Vera Clinic - Bad experience

I had hair transplant surgery several months ago with Vera Clinic. The lead up to the surgery was great. Very good communication and everything was clear, however on the day that I arrived for my surgery, it wasn't the amazing experience that I thought it would be. I was greeted by a very friendly woman at the front desk and I had requested a translator because although I speak a little Turkish, I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. I was all ready to go into surgery but first I had to visit the finance man named Harun (man with hair tied up in a pony tail). I was having some trouble with my bank account because I don't live in Turkey, and my bank was declining the payment due to them thinking it was suspicious behaviour. Harun was extremely inpatient with me having this issue, he told me that I should know how the banking system works with the bank that I am with and that I should have figured all of this out before coming in for surgery. He made me leave his office to sort it all out because he said I was wasting his time. I sorted it out and then he increased the price that was originally agreed upon. I told him that he was charging more than I was told but he argued that I was wrong, he spoke over the top of me and was ver patronising. He told the translator that I was stupid in Turkish, completely unaware that I do speak a little Turkish and understood his comments. Because I am not great with confrontation and I was feeling overwhelmed with the way he was treating me I just paid the fee and had the surgery. The next day I had to go in to get my hair washed and I decided to speak to the lady at the desk about being overcharged, she looked over all the numbers and agreed that I was overcharged. I had to go back in to see Harun to sort it out. To his credit, he did apologise for his mistake (but that may have been because the lady was still standing with us). I assumed that Harun must just not have liked me but when I spoke to 2 other men at the hotel, before I even had the chance to bring it up both of men said that Harun, the finance man was extremely rude to them as well. 1 of the men had called his friend and made his friend cancel his upcoming scheduled surgery with Vera Clinic and advised him to go with another clinic due to the extremity of Harun's rudeness. The other man's partner had some work done to her teeth and she said Harun was polite to her but was encouraging her to have a coffee despite just having her teeth whitened. She explained to him that the dentist had told her "no coffee for a few days", with which he replied, "the dentists here don't know what they're talking about, you're allowed to drink coffee straight away". Overall my experience at vera was good with the other staff but I didn't enjoy it at all because I was so shaken up by my experience with Harun. In terms of the results from surgery, it's too early to tell, but I definitely would not recommend Vera Clinc because of the experience I had with Harun. Take your money elsewhere!

Vera clinic is a tech-based hair mill. You should avoid these types of clinics because the risk of a bad outcome, in terms of donor management, graft survival, and hairline design and placement, is high. There are good clinics in Turkey, but they are good despite being in Turkey not because of it.

When I was in Turkey earlier in the year (for a family holiday) I went for a consultation (it was more like a chat really) at Vera Clinic, only because one of my friends had his HT done there and claimed good results.

I did not get great vibes either, and I know exactly who you mean by "man with hair tied up in a pony tail".. he was very adamant and insisted I book a surgery then and there, apparently they could've gotten me in the next day if I wanted.

Anyhow my intention was just to get an opinion, I was never going to go ahead with Vera Clinic.

Despite your experience I hope your procedure progresses succesfully!

Wow, next day, that’s a huge red flag.

I am talking to them now and I am getting the same vibe. I am looking at my options now but they keep asking daily if I bought my ticket to Turkey yet and I have bean talking to them for a couple days only so I am glad I am not the only one feeling rushed to make decision.
