Dr. Gur - FUECAPILAR Clinic, NW IV progressing to NW Va, 2440 grafts

Hi Everyone,

we would like to present below a case of a patient at Norwood IV stage progressing to a Norwood Va stage. Two separate sessions were planned for the patient. Below you can find the results 12 months after the first surgery. The patient is scheduled for his second surgery in December 2023.

Patient Details: 50 years old patient. He was not using medication prior to the surgery.

Surgical Plan: Hairline reconstruction, density increase in the frontal, fronto-temporal area and mid scalp. The surgery was performed in 1 day with 2440 grafts implanted in total.

0.9mm motorised punch was used for the extraction.

Graft Breakdown
1s: 300 (thin) 17 (normal single grafts)
2s: 1000
3s y 4s: 1123

Overall hair/graft ratio: 2.33

Let me reply to your questions below:

1. Is this patient currently on any hair loss prevention treatment? If so, what?
   Yes, the patient started to use oral finasteride and topical minoxidil after the surgery which helped to improve his native hair and stabilise the hair loss.
    
2. What is the surgical plan for the second procedure?
   Main focus of the second surgery will be to work in the upper vertex and crown, but it is very likely that there will be some grafts implanted in the mid scalp to increase density in that area. During the consultation once the hair is shaved, Dr Gur will assess the area with the trichoscope to decide on the number of grafts to be implanted in that area.

Looks like a pretty good result there. I am scheduled for October with Dr Gur and am still concerned about not doing my crown as a second surgery I will probably not have time for at a later date.
