Bogota Hairlines
Hello from Bogota Colombia! Below are 12 months hair transplant results of our 37 years old patient from the USA. This is A great example of a case where it is advised to take the conservative approach with hairline design where the area to cover is fairly large. We limit surgery to around 3000 grafts per session so the idea was to distribute the grafts in A way that density won't be sacrificed. As much as it is tempting to opt for a hairline that is low and straight, in some cases such as this one it is not a good idea. A lower hairline means more valuable donor to be used. Donor that could be more beneficial down the line should the hair loss will progress. Also, it is important to take into account that the hairline should be natural and age appropriate for the long run. A low and straight hairline when one is 60 y/o could not look right and could "Scream" Hair Transplant. Dr Pareja with the assistance of dr Carranza found the sweet spot between hairline design and density which allowed this satisfying outcome. The patient also wanted to improve some density in the crown which was possible to achieve due less grafts placed in the hairline. The patient is committed with both Finasteride and minoxidil daily which we believe was a a great boost for the final result. *Result photos are patient submitted The surgery was led by Dr Paola Pareja with The assistance of Dr Gina Carranza Total number of FU : 3024 with the breakdown of 1 hair 501 2 hair 2256 3 hair 267 Method : FUE Extraction: Mamba Trivellini Motorized device 0.85mm Edge out Performed by Dr Paola Pareja Dr Gina Carranza Pre made incisions: Performed by Dr Paola Pareja , size range 0.8mm for thick 1 hair grafts and 0.9mm 20G for the multiples. This patient, by going with a higher hairline, was not only able to fill in his frontal area, but also got grafts into his midscalp and crown using only a total of just over 3000 grafts. I think it's usually better to have thick hair everywhere with a bit higher hairline than to have a low hairline with grafts spaced further apart and end up still being thin everywhere.
