filled with scabs...just a sort of light crust...don't really know how to describe it...you can feel the texture just a little rough on top...if i rub gently over the dry scalp some drop off...just didn't know if i should force the issue at the benefit of having a clean scalp. no pain no gain
Senior Member Leeson Posted May 7, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted May 7, 2009 Call Joe to be on the safe side, but I'd just gently work them till they come off. My Hair Loss Website - Dr. Hasson
Senior Member Jotronic Posted May 7, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted May 7, 2009 Roscopeeco (I love it I love it!) At this point you can let your head soak under your shower stream for several minutes. This will help to loosen what's left of the crusting. Use your fingertips and massage in circles. At night you can put vitamin E oil on the recipient area and let it soak in too as this will help to further break up the crusts. Call us if you want to chat about it in more detail but the above should be good. Regular Member roscopeeco Posted May 8, 2009 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 8, 2009 i have been running my hands straight down my head in the direction of the growing shaft...this seems to be breaking up a lot of the crust...it comes off in what appears to be little white balls...i was just assuming all the crust had to be off by day fourteen...wasn't really sure. no pain no gain
