Regular Member Beno99 Posted September 7, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted September 7, 2023 Hello everyone I had a hair transplant 2 years ago. The results are fine however I decided to get my head shaved today just to see what it looks like. It was a razor shave btw not just clippers. My cousin who also got a hair transplant told me that this was a huge mistake and transplanted hairs aren’t supposed to get shaven off like that. He said that I might even have lost a lot of the hairs permanently because of that. Is this true ??
Senior Member davidn Posted September 7, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted September 7, 2023 No, 2 years after there is 0% chance of damage by shaving.

Regular Member Grouse Posted September 7, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted September 7, 2023 Do you have a pic of how your scalp looks razor shaved? Always been curious, hard to find pictures.
Senior Member HappyMan2021 Posted September 7, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted September 7, 2023 The follicles are located under the skin. Nothing above the skin will cause any effect. That being said I definitely understand your anxiety. If you are still worried about this just dont get razor shaves anymore 🤷♂️
Senior Member Fue3361 Posted September 7, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted September 7, 2023 Your cousin is talking out of his butt. But please do post a picture, curious how it looks! We rarely see people with transplants shaving their heads afterwards Check out my journey here:
