Need your opinion about my donor area. I was told you by my clinic to wait 6mo for final results about my donor area. I start taking fins and minoxidil.

Going in 2 weeks to take prp for recipient and donor area.

They could have better utilized/managed the donor area. Rather than taking hair from a concentrated area in a square region, they should have used a wider area from sides and back.
How many grafts were extracted? I am sure things will improve once you recover from shock loss on the donor region…but still…I don’t like how they managed the donor here.

12.5k grafts with Dr. Felipe Pitella in Jan 2024.

I dont know if my case is a shock loss or this is how it is. How would you know if it a shock loss?! It was 3500 grafts.

Yours look great and how many grafts did they take from the donor area in the back?

Do you have recent pictures?

I don't like the extraction area they used, but as far as if it's shock loss or donor depletion, you just have to wait and see. It could grow back right away or it could take 6 months like they said. There's no good way to tell at this point.

@Mahmoud,

Typically, a surgeon will take hair from all over the sides and back of the head, strategically placed far enough apart so that it doesn’t look like any hair was removed your hair transplant and chores.  It appears that they were assured has taken hair from a concentrated area within one section of the back.

All that to say, while what we are seeing may not typical, you may very well just be experiencing shock loss.  But there’s really no way to know for sure until your hair transplant for immature is.  Six months time may or may not be enough for any shocked hair to grow back. You may have to wait a full year.  This really varies from patient to patient.

best wishes,

It looks like more than 3500 extractions.
