Regular Member diegoyrenny Posted March 6 Regular Member Share Posted March 6 (edited) Wanted to share my experience so far with my hair transplant in Liva Hair, Dominican Republic. Im 35 yrs old and decided to get this procedure done at this clinic because i am from the Dominican republic i have a house there where i could rest after the procedure and because they have done what seems to be some good work on some Dominican celebrities. This place is what would be considered a hair mill. it is a team of turkish people there is one person they reffer to as the doctor she is a woman. when i got there she looked at my head, she drew my new hair line and gave me an estimate of grafts that would be used. She also is the one that does the slits on the recipient area and the technicians wich are 2 assigned to you one on your left and one on the right, are the ones that do the extraction and insertions of grafts. The guy that did my right side was a bit more aggressive with his extraction witch led to a bit of overharvesting on that side in my opnion. In total they say they extracted 3,300 grafts. I am on oral finasteride and oral minoxidil now i am at 4.5 months from the procedure and would like your opinion on how you guys think my progress is going. The price was $3,000 i previously had smp on my head and was rocking the bald smp look. I will keep updating on a monthly basis Edited March 6 by diegoyrenny
Regular Member jjalay Posted March 6 Regular Member Share Posted March 6 The hairline is way to straight without any microirregularities and you definitely didnt need 3300 grafts to cover this small area considering also the fact that you have curly hair. Te donor area looks in bad shape too. You were right about your assumption that the clinic you went is a hairmill.

This and the temple points aren’t great either- looks like multi hair grafts were used and thus look unnatural. First call should be to get the temple points punched out or lasered off. Still , far from the worst we’ve seen and the density is good at least. Edit*Get the hairline fixed up first see what you can get punched out and put back into the donor. maybe also get some beard hair implanted into it Nevertheless all fixable AFAIK. As far as the hairline since i had smp they simply followed my smp hairline i attached a picture of my smp
Regular Member jjalay Posted March 6 Regular Member Share Posted March 6 You have curky hair that provide better coverage but you still have gaprs in the donor are, this should not be the case. Regardless of smp microirregularities and a natural looking hairline is always possible if you do it the right way. A straight line from the one temple to the other is not really good work. Asians have a different hairlines, they have really straight hair. Also, they usually have thicker, darker hair and lighter skin. This makes unnatural hairlines more visible and easier to spot. Here’s a good article https://www.ishrs-htforum.org/content/26/5/204 Afro hair on average is very forgiving because its curly, so even if the front looks unnatural. It wouldn’t be visible when grown out. The opposite is true for east asian hair. I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic.
